How beautiful to think of the song that way. I battled Chronic Illnesses, Chronic Pain and subsequent Depression and PTSD for years. I saw 'Once' with my beloved father. When he had a stroke at my 30th birthday party and then died 2 weeks later, the grief hit me like a freight train. I often thought that I would request this song to be played at my funeral after I took my own life to ease my pain. Eight years on, and I am proud to say that I am still here. I have fought back and am finally starting to see the light. Now the song reminds me of being resilient and never letting go of the pursuit of my own personal happiness and sanity. Then, in turn, I hope to help others who are also suffering from their own issues. Peace and Light to everybody out there. Especially those who are in pain, emotionally, mentally, physically or spiritually. ✌❤🌈🤗

This is a kind of song about our life ,we have to choose the right work on right time . If we dont then we will suffer ,someone dont want to suffer then choose the right work that we have to do. sometimes we forgot because of emotional turbulence we have to patch together our shrinking boat (life energy) and point towards the right direction because we are suffering for the wrong reason and we have a choice that is ours and nothing in this world .

I must follow my comment of 5 yrs ago by saying the song out lasted the couples relationship. As many know she found yet another man had a child move to Iceland and does concert around about. Her lilting sensuous voice still rings true. And, he still write and performs. Its funny how he now is over fifty and she is in her thirties. They are still in the world of the beautiful people but not together. God Bless both.
