Falling in love with Portofino, Italy - 'HOTEL PORTOFINO' filmed here!

Our last stop of our Italian road trip! We share with you why we fell in love with Portofino, considered the crown jewel of the Italian Riviera. We also discover that camper vans are not allowed in Portofino, and where you can park and stay overnight. We share the best way to get to Portofino using public transport and the beautiful places to visit when you are there!
We were a little shocked (maybe more than a little!) at how much a coffee and toastie cost us in the heart of Portofino!

WHO WE ARE:
We are Alex & James. Originally from the UK, but also citizens of Australia after living there for 5 years. When we left the UK in 2014, we quickly caught the #travelbug and began making memories through video and photo. 🇮🇹 It was Henry Herbert, Count of Carnavaron, who "discovered" Portofino in 1870, building the Villa Altachiara, buying land, and helping to make the small village a very famous social destination initially in England. Because of its small size and being not so easily accessible, it immediately became a "buen retiro" in which the gentlemen of the time fell, at least for a few months a year, in the "simplicity" of fishermen and farmers.👍 (translate by Google)

Great video. We used the regular/ hourly ferry service from Rapallo. The ticket allows a stop over at Santa Margherita, a lovely spot too. Got up close to some super yatchs and cruise ships in the bay, far too large to dock!!

@@blackwidow4337 Unfortunately don't know any hotels to stay at as had found and used a Booking.com house on the road between Rapallo and Zoagli. Marina Di Bardi in 2019.
