So I went back and watched this again. I have a 1968 Ford 3000 with a front bucket. They added the remote hydraulics to run it. I have the 4-speed with transmission PTO but wish I had the hi-lo like you with live PTO. I do have power assist steering, which is pretty critical with the FEL. Mine’s gasoline instead of diesel, so you have, what, 5-6 more hp. Anyway, they’re solid workhorse tractors. Back in the 1960’s, we had a 2000 configured like my 3000 and a 4000 in gas but with the hi-lo 8-speed and live PTO. Dad and I cut a few wagon loads of hickory and oak for a sawmill to cut into full inch 1x6s for us to build a corral. We skidded and loaded all of them with 3-point cranes like you have, using both the tractors. I’m having flashbacks!

Totally agree, I work my 77 acres with my 1971 Ford 3000. Bought it new and couldn’t live here without it.

Very cool video. You do it all. Stationary , Drone etc. Great editing and story telling My daughter just purchase 20 acres and it came with the 73 Ford 4000 diesel. Great tractor. Easy to work on. Love it

Picked up an '86 Ford 1910 4wd diesel with front loader and a bunch of attachments for the back about 8 yrs ago for $5k. What a great little work horse. I've a '53 Ford Golden Jubliee and a couple Kubotas but I have to say I think I am most attached to that little blue Ford. Great job on the filming and the editing. Sound track was good as well. A lot of these KZbin posters could learn a thing or two from your style.

Nice vid. The ford 3000 caught my eye. I used a 3000 on my uncle's farm hauling grain growing up and hearing that diesel pur brought back so many memories I had to sub!

Nice tractor, I’ve got a 1969 2000 with the loader and a sims cab that I need to get fixed up before my kids born so he can go for a tractor ride the day he gets home like I did with my grandfather when he owned the tractor.

@@TacoCrisma well I've had my 2000 around 7 months and worked it like a borrowed mule. Pulled and moved tons of trees including large oaks. Moved tons of dirt with a box blade and a scoop (no front end loader), and cleared out an old field that had been let go for a decade. It runs an old bush hog just fine without ever over heating. Honestly I think it may not even have a thermostat in it anymore but that's fine. It's just been a beast. I only wish it had the locking differential option but it still does well with good tread and filled tires. The only issues were a minor fuel drip from the valve and choke on the carburetor and the pivot pin in the hydraulics was wore down so it stopped going up correctly. The valve got a new O-ring and I still haven't fixed the carb because it only drips when I start it with the choke. I even had the rebuild kit sitting in the garage for months. I think the new pin costs $10. The shifter will hang up or pop out if you shift too hard so I fixed that by not shifting too hard lol Honestly I would expect more issues from a brand new tractor.

We had a Ford 3000 when i was a teenager talk about a real workhorse. For 3 years that tractor was our main source of income. We put up over 20,000 bales of hay each year. We did brush cutting, plowing and what ever else we could do. It wont be a Ford but i am hoping to get a new tractor this spring and get back to doing something. I am no longer able to do things i use to do by hand but i can still get alot of work done with a good tractor. Thanks for showing what can be done.

Sorry, but your wrong....the battery casing and the steering wheel...all joking aside, ive got the 4500 model. Ive had trees spring back when clearing lots and smack the front cowling rattling my 13,000lb machine and it did not even make a scratch!! A new machine...well you can imagine.

I really loved this video! Great camera angles too. Watching you switch back and forth between box blade and rear scoop really made me appreciate my FEL (front end loader).What was that tall grass like stuff you were bush whacking in the field? And I assume the vines wrapped around that log weren't poison ivy. Were they bittersweet? Just wondering. Keep up the great filming! (Don't forget a video update on your kiln)

Great video demonstration on how versatile an old tractor is! Sure you dont have cup holders or a 12v jack to charge your phone, but that old tractor can do anything any new tractor can do! I know, cause my dad has the industrial version of your tractor, the 3500. And i have the 4500 - you can check it out on my channel. One last thing, do you ever plan on putting an FEL on that thing? Of all the things your doing I know an FEL would help and save time!!

Ba'rad 's You won’t be able to tell the difference in the lumber from your mill and one that costs 5 times as much. I haven’t found any wood unsuitable for milling yet, although I’m sure it exists. Appreciate the comment. Hope you find a Ford!

