Did you know you can actually boil water in plastic? If a plastic bottle is filled halfway up, the part with water in it will not melt but everything above the water line will. Totally full bottle will boil but the very edge at the top will get burnt a bit. I learned that from Les Strout a looooong time ago. I've done it a few time it actually works.

Leaving a propane tank lit in a old dry old barn with dry brush everywhere isn't probably the smartest thing they have done lol. It should work without a pump too though slower. They could raise it too & let gravity work its magic. If you have a pump might as well use it. It would be more efficient.
