Sir, i want to ask at the last minute of this video, the equation of k20 = k x kt. Where did you get the value of k ? Based on 3 average of data or what ?

There are three coefficients of permeability (k) based on three differnt experiments with different sizes of manometer tubes. They are not the same (k = 1.1E-06, 1.4E-06, 2.3E-06). Which value does represent the coefficients of permeability for the soil sample? Should they be averaged?
@GeoEngineeringandScience2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you will take the average value

Shouldn't the first test be 152 seconds? Because then the value for k1 would be 0.0014 which is much more like the others.

Very interesting work. If it is a sample with large porosity, can this method be used?

The Constant head is more suitable for coarse-grained soils

can you post a link for the mold/cage in this video?
@GeoEngineeringandScience2 жыл бұрын
The mould is commercially available, you can probably find links on the Internet. I don't have one.

Australian Standard AS 1289 6.7.1-2001. Method of testing soils for engineering purposes: Method 6.7.1 Soil strength and consolidation tests - Determination of permeability of a soil - Constant head method for remoulded specimen. (2) Australian Standard AS 1289 6.7.2-2001. Method of testing soils for engineering purposes: Method 6.7.2 Soil strength and consolidation tests - Determination of permeability of a soil - Falling head method for remoulded specimen.
