My very 1st time viewing your VERY informative video. Think I may have to book a Springtime charter with your Seven Stripes business. You certainly know the ins & outs of the Cape Cod fisheries. Thanks for posting this piece.

I'm in Las Vegas I'm guessing this doesn't apply to our stripper population on lake mead?

you're throwing a 3.5 oz lure on light tackle?
@jonathanjackson70472 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with the light gear. It's much easier to cast and retrieve and so muchore fun to play the fish. Just a comment, I was cringing every time I saw you grab the rod above the cork while fighting a fish. That's about the best way to break a rod.

If I go to cape cod canal for striped bass, what rod do you recommend? Thanks
@DouglasOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee! The LRS 785F is a solid choice for conventional and is a great in-shore and freshwater spinning rod (we offer a freshwater and saltwater model). This rod will work well for larger jigs, carolina rigs, spinnerbaits, casting bucktail jigs for stripers and surface lures. The added length will make distance casting a snap and will handle medium inshore species such as striper, redfish, snook, permit, false albacore, jacks, salmon, halibut, and barracuda. douglasoutdoors.com/spinning-casting-rods/lrs-series/ For fly, a 9 or 10 weight rod should get the job done. Our DXF series is a solid choice without breaking the bank. douglasoutdoors.com/fly-rods/dxf-series/

I did watch it to its entirety to form my opinion. The "expert" advice are ok. Typical. It depends on your level of understanding. Well made video nontheless. Commenting for the algo as well.
