I don't know why so many people are hating on this. They weren't "as good" as the original...so what? I absolutely loved the original routine, but the comparing and criticisms are a bit too harsh. These guys took an EXTREMELY old bit and breathed a little life into it, paid homage, and showed that old classic comedy can still be funny. They took a huge risk, knowing that the majority of their audience probably have no clue where the material came from. And I'm sure that the comedians did their best. For them, it was likely a huge honor to do this. They were obviously having a good time, and they were pretty darn good in my opinion, given that they had zero time to rehearse this, compared to the years of practice A&C put into the bit. Good job, I say, even if it "wasn't as good". They weren't trying to copy the original, and they were aware they weren't as good. They paid tribute, and they made people laugh.

My only nitpick is when Seinfeld says he's "I Don't Know", and then everyone shouts "Third base!" As a reference to the classic, it makes sense to everyone that has seen the original, but in the context of the skit itself, it doesn't work out as well because it lacks the buildup that that particular joke needed and got in the original.

Agreed. The routine was funny because in the original, Lou still didn't understand it but as the routine went on, he went along with it like he did understand it...why explain the joke without anything to really make up for it. That's your opinion. From my point of view, it's irrelevant how "good" or "bad" Fallon & Company performed the piece. The fact that Who's On First? is still revered 75 years after Abbott & Costello made it a legend is a testament to the duo's singular skill and less about the quality of their loyal fans' homage. Recently, one of my sons participated in his school band's performance of _Eine Kleine Nachmusik_. How "good" or "bad" they played isn't the point. What's important is that they loved Mozart's music enough to honor him 225 years after his death.

I liked this sure not the same as the original but funny as hell though, we got to meet the players and it could have gone further but they didn't would have been funnier though if they did. . . . . . .

Every joke gets better when it's explained. The three guys painstakingly draining all the comedy by saying that there names are who, what, and I don't know was necessary and completely vital to my understanding of the timeless joke.

Great remake of the comedy classic! Great comedians to take on Abbott and Costello!

Abbott and Costello did it better. Much better. So much better. So very, very much better. I mean, I get the idea of this, and if you hadn't seen Abbott and Costello before, you might think this was hilarious. But I have seen Abbott and Costello. Their timing and camaraderie was natural, impeccable, and it flowed much like my urine stream first thing in the morning: Fast, strong, and full of character. This version? Perhaps if I had an enlarged prostate, for this was thin and weak.

The fact that Jimmy is a terrible actor doesn't help.

True, no one can do this as well as the Original team. However, I still enjoyed it for what it is. A tribute to two GREATS, and an entertaining moment in the spirit in which the original was intended.

If you didn't see Abbott and Costello you would only get the "third base" reference at the end in an abstract way.

On the whole, yes this does fall somewhat short to the original gag. However just due to the talent involved and their practiced timing along with some clever writing there are a few moments of piss your pants funny here. Maybe this should never have happened and certainly may not ever again but it was fun for two minutes and 58 seconds!

BlokeOzzie Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. It was a tribute.

I can't stand when the mouth-breathers in the audience won't stop applauding. They're trying to do a comedy bit. Shut up!
