@chickletta4 жыл бұрын
@@mfleurizard how much do you actually know about Korean traditional dances that have been around for centuries? I assume not a lot. I've seen traditional performers and a lot of moves here (and especially in the original video) are ABSOLUTELY same or based on them. People all over the world are using, being inspired by what people in other parts of the world have invented over the course of our shared history as humans. Why does everything have to be labeled 'cultural appropriation"? The Chinese invented silk, the Egyptian paper - so please, following your own logic - next time you wear silkn or wipe your ass, drop it because you're culturally appropriating. What nonsense. From food, cloth, clothes, technology to song and dances - everything is intertwined and used internationally. Cultural appropriation is the most damaging and most dividing concept ever invented. So are now guys around the world who sport BTS hairstyle and makeup also guilty of culture appropriation?YOu don't see BTS or Koreans moaning about it.

They are performing at Gyeongbokgung palace in Seoul! That is the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty! The palace is located right next to Seoul's "White House" called the Blue House in the city hall area. Most people probably aren't mentioning this because they're not aware of the historical significance, but they really went above and beyond for this performance! Last time, they rented out grand central station in NYC, and this time they rented out a palace. Truly royalty! Wikipedia: Gyeongbokgung palace, also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, was the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. Built in 1395, it is located in northern Seoul, South Korea.
There is nothing about this performance that isn’t outright perfect. They made a huge statement about their heritage, their identity and their status. And they slayed. Only thing, Tonight Show - you should put the subtitled translation … it doesn’t take that much effort. You can do that in no time.

It's so meaningful that they chose this song. In front of the palace? Wow, they are really spreading these beautiful parts of their culture on western TV. This was my first comeback and it has a very special place in my heart, because singing "you can't stop me loving myself" all the time for an entire summer will do something to you, especially if you usually have a hard time loving yourself. performing IDOl in front of the palace is a statement and very telling of them as an artist. the palace that's significant to their country's history, the modernized 'hanbok' outfits which is a traditional korean clothing & the fact that the song itself has elements of traditional korean instruments shows how proud they are of being korean, of their identity. PLUS the message of the song itself IDOL, not letting anyone stop u from loving yourself, of being proud of yourself, breaking the stereotype of being an idol group and not caring abt what they say. Because in korea there is a stereotype against 'idol groups'. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. IM SO PROUD OF YOU BTS 💜

YES! Look at this as a statement performance: they may have released a song in English that reached number 1 for 3 weeks an 1 in 2nd place. But this is a reminder, they're proud of being koreans, so that you can see in the energy they put in the performance, the clothes they're using, the background they choose. And the meaning of idol, this is not an ordinary performance. This is a statement. And I support this. GO TELL THEM MA BOYS! * Singing in korean * seriously bruh?

A pre-release song, Set Me Free pt. 2 is coming out on March 17. And, Christmas Love and Promise, those well-loved songs on Soundcloud, will be on streaming apps on March 6. Make sure to pre-save, buy, and stream! I just know I’m gonna go crazy over “Like Crazy” the title track, which has Korean and English versions. Hope to see him promoting on your show, Jimmy Fallon!

Wow. Seriously, ever since BTS started filming their appearances on American TV in Korea because of Covid their performance quality has skyrocketed into infinity. Not that their studio perfs in the past weren't excellent as well. But it simply hits different when their team has complete control over things like filming location, camera angles and movement, sound mixing, stage size etc. Give them the freedom they need and that's what you get: kings performing in front of an actual royal palace!
@ullasini6234 жыл бұрын
Riachan93 Totally agreeable ! They rocked this performance.
Agree. Not just bts. Seems like every other artist too. Their performance quality is *chef kiss* it seemed like its better to let most artist have full control on how their performance supposed to look like. Its their song and they know their artistry the best.

BTS are showcasing to the world their Korean identity and cultural heritage. They are showing the world the Korean royal palace called 'Gyeong-bok-gung' from Joseon Dynasty from 14th century through 19th century, and traditional Korean clothing called 'Hanbok'. They also have several Korean traditional musical instruments mixed in for this song. They are not as westernized as haters often claim. They are still Koreans who are proud of their cultural heritage and they are showing the world how much they cherish their country and culture. So, haters who criticize them for being too westernized, just shut tf up!

Please watch their MMA 2018 live performance with live traditional Korean instruments, traditional dancers & cultures💜 N.b: IDOL also included ‘gwara gwara’ dance & Afrobeat from African culture, they said it in cb interview♥️

Am I the only one or the more BTS is maturing and growing the better their performances are becoming? I mean I love their previous idol performances, but this one tops them all.

@Debbie Little I meant to tell that in American performances their audience sound is sooo loud that u can't hear ur boys In that way I told it better
@angielical_4 жыл бұрын
Thats because the cameramen in Korea are definitely better, just watch their performances in Korean shows
@angielical_4 жыл бұрын
Mrudali Rathod In Korea they are really loud too, just watch the fancams of MAMA or MMA and you’ll see, it’s just that they shut the audience out when they upload the actual video

This is one of the many reasons why I love BTS. Everything they do turns into pure gold. Love them or not, it has to be said they are 7 extremely talented men. They create awesome songs, dance well, and sing well. (No lipsyncing in this house.) While performing they exude so much charisma that you (well I) just can't stop watching. I will never tire of watching them perform because even when I watch the same performance over and over it always feels like I am watching it for the first time.

This song is how much they celebrates their Korean identity & heritage. As global artists, they are declaring with as much Korean pride as they can, “You can't stop me loving myself!”

“Gyeonghoeru" [the place where they performed] is a pavilion in Gyeongbokgung palace, on the pond west of Gangnyeongjeon (the main hall). This is where the kings had feasts for foreign envoys or with court officials. cr:@Vernal_Bom (tw) "Geunjeongjeon, the throne hall where official royal events like coronation ceremonies were held during the 1392-1910 Joseon Dynasty, has rarely been opened to a pop artist for a performance."

BTS's music may not be what you like, and that's fine, but anyone who looks down on them is just purposely avoiding the truth. BTS are absolute professionals. They are a bunch of super talented and hard-working dudes. The energy and charisma they have on stage is insane. Unless you're trying to hate for the sake of it, you can't dislike their live performances. They are true performers. The fact that they are this big and still remain very humble and genuine is also a huge plus.
@zoemercado91804 жыл бұрын
YES YES YES YES YES!!! regardless of what genre you like, or whether you just dislike BTS for some reason, respect them as professional artists just like you would respect other big name artists. they dedicate so much of their time and energy to their performances, and honestly as you said, you’d most definitely be lying when you say they aren’t ‘hard-working, well respected performers.’ PREACH IT SIS!
