You can't see me cringing at those horseshoe crabs. They smell sooooooo horrible when they're dead on the beach. It's wonderful to see how at home your boys are in the water. No fear at all. Love it. What a wonderful life you're giving them.

They are water kids for sure.....they LOVE swimming in the water, letting the waves crash into them or even swim at the pool. It's good for Ashley and I because it wears them out hahaha

@@ReelJayB well, my fiancé has been battling cancer for 7 years. I don’t know if you remember me telling you that I was taking care of my mom who passed away last September. He was there for me through it all. He’s actually my very first boyfriend ( high school sweetheart) we reunited after about 50 years in August of 2019. I had been telling him about OC, and he has watched many of your videos with me. I’m trusting God for everything, and I hope that we will still be able to make it.

I think Oddysea owes you some $$ with how much you plug their business! We've always wanted to go to those beaches we see off Rt 90.. think it's going to have to happen next year! We usually rent pontoons in lakes here up north but this looks so much more fun & filled with less urine
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
Hahaha I'll let him know he owes me! The location is what does it for me qith Odyssea. No sand bars and an open bay, no channel markers to follow. I highly suggest it. We don't have the urine problem, the tides take care of that 😂

Being trying to talk my scardey cat 12 year old granddaughter to go on a patoon boat for years. She knows how to swim but afraid of drowning. Told her the bay is shallow & will only boat in shallow water. Hopefully when we get down thier in a few weeks she will change her mind.
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
It's definitely shallow! Show her my boys walking to the island, she'll see how shallow it is! Hopefully she'll go, it's always a great time boating around.

Maybe because of the rain today? I saw a lot of restaurants pretty packed. But, this year seems down overall. Not nearly as busy as prior years. The mayor was saying this year business has been down. Weekends have been busy, but weekdays are slow.

Hey Jay, coming down to the OC in August... can you recommended a short list of some "MUST EAT AT" restaurants? You put me on to fishing spots in one of your videos 2 years ago and some other OC secrets that enhanced our experience.
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
Yeah absolutely! Seacrets is a must try if you haven't been there before. The food and drinks (They are known for their frozen drinks, Pain In De Ass is out favorite) are great, but the atmosphere is amazing. Fish Tales is another great one, food/drinks and atmosphere are great. Another with a good atmosphere is Ropewalk and De Lazy Lizard. The food at both are decent and they have a good menu selection. The bada bing shrimp at Ropewalk is excellent. If I had to pick 1, definitely try Seacrets.

Cool video. Would love to do this. Looks like so much fun. A little nervous as ive never driven a boat. Do they provide a brief lesson on driving a boat? Is driving a boat difficult?
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
It's very easy to do, just watch for calmer weather and you'll be fine. If you rent one during the week, it's also less boat traffic. The staff at Odyssea are AWESOME and are there to answer any questions you have, even showing you how to drive. It's easy to drive, there's only forwards, reverse and neutral. You don't have to go "full throttle" either, you can take your time and go slow. If you have any questions, just email me yakattack0311@gmail.com and I'll help you out.

Dude, what about Bayside Boat Rentals? 54th street. Good people and great boats.
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
They are great too, very comparable to Odyssea. I think that area in general (52nd-54th street) is the best place to rent a boat.

Just FYI.. there ARE sharks in them waters.. in the bay.. in the water.. in the sharks.. the fact is that the story JAWS was loosely based on shark attacks in NJ in 1916.. up river.. although the author denies it.
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
Yup! There's sharks in there, but you have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting bit by a shark. Especially in the bay. I believe the NJ attacks were from bullsharks, which can go up river and are extremely aggressive. We don't have those in our bay, thankfuly.

im surprised you guys dont own a boat living down there.

I have a smaller 16' skiff which is perfect for 2 or 3 people. The pontoon boat rental is fun because it fits everyone and I don't have to worry about storage or maintenance.
@jimryan40564 ай бұрын
I booked with Odyssea last year on your recommendation. I will be using them again on August 9. We had so much fun last year we are doing an 8 hour rental this year. Did they extend the area you can go to? Last year we couldn’t go past 23rd street.
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
An 8 hour trip would be awesome! The 4 hour trip flew by for us, we wish we went longer. I know they changed the boundary to go into the st Martin's River. He mentioned if we were going near the 50 bridge, but I said no, so I assume your allowed down there.
@mikekreen93363 ай бұрын
What was the length of the boat you rented? Curious to why, under 13 wearing a PFD, and if this is a policy of Odyssea. Great video.
@ReelJayB3 ай бұрын
Thanks! The PFD policy is Maryland State Law if the boat is under 21'. I'm not sure of the exact length of the pontoon boat we rented, so it may be an Odyssea policy to wear it. I'd say, as a guess, the boat had to be around 20' to 24'.
@GarrettWorcester4 ай бұрын
I might have missed it, but do you have to allow travel time to be back in four hours, or is it four hours and THEN return to Odyssea? (Trying to avoid the embarrassing smell of an Unauthorized Use Summons, lol)
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
HAHA I totally get it. I believe you have to allow for travel time, although your not really traveling too far away. I'm sure if your running late, you can call them and let them know. They are pretty flexible to work with.

Can you rent kayaks???? Thinking of renting a kayak and go out
@ReelJayB4 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if they rent kayaks from there, but there is a place nearby you can rent them. If you have a truck to transport one, maybe try OC Kayak in West OC. Ask for Dean and see if he rents them.
