Did you know you can actually boil water in plastic? If a plastic bottle is filled halfway up, the part with water in it will not melt but everything above the water line will. Totally full bottle will boil but the very edge at the top will get burnt a bit. I learned that from Les Strout a looooong time ago. I've done it a few time it actually works.
