People don't know about the weather here (I live about 15-20 minutes from there on the worst day) for example this week: wed - 60 and sunny, thurs - 35 and rainy, fri - 65 an sunny, sat - first snow of the year. as my friend put it "our weather is as predictable as a toddlers drawings"

I live not too far from these 2. Me and my hub love these guys. Maybe we'll head up that way this spring on Vacation and see if we can run into them. They came to my city a year or 2 ago at a liquor store called Muddy Waters but we couldn't make it there that night! I was so disappointed!

Should have just built a small green house around the barrels. Put one heat lamp and you would have been set. Could have used tarps for the greenhouse.

That’s what heats up the mash for fermentation. It’s water circulating through that coil that heats it up.

Did you know you can actually boil water in plastic? If a plastic bottle is filled halfway up, the part with water in it will not melt but everything above the water line will. Totally full bottle will boil but the very edge at the top will get burnt a bit. I learned that from Les Strout a looooong time ago. I've done it a few time it actually works.

Surely it melts the bottom no? Either way it'd take too long because you wouldn't be able to put it on high because the plastic melting point would be reached. Their method would only take couple minutes each day once you've built it

Leaving a propane tank lit in a old dry old barn with dry brush everywhere isn't probably the smartest thing they have done lol. Obviously nothing happened but all it takes is an animal to knock it over, a heavy wind to do the same or something messing up with tubing and fire get shot up the line and boom lol js.

It should work without a pump too though slower. They could raise it too & let gravity work its magic. If you have a pump might as well use it. It would be more efficient.

It would be better if they just use the garden hose and a siphon and by Saif and I mean just suck on it a little bit to the liquid starts moving it's a lot easier to clean a garden hose or just buy a new one then it is to clean out a water pump
