The funny thing is that, as an avid alt rock fan, when my high school thespian's club did our annual trip to LA to see some plays and go to the Groundlings theater, we saw Will, Chris Kattan and Cheri O'Teri perform at Groundlings in 1995 before they joined the SNL cast. So a few years later when I turned on SNL and they were all on it, I thought "No way the big dude who looks like Chad Smith is on SNL now!" Thought that from the second he walked on the Groundlings stage. What a treat to watch him perform before he became famous.
