The original one its about Ronnie’s struggle with drugs and then jail. In the original video the Drug was portrayed as a woman, but in here the drug is the same woman from the album cover. In the end she burns, i gues is the way of him leaving that chapter behind.
@tyler19884 жыл бұрын
Seems pretty fair to me. The first video you see him chasing and making contact with all the women without a second thought whereas in this one he's clearly stand-offish and not moving towards the girl while she's dressed up and brought flowers as if to entice him back in.

What I love most about this is the over arching theme of the lyrics that entwines with the structure of the song. It starts off somber but beautiful, portraying the addictive struggle (tormenting but comforting). Then as it progresses you start to hear that beauty turn into frustration in his voice...as if it’s becoming too much to bear. Then at the end...that destructive beauty is literally burned in flames both visually and vocally. He’s had enough, but destroying what used to be the beauty of his world is crazy painful. The creative choices he makes structurally and vocally mirror the exact struggle that’s painted in the lyrics..so far as to show the whole process and story of addiction. Masterpiece

Welcome to the rabbit hole called Ronnie Radke and Falling in Reverse! I love your reactions and I really love your appreciation for different genres and music! If you're interested and want to know more, check out Ronnie's first band Escape the Fate (their old stuff with Ronnie) for those early 2000's vibes and look into Ronnie's own story. He's been through a lot and has grown as a musician and a person so so much. It's been so fun growing up with him and his bands. I might be wrong but I think he's mentioned in some older interview that his voice and live performances improved massively after he got clean and he really delivers during lives as well. Most of his songs have catchy melodies but the lyrics are always deep af.. he basically grew up without a mum, was on drugs for a while, got kicked out of Escape the Fate (and apparently they also stole his songs while he was in prison), was charged with battery and went to prison with drug offences, did other shady stuff which has given him a pretty bad reputation and brought lots of hate, he's lost close friends and family members and so on.. each of his song has a story to tell and he's grown soo much, finally getting the recognition he deserves! Check out Raised by Wolves, Chemical Prisoner, Brother (ballade) and definitely the trio Losing my Mind, Losing my Life and Drugs! And of course his older stuff! Sorry for the rambling, I'm just happy you have found FIR and like them!!
@Egleolenjap4 жыл бұрын
Just some more background information: The reimagined version was released kinda as a gift for long time fans to celebrate the "The drug in me is you" album going gold after 9 years and the girl in the video was on the album cover, so it's definitely a callback. I might again be wrong, but someone pointed it out when the first wave of reaction came out, that he's talking about literal drugs that in the first video took a human form like you guessed, but also himself- he himself and his own mind is the drug inside him that is pulling him down and making him do all these crazy things, you can see the struggle between the "old and bad" him and new him in the trilogy and he kinda burns the bad in the end of this video, which i guess symbolises the growth and leaving the past in the past and letting go of it.. you can also see in the trilogy and also in Popular Monster that his little daughter is the anchor that keeps pulling him back to reality and sanity.

It's crazy that you say you don't make music because you surely understand it. I found this on a late night binge and I'm a fan, honestly. You just seem like you understand music though you don't "make it." It's impressive and you obviously have a love of music and you really showcase it here. I respect your opinions on musical taste and your tenacity to push both the original and the 'new' version and understanding the differences. As a musician, the "fire/ice" reference you mentioned is incredible. I've never heard that but I plan to check it out after this. You know what they say though, if the song is constructed well you could perform it in ANY style and it will sound amazing, this is a huge nod to writing music well, correct, and well - perfect. Great reaction, you nailed it and gained an absolute fan just by your raw understanding of music even if you claim you don't make it. I'm impressed with your knowledge. Sorry to necro-post but you impressed me just as much as this song.
