You both seem like awesome gents. Help!!! We are in LA county and looking to purchase. Areas we're considering Murrieta or Fallbrook, we can't decide!!! What we fear most are fires. Clearly crime is worst in our city as we are so dense. The home we are looking at is near farms, is their risk of pesticides in the air because of so many farms? So far, I'm loving it but need more info from true residents. Greatly appreciate the feedback.

Fallbrook is a nothing burger- military, lots of foreign workers(I’m Hispanic and many I meet are illegals with no valid residency paperwork), and then there’s a few gated luxury neighborhoods- it’s a jarring mix. My hood has a 24 hr guard but it’s run by a revolving list of crotchety cronies who don’t like change and are very conservative. Since I’ve been here I’ve met several residents who went through hell just trying to make improvements to their homes. Super high monthly hoa fees not justified by expenditures, secret back deals on supposed community votes and I feel like I’m living in a real life game of thrones. For the money we spent I have less freedom than the much cheaper home we had in much more hands off state. Fallbrook doesn’t live up to the hype in my opinion .

OK well could be time to leave the state! Happy to help with that as well. I spend time out of state because of this reason in most communities here.
