i think you're gonna love equinox!! the classes are so amazing, i highly recommend the pilates, yoga, dance, barre, and spin classes! they're such a good workout and the instructors are great, definitely take advantage and try them out to see which ones you like! it's so nice (for me at least) to just show up to a class and not have to plan my own workout. I hope you enjoy it!!

my apartment building does exactly the same thing as yours with the air conditioning and it’s extremely annoying 😡 as soon as October hits they switch the cold air to heat mode and it’s sooo hot inside and I hate not being able to switch it back to cold air until May. I’m grateful because I don’t have to pay for it as a utility at all but it’s so inconvenient, especially cause in Madrid it doesn’t really get that cold until late December and I love keeping my apartment cold all year round. if you find a solution for this PLEASE let me know, I want to use my barefoot dreams blanky at some point 😅

New York apartment buildings legally have to turn on the heat at a certain time (I think it's October 1st) to make sure people have heating :/ It definitely can get super hot in your apartment though! It's on usually through March

Not sure if this is helpful or not, but my building is the same way where they turn on the heat and I can’t control it. It got so unbearably hot! My circuit breaker is inside my apartment though so I turned off the furnace from there so it doesn’t blow any hot air anymore. Worked like a charm!

It is pretty typical for NYC buildings. Even my old apartment in Seattle was like that, I couldn’t control when the heat was or wasn’t on. I also didn’t have a heating bill which was nice.

Sorry for my ignorance but can someone explain the heating/cooling situation in NYC apartments? I live in Singapore and we have individual air con / heating units in apartments and you control whether it is on/off/the temperature etc.
