I really like Somerset Maugham. I'd recommend his short stories too. The Picture of Dorian Gray is another good choice.

I will definitely look into the Maugham's short stories. I'm super excited about Dorian Gray, I'm hoping it's as readable as some of the other classics I've read.

I liked 'Of Human Bondage' and 'The Painted Veil' by Maugham too. He's a classic storyteller; definitely from a different time but I enjoyed his style.

i tbr’d many of these books. when i need something stimulating and possibly life changing i come here. thank you for enlightening us with books i barely hear anyone talk about and thank you for just being you ♡

I also have Lolita on my list to read this season. I have owned it for so long and have been putting it off because it scares me. I would love to watch a video on Palace Walk. It sounds very interesting. You have some amazing books on the list!!

Sounds like a great list of books. I have read Pachinko and enjoyed it though I will say I enjoyed the first part of the book more so than the second half, I wasn’t as interested in the story line of the later generation. Palace Walk sounds really good, would love to see a vlog in that if you decide to do one.

Your views on Pachinko is more than likely why I haven't been able to finish it. I think what was throwing me off is Sunja's relationship with her baby daddy lol. You know, the dad that was rich and wanted to pay for for their sons life. It started getting weird to me. Idk. But I will finish it. Reading vlog coming right up. I've made it to chapter 21. So I better start the video soon. Thanks as always for tuning in!

@@jadeddiamonds9983 Went to add Palace Walk to my wish list and went to read the first few paragraphs in the sample and ended up reading the entire thing. I said let me go add this to my cart. 😆 I see what you mean about the prose. The sentences are wonderfully crafted without being unnecessarily flowery.

Lolita is going to be a tough one to get through but I’m prepared for it! If I can get through a little life I’m sure I can make it with Lolita. I can't wait to see what James has to offer!