Front end weight set would be nice, can get a little white knuckle when the front tires come up off the ground especially when trying to turn. I have a 73 4000 and with the 6 ft shredder hooked up and going up a couple steep incline roads/trails I get the same floating front end experience, I keep looking for a front end weight set, but they think that iron is the price of gold lol. Get vid!

As you were starting and backing the tractor out, I noticed that your fan belt is starting to 'whip' a little. Maybe in about 6 months it will go out on you. Just letting you know. If it is a new belt, it needs to be tightened a little.

You can spread that gravel with the front end of the dirt scoop. Keeps you from having to get off and spread it with the shovel

I'm familiar with that method...but it's just not that accurate...especially in tight, steep areas like that. Does ok where it's flat.

Good stuff. How far from the main road do you live? Looks like nice weather there, we were low 40's today LOL. I threw up a real quick video of cold it was earlier this week -20 degrees Thursday morning, and -9 friday morning with out wind chill. In the video there is a couple of shots of the old John Deere tractor. I tried to start it today and the squirrels or tree rats ate some wiring since I parked it jan 4 for surgery. I now have one mission to wipe out all the squirrels in my yard and house my dog is not doing her job no more treats LOL Have a good one and stay cool lol

I too own a 65 Ford 3000 gas with horizontal exhaust almost identical to yours. I build trails and work up and plant food plots. I like how nibble it is for going through the woods. I have all the farming attachments including a loader. I took the loader off a few years ago and haven’t but it back on as I don’t need it often. I have an electronic full book on all the details of the tractor. If you send me your email address I would send you a copy. Thanks for sharing your informative saw videos. Jim

I have a chance to buy a Ford tractor 1510 right now should I buy it guy says its a 35 horsepower can u put a front end loader on these tractors ? Also will new attachments fit on this model guy says its a 2000 model any info would be helpful thank u I have a sawmill will be using it to load the sawmill skid etc...

This look soo familiar :) , my Ford 3000 looks a little shabbier than yours due to some pain flaking. Did you ever had problems with the clutch getting stuck after storing it for a while ? I am hoping I can unstuck mine by jerking it back and forth a bit, but if that does not do it ... the perspective of splitting it does not sound appealing ( mine has a front end loader, I do not have a proper shop close by etc ... )

@@falllineridge It is a bit big to maneuver in the forest, but quite handy to push yourself backwards inch by inch when you get stuck in the mud :)

BillyFromAHillyPlace Sometimes you can break the clutch loose if you can be pushing against a tree and pop the clutch in and out while in 1st gear

Hey i have a ford 3000 and i have some issues with the hidraulic its realy slow. The seals and oil ring have been replaced and the oil pump is working do you have any ideas?

Check the flow across your pressure relief valve also test pump pressure when you dead head it

Dump that gravel at the back of the holes , then set the scoop flat on the ground behind it and drag/spread it forward before box blading.

I had a ford 5,000 68 hp and could do more work than my new newholand 70 hp 4x4. The 5,000 had a Slectaspeed transmission that finely went out and wluld have cost more then fix than the tractor was worth.

It's not a little tractor :( it's a 40hp pto, they don't build them like they used to, I'm about to resleeve mine this winter, I don't think mines ever been rebuilt. It has a good amount of blowby

Fall Line Ridge But you got the job done using what tools / resources you had available, & I have great respect & admiration for that kind of can do attitude, having farmed 20 odd years myself with just an old 20Hp Ferguson TEA 20 kerosene/petrol powered WW2 era tractor & minimal equipment! Also used a jib crane on 3pl to shift logs under my portable sawmill, for those 20 years. Retired now, but I sense a “kindred spirit” & REALLY enjoyed your video, brought back many fond memories of my years on our 28 acre deer farm here downunder! I even had 6 of your whitetail deer for a while! Keep up the good work! Any fool can just buy the latest greatest equipment- but it takes true grit to make do & make sh!t happen, with what you have to hand!! Teddy Roosevelt’ probably said it best! “"The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion, spends himself in a worthy cause; who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement; and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who have never tasted victory or defeat." dowdawg The spot you saw was just a few clear cut acres that is being planted as a Christmas tree farm. The rest of the land is hardwoods and pine.

I have a Ford 4000 1970 model,with lights like this 3000,made in England,but with an 78hp engine,replaced the genuine engine.It works like a mule!

As long it has blue fenders its a super dexta! White fenders came later with the new name without super dexta.

You should build a log trolley to pick up the back end of logs. It would same a lot of wear and tear on your rock road.
