Yeah he could've been a good companion especially since he doesn't know how to deal with the information about his true self. He could've come with the Player and he would probably need a Good karma requirement

Same, I only found out about Fallout 3 companions years after playing the game. New Vegas did them way better.

You didn't mention which companions can/cannot be recruited after a change in karma. For example Butch will not follow you again after you dismiss him, but Clover will. I usually get evil karma from stealing, hire Clover, then play the game normally as a good character.

I didn't even know that some followers can't be recruited again? I've never had that issue, normally I can just go back to them and recruit them again when I need them

@SimplyVaulted it's not permanent; if your karma changes back you can recruit them again.

Yea, I'm like 20 hours in and I guess I just don't explore enough because I haven't found a single companion. Not that it's really a bad thing, for now. Probably need Fawkes sometime down the line.

Two good karma companions are unlocked through the main quest. An evil one wanders around megaton straight away.

Jericho is litterally in Megaton, his house is next to yours. Steal a bunch of stuff, strong-arm Silver for 400 caps, then reverse pickpocket her with a grenade for lying to you...and for 100 more caps. You could get the 1k caps and bad karma within 30 min of starting a new game.

there is a mod for here an its not so bad its saved me a few times to have her along with the unlimited ammo mod hate giving ammo when its hard to find.

Hey why did paladin randomly disappear? I was doing the mission where you go into the simulation and I had to kill a bunch of people and now she is gone where so I go and get her again

I'm assuming it's the karma requirement. She probably has a high level, and so killing them causes bad karma. You can do the main quest simulation by looking around and not do anything the 'girl' says, and eventually you'll find the hidden shutdown button

After recently finishing first playthru of New Vegas, I installed TTW mod and jumped into FO3... I just completed last DLC and have had no companions along the way. It was an accident, but should make for a very different second playthrough. fwiw - When I started FO3, I immediately headed out into the Wastelandwhile, as you do... and very soon (very early) accidently fell into Operation Anchorage. I didn't realize it was DLC and so - I essentially started the game with the Chinese Stealth Armor. Oops! I did pick-up Fawkes but he got lost and stuck under the map (in a sewer maybe?) - spent hours trying to find him. By then I had the Infiltrator+, so I just stealth soloed the whole game. Anyway - just took the Explorer perk and gonna grab some companions and the Rock-It Launcher, Pool Balls and Teddy Bears and clear out this map - so Thanks!

5:30 I can't believe I forgot about that one! I've never used it before and I wish I would have remembered it before I started my current playthrough. I'm too far in with good karma to get it now! Shame. ED-E was my favorite in New Vegas and I would have like playing through 3 with another robot.

I mean you can always lost a bit of karma and then just give water to a beggar a handful of times in order to get your karma back up to good again unless you're roleplaying then I get it

@@SimplyVaulted Not really roleplaying. I just naturally take the good karma path in games more often than not. I installed a mod to get around the karma limits but wound up sticking with dogmeat and Charon. I only used him once back then and I forgot just how good he was. The next time I play it I'll be sure to use the robot.

Hello, I have a problem. Do you remember the mission when enclave kidnapped you i have sergeant rl-3 as follower When they kidnapped me, he disappeared and I did not find him in the same place. When I repeated the mission, I made him wait for me, and when I returned to the place where I made him wait I did not find him. Is it a problem with the game or what?

Any companion you have should return to their original recruitment location so the sergeant should be outside the RobCo Facility. If not then it may be bugged I've not encountered that before

Don't forget that comapnions in Fallout 3 can die. But honestly you can finish up the game 100% without any companions.

They only die when you're playing on a hurdle difficulty if you play on the easiest difficulty and actually just screw around with the game they won't die they just go down

Once you've escaped Raven Rock any follower you had should return to where they originally came from. So just head back to Megaton and Jericho will either be walking around or in Moriarty's Saloon. If you have destroyed Megaton he will be wandering around outside the ruins.
