Hi. I like your review, but I don’t understand why you describe it as a eurogame and then talk only about ameritrashy elements for 25 minutes? 🤔.
@johchadow5 жыл бұрын
I think he said euro-based, but yeah, it is definitely ameri-thrash in style, not euro.

Hey guys! Great review! I've had this game on my radar for some time. I think you nailed it about the story and solo mode being very appealing! There are several games I would want to plow through to exercise my imagination over... "Vengeance" (Mighty Boards), "This War of Mine", "Operation Tannhauser", "Chathulu, Rise of the Cults", and a few others. **I'm wondering if Alexander ever played "Hostage Negotiator" and how he felt about it.???? How about "The Grizzled", "Tiny Epic Galaxies", "Condotierre" (FF), and Robinson Caruso, ???? I really love the time and focus you gave to this game, really fleshing it out. To me, it made all the difference. Anyone of you guys like "Warfighter"???? I'm set up to receive ALL of "Warfighter WWII" soon that will reach up to Korea. *** Be on the lookout for a DVG game, in the future, called "Valkyrie"... very close to Robotech... it's going to be amazing. Also "Warfighter, Fantasy" which promises to be pretty interesting. I hear that all Warfighter games can be mixed and matched... so you can have a Medeval knight in a WWII squad... sounds promising. My next game will probably be "Armageddon Wars" with all the modules. Keep turning out the great content... you guys, Marco, and Stuka Joe... simply the best!!!!

Wow. Thanks a lot for the mention of our channel with the likes of Marco and Stuka Joe. I am really blown away! I have not played any of those games you mentioned except for The Grizzled which I have played about 10 times and never won, and Tiny Epic Galaxies which we have played a few times and really enjoyed. Warfighter is on our list. But haven't played it yet.

I got this on late pledge + expansion shipped to Spain and it's one of the best given the theme

The story on the cards is so good along with the growth of your colony/turn over and dynamic of your party.

A lot of effort setting up a simulation of postapocalyptic US. Solo AI is undeveloped. Random stuff on cards doesn't make a game.

As always great review! Can't wait to see you guys reviewing Cataclysm A second world war. Hope it's on your short list! :)

It is! Although that short list isn't very short. We'll have a review for Skies Above the Reich posting this week, and then we're going to do Hitler's Reich then Cataclysm, so keep tuned in the next few weeks.

Love to see more Nam games. Looked liked Alex wanted to do a Silver Bayonet video at one point. But couldnt get around to it. I think Cataclysm has been covered quite extensively already by other channels. But hey if you love it, please do a video. Its your guy's passion that drives these videos.

I have the feeling that the market is not paying so much attention to Nam, apart from the well known...

I love the way you guys talk about gameplay. This sounds like a total blast.

It is! It's pretty random, and it's much longer than advertised, but if you like mad max and enjoy some tongue in cheek pop/retro references then this is right up your alley for a heavy narrative game.

Loved the review, guys! I would point out that the first play through always takes a little longer. :) The randomness can be mitigated by equipping Spoils to Characters during other player's Turns and going to the level of card you are capable of doing at your current strength. :) The more you play, the deeper the levels you'll discover to the game.Reading the whole rule book is crucial to this. The hour per player is pretty accurate for the 13 years of play testing we did. :) Experienced players can get that time down to an average about 40 minutes per player. Additionally, there are a lot of Optional and Advanced rules for shorter games ( for example, 1/2 the Prestige and 1/2 the Town Health) and also two Solo Variants, of differing levels of difficulty that also average an hour or less. :)
