@sportosp-0158
@sportosp-0158 5 жыл бұрын
Funny that you say that because the very next day I decided to listen to something other than talk radio and I literally heard this on the local rock station haha... Glad that I got to react to it first but, it is getting a lot of radio play. It is not the song, nor the band's fault, that most of the radio stations out there stink. Ours here happen to be crappy, and play this song quite a bit now that I'm listening for it. It is what it is. Roll your eyes as you'd like but, it is a fact.
@Mahunashizzle
@Mahunashizzle 5 жыл бұрын
@@sportosp-0158 it's less about whether or not the radio plays the song, it's the implication that if the radio plays the song, it must be bad. Just goes to show even metalheads have their hipsters.

@sportosp-0158 5 жыл бұрын
@@Mahunashizzle Well, you clearly saw that I liked the song. But, let's face it; the music that is marketable for mass consumption nowadays sounds very similar to this formula in a lot of ways. It is unfortunate if a good song goes overlooked because someone chooses to ignore it just because it's on the radio but, I'm not one of those people as you can tell. This song did stand out to me among all the others which is what led me to making the comments in the video that I did.

The chorus/hook is supposed to be the repetitive part so I guess I'm not quite understanding why that's an issue. From a song writing and structure aspect, I think it's a pretty solid formula myself. But I like to write catchy, digestable music myself. I like a simpler style verse to lure them in with the story, smack them with a catchy hook, and then when we get to a breakdown or something heavier in the song then that's where we really drive the musicality side home. Good review.

You know, for the life of me I just can never understand the whole "this sounds radio" argument. I mean in a lot of ways it's a compliment really. That's pretty much just saying anyone can listen to it no matter what your genre is and it'll sound good. It almost sounds like a copout to be honest lol it's like saying "man I really don't want to like this but I kind of do", I don't think it's doing the artist, or music in general, any justice. Also I completely agree with the guy on the left personally on just about everything he said, and I appreciate the honesty of the guy on the right and glad he did find it to be mostly enjoyable.

I think that the big guy didn’t have the most open mind with this song, not by choice, but because he’s used to liking a certain genre and sound. We tend to shut down once we don’t hear what we typically find appeasing, nothing major. I will say that as artist, what we strive for is to : a) make music that makes up happy b) make music that others would like c) make music that can sell and d) take the listener on an emotional journey. A full serious tone would be very generic and one tone, I believe that the changes from verse to pre chorus to chorus etc. is what give the listener that journey through sound and allows all types of people to enjoy this music.

What's the matter with some of the commenters, it's Bowser and Sporto's opinion. Plus, from what I've seen they've kinda liked it. FIR got a lot of other 'heavier' songs. FIR is obviously aiming for radio plays, they're under an active major label, plus they've been headlining tours. I agree about the chorus is too catchy or a bit melodic, that it sounds somehow poppy, it's true, FIR meant it to sound that way. Sporto would dig a lot of FIR's other serious songs if he's into that specific topic. I also agree that a lot of bands these days fused different genres, I hate a lot of songs by FIR but I also like plenty of their songs, their sound differs with each album, so I guess it's up to them if they want to check some of it. I can see where Bowser and Sporto are coming from, I don't want to be biased just because I've enjoyed the band for a long time.

I have never been a big fan of rap, but the way Ronnie does it with the music in the background helped a lot. As for the chorus, it is a chorus, it is supposed to be done more than once. I do agree I wish the heavier breakdown part had been a little bit longer and that a guitar had made more of an appearance. But, all in all I love the song. You really should watch the three before this IN ORDER, "Loosing My Mind", "Loosing My Life" & "Drugs". All four of these tell an ongoing story.

I think the transitions were on point and the complete range of Ronnie Radke's vocals are pretty impressive and made it all work almost seamlessly. I think he meshed it well and I do believe it's a complete step away from the "radio metal" the music has substance and you feel it if your actually listen to the music and the lyrics. I swear to fuck. If my therapist ever said something like "its just a phase, you'll get through it." I would straight up backhand them. Like... yeah I know it will end at some point... but right now... right now my head is so fucked, and it seems like the shit won't end. Yes. Its a stage. But thats not what a person NEEDS to hear

It kills me that the dude on the right keeps calling the rap parts the chorus. That is not the chorus. So in fact what you should be saying is that you only like the chorus.

The irony is that you guys call this radio metal yet hes never been played on popular radio. Most people either know of this band from ronnie being in escape the fate or just learn by ear. But he doesn't really get the credit.

@@sportosp-0158 shit I even listened to a few of the alternative stations on satellite radio and still nothing. Anytime I've listened to their music its either youtube or spotify. I can go through countless channels and never find them but I also live on the east coast so it's not considered local and again not popular enough to even be on our stations. I think it's sad. But I see radio metal like their talking about as music that is played on alternative airwaves consistently.

@@RoxxyFly When I said "local radio" I don't mean that I'm from anywhere near where the band's home location is; I mean my local radio. "Popular" radio is subjective since any rock station is going to be popular in that local area if that is all we have. So, I can only imagine that if they'll play this song on a station in BFE Wisconsin where I'm from, then it probably would get play in bigger cities and areas as well (at least I would guess it would). And satellite radio doesn't necessarily count.. I've had it before and their selection and rotation suck. I try to listen to radio stations from other areas streaming online, like 97.9 WCPR from the gulf coast. They have a pretty good variety actually P.S. I am the guy here in this reaction lol.

@@sportosp-0158 I understand and what I'm saying is I've listened to major radio in major cities and have never once heard any falling in reverse. Not once. And I do nothing do listen to music whether it be the radio, TV, spotify, and youtube. I'm just telling you my experience on it.

Nice reaction, thanks. In my opinion if the intensity continuous through the whole song ( or many songs after each other), it start missing its effects. Falling in reverse is incredible good in landing different music genres, styles, singing techniques etc, that makes songs not monotonical and similar. I love their versatility.
