If you are learning the game I would recommend solo variant 1 first to get the hang of the mechanics and to get your strategy. Then move to variant 2 starting with one faction, and progressing from there. That at least is my recommendation.

I could be wrong. This game is cool like that, play how you like, the rules leave room for interpretation, and even has a house rule section in the rule book.

The only board game I ever played that I needed to use a clip board with multiple sheets of paper to keep track of things. Fun game. But there is so much to keep track of.

Wow, the solo aspect of the game is so bad. How can the "AI" simply roll a d10 out of context and immediatelly make progress or be hurt by such randomness. Very disappointing implementation of "a solo mode", one of the worst I ve seen. Ill definitely pass this one and the 2nd edtion just because of this.

I understand what you mean. This was built as a competitive game but as it is evolving the 2nd edition will be coming with different scenarios that can be played solo so it’s not just a race to the end. After the encounter card, I think a JINXED trigger was missed. The mopeds were to be equipped right away after being drawn. But been drawn to the next Relic so would've been replaced anyways.

Wow your totally right I missed. I’ll mention that in the 4th month since the 2&3 are complete. They would have discarded the van and been replaced by the ambulance, but I will be selling the van. So I've finally got the game and i absolutely love it. I have looked high and low on the internet and just can't seem to find any videos of people playing the co-op missions any where. Your videos have been a huge help in helping me to understand this complex and wonderful world with in this game. What are the chances of having you do a co-op mission playthrough some day?

That is a great question. First off glad you are enjoying the game. I am planing to do the coop mission in about a month I want to do it right before Gen con so people can see it and have it fresh in the minds before they get there. Stay tuned!!! 😃😃👍

I just got to say I recently found your channel very fun to watch and you have a couple questions on the game since I do own it and I’ve only played a few times because I’m trying to get it all worked out. So those action cards don’t specify if it’s use once and discard or what you’re actually doing with it once you use that ability on some of the action cards. Second question is if you have more than 10 on a scale check whether it’s mechanical or science and your detail and only goes up to 10 when you roll it how does that math work because that’s what’s confusing me I also live in Minnesota so I thought it was fun that you had your first encounter in Duluth

I am excited you are enjoying the game, and my play through. When it comes to action cards. Most action cards are discarded after being played, but some attach to characters, party, vehicle. It will say what it attaches to. Unless otherwise specified I would discard a used action card. The math of this game. If your skill is higher then ten you get a success. So if you skill is 14 you would get one success, and roll. If you get a 4 or less you gain another success. So you would have 2 successes for that roll. If you have a 10 you would still roll. You would have the auto success from having a 10 in the skill but if you roll a natural 10 you would lose the success. 10 is bad all success generated for that person for the skill test would be lost so if you had a skill of 67 and you rolled a 8 you would get 6 successes if you rolled a 10 you get 0 successes. Wow that was a long explanation hope it made made sense. I am from white bear lake MN so I as well was super excited to go to Duluth first!! Thank so much for watching. 😃😃👍

Great stuff as always Bairnt. I've been trying to get this game "forever" over in France and finally today, I picked it up for 35 euros (35 dollars), and have ordered the solo variant, which was strangely available quite easily. Thanks once again for a class play through.

When you moved to the 1st event, you moved through a Rad hex like it was a Plains, should have cost you 3 to move through, so you really should have gone to event 7 instead, not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but something to note. Great video, looking forward to watching the next one. I've played the first solo variant, but wanting to get this one played soon too.
