Funny that you say that because the very next day I decided to listen to something other than talk radio and I literally heard this on the local rock station haha... Glad that I got to react to it first but, it is getting a lot of radio play. It is not the song, nor the band's fault, that most of the radio stations out there stink. Ours here happen to be crappy, and play this song quite a bit now that I'm listening for it. It is what it is. Roll your eyes as you'd like but, it is a fact.

The chorus/hook is supposed to be the repetitive part so I guess I'm not quite understanding why that's an issue. From a song writing and structure aspect, I think it's a pretty solid formula myself. But I like to write catchy, digestable music myself. I like a simpler style verse to lure them in with the story, smack them with a catchy hook, and then when we get to a breakdown or something heavier in the song then that's where we really drive the musicality side home. Good review.

I think that the big guy didn’t have the most open mind with this song, not by choice, but because he’s used to liking a certain genre and sound. We tend to shut down once we don’t hear what we typically find appeasing, nothing major. I will say that as artist, what we strive for is to : a) make music that makes up happy b) make music that others would like c) make music that can sell and d) take the listener on an emotional journey. A full serious tone would be very generic and one tone, I believe that the changes from verse to pre chorus to chorus etc. is what give the listener that journey through sound and allows all types of people to enjoy this music.

What's the matter with some of the commenters, it's Bowser and Sporto's opinion. Plus, from what I've seen they've kinda liked it. FIR got a lot of other 'heavier' songs. FIR is obviously aiming for radio plays, they're under an active major label, plus they've been headlining tours. I agree about the chorus is too catchy or a bit melodic, that it sounds somehow poppy, it's true, FIR meant it to sound that way. Sporto would dig a lot of FIR's other serious songs if he's into that specific topic. I also agree that a lot of bands these days fused different genres, I hate a lot of songs by FIR but I also like plenty of their songs, their sound differs with each album, so I guess it's up to them if they want to check some of it. I can see where Bowser and Sporto are coming from, I don't want to be biased just because I've enjoyed the band for a long time.

I have never been a big fan of rap, but the way Ronnie does it with the music in the background helped a lot. As for the chorus, it is a chorus, it is supposed to be done more than once. You really should watch the three before this IN ORDER, "Loosing My Mind", "Loosing My Life" & "Drugs". All four of these tell an ongoing story.
