I adore this collection. While I am not a huge Chanel fan, I have to admit the craftsmanship here is the best. The quilted jackets and coats look like they have mini pillows on them. The detailing is subtle but very pleasing. Its amazing how Karl can keep reworking the same materials and still have the collection look fresh. Also, the set is once again the best this season. I thought they would never be able to outdo that supermarket set, but they did. There should be a book written and showing the different Chanel sets over the years.

I really enjoyed this runway show. It wasn't the serious, long face, straight walk from the models. They showed their personalities as Cara took something to eat after she posed :p And the models were smiling! Loved that! And the best part? They got food right during the show! How cool is that? food+ fashion= awesomeness

It wasn't clear the walking line but at least it was energetic as normal days climate at the hotel. The messenge at the end of the show that she took something to eat means normal traveling there. Amazing Egyptian make up style had covered with smoke eyes.

Let's talk about the clothes not the models. This is one of the best of the recent Chanel Fall-Winter collection with only a few exceptions.Those being the over stuffed look of some of the early jackets with the huge bow infested sleeves. A small bump in the road for me. Editorial yes, but I can't think of too many women tall and slim enough not to be engulfed by this look. But now on to the beauty of the show. The lines of the silhouettes is impeccable, the fabrics lux and luscious. Loved the sparkly long colorful coats that moved beautifully. The length of the skirts are perfection and echo the return show of Coco Chanel in 1953. I loved the look and found it charming that each model wore the iconic beige shoe with the black cap toe a la Mademoiselle Chanel. Brilliant styling there. Towards the middle of the show the lines became sleeker and more elegant. The long long swing coat was a knockout. Then the classic Chanel suit jackets pared with a 1930's length skirt was interesting but seemed out of proportion. That may just be me and my love of the classic suit silhouette that raised my brow. Still those were lovely. And the wool boucle in back and white and black with white diamonds. A wow! . There was a pink number with a bit of a flare skirt that reminded me of the amazing Romey Schneider in her grey and pink Chanel in "Boccaccio 70" in her pink Chanel. I loved that illusion to the classic. a real highlight for me was the shimmering black and white checked suit. There was another puff attack after a rather disappointing poncho. ... somehow Chanel's sleek sophisticated lines lose their elan when over worked with gewgaws of busy fluff and ruffles. The A line black cocktail dresses were flirty and fun but seemed to work better when paired with a short caplet. The finale was wonderful. Overall it was a great show with some stunning looks.

Do really Appreciate the show, always so elegant & cosmopolite! Even when it's raining! I feel sorry that people still don't get it, that few still incensed by the choice of models: a very limited vision of woman. WE ARE NOT THE SAME Chanel loves the different ways we are & dress all women with different personalities. Karl Lagerfeld has done a great job through the years, he knows better than "amateurs" the good tastes of fashion. His vision isn't limited at his own tastes, but he take in consideration also the others and he incorporate harmoniously those differences into the Chanel style. He doesn't make the same copy of the woman. When Coco Chanel started wearing trousers at her time she wasn't considered "elegant" but at the opposite. We learned to appreciate the difference in a confident & happy woman. So I hope people will think twice so they can keep their mouths cleans instead of saying s... animosities/ hostilities. As women or even men we must support each other so we can reach the top instead of putting down what we don't appreciate (what doesn't appeal to "our" tastes). No one really have the power to knows who was Coco Chanel, but we can do our best and learn more through her story, creations, ambitions and quotes. AMAZING COLLECTION! I like so much of this--I'm at a loss for words, really. But the look at 3:15 did something EXTRA-special for me. It evoked a very specific aspect of the Chanel nostalgia that appeals to me on some molecular level. (It's like the reaction I have when I smell someone in public who is wearing No. 19 or the original Egoiste--not the Platinum.) It's that certain something that makes the brand so sublime, distilled to a single look. Plus, the shoes are UNBELIEVABLY good. One of my favorite collections of all time. XOXO

But that's the idea! This is the ready to wear show not Haute Couture. Karl said it himself that this collection is about the "down to earth woman". He has reflected that in his collection and his models, who aren't your stock standard models but are models who are all unique in their own way. That's what the show is about.

Coco Chanel changed the face of women's fashion when she started the brand and if you look at Coco Chanel herself she wasn't the symbol of classic elegance. She was bold, wore mens cuts and did things her own way. What she created has become a symbol of elegance true, but at the same time there will always be an aspect of the Chanel brand that is bold and wants to create change, which can be seen in nearly all of Chanel's recent collections.
