It happens to Scottish people too. My dad was queueing to get some street food in Osaka, Japan and spotted one of his neighbours, who also happens to be the son of my dad’s friend, in a queue for a nearby stall. He walked up to him, tapped him on the shoulder and said, “Your dad told me to keep an eye on you.” Apparently the poor guy’s face turned white. 😂 Maybe it’s a Celtic thing. 🤔

My Aunt and Uncle emigrated from Ireland to Perth in Australia in the late 70's. About 10 years ago they go to their local pub and are served by a new barmaid. When they hear her accent they tell her they're Irish too and ask her where in Ireland she's from. She tell's them and my aunt says, "Oh wow. My Sister and her husband and my nephews are from x town too. They own a shop near the Seafront. The Barmaid replies, "Your not 'Calibos' Aunt are you!!!! A few years later the Perth Aunt and Uncle go out to have dinner with my uncles Boss and family. The Bosses daughter brings her new Boyfriend to the dinner. Turns out he's Irish. They ask him where in Ireland he's from and he tells them. "Oh Wow. My Sister and her husband and my nephew's are from x town too. They own a shop near the seafront. The Bosses Daughters Boyfriend replies, "Calibos' Newsagents? LOL. They've leased that building from my family for decades. My Mother is their landlady!" Perth Aunt and Uncle retire back to Ireland in 2012. Their son (my cousin) came over to ireland this June to visit them with his wife and kids for a 5 week holiday. One of the days on a whim, they all headed up deep into the beautiful Wicklow mountains for a hike. Cousins Wife walks into a workmate from back in Perth down some remote hiking trail. Friend vaguely aware that cousins wife was visiting her Irish inlaws sometime this Summer. Cousins Wife vaguely aware that workmate was doing a walking tour of Europe sometime this Summer. Meeting in the arsehole of nowhere up some mountains in Ireland definitely not planned. LOL 15,000 kilometres away!!

My ma and da were staying in a resort in lanzarote, they kept slagging the couple in the apartment underneath them as they were constantly sitting on the balcony playing the same few songs over and over again, the couple turned out to be my da's brother and his wife who he hasn't seen in roughly 8 years! So they reminisced with each other for the rest of their holidays and now it's been 2 years since they last seen each other lol.
