@TheBreakingBennyАй бұрын
The _few_ times we had use for Charisma would include its most notable one in Fallout 2, which dictated your companion limit by halving the stat and rounding down to an even integer if odd. A Charisma of 1 meant no companions at all without "Magnetic Personality".

I think my favourite VATS moment in fallout 3 was on the bridge into the pit dlc. I saw the sniper but only one of my weapons had enough damage to deal with them: the fat man. I had 95% chance to hit and fired. VATS followed the nuke and my face dropped as the nuke fell well below the target, only to hit the bridge and the cloud to take them out. Fallout 3 is a post apocalypse whereas New Vegas is a post post apocalypse. I think that is the distinction, ones focus is a society rebuilding after the great war and the tribes and fractions that arise from that repeating the same mistakes of prior civilisations. Whereas fallout 3 is people trying to survive Americans most heavily hit location, saturated with radiation, mutated animals and people and radiers. The stories being told here are how people survive in such a world day to day, I think my only major issue with fallout is its setting, I wish it were set maybe a hundred years prior, much closer to the great war. I just feel like 200 years is too long after the great war to have a society still struggling so far into the future

@rjayyyy9623Ай бұрын
@@EanFox7I mean, the story is pretty bad - it's not even the simplicity of it, some of it is just badly written. Even though NV has the best writing and most memorable factions I think people rag too hard on Fallout 3. I'm currently writing a fan fiction about Charon's life (cringe, I know, get ur laughs out now) and I justify the Capital Wasteland still being so broken and underdeveloped as it being so heavily bombed that people don't even try to settle there until more than a century after the war. That plus the persistent threats and horrible standard of living making people go insane and turn to raiding and I don't think it's surprising why things are the way they are. 35:45 I think this quest speaks to a really uncomfortable but relevant truth. And that's how marginalized groups can act just as terribly or even worse than the big man keeping them down. In real life history there are many examples of this

New vegas was my first Fallout experience and it's phenomenon game and it's not disapointed at all after heard so many people praise the game but then I like to try Fallout 3... and the moment I start is really bad because you need to download some mod just to launch it on windows 10, and since I only play vanilla in everygame with not a single mod... that's really bad start, but when it finally run I have a blast of fun while adventuring in capital wasteland and the game run smoother than New vegas! but things get really bad when enter D.C. Ruined too many walls that make me want to scream and walking in 100 copy paste tunels wasn't fun at all but in the end I still like the game, and DLC is awsome! it's not too long for add-on content I just go in and kill all aliens on the ship then doing space fight, The Pitt is give me a great moral decision, Broken steel is action non stop, Operation anchorage give the best armor in game, Point look out is scary but it can go back and fourth when ever I like Meanwhile in New vegas I only like two DLC,Lonesome road and Honest heart,Old world blue is killing my PC the framerate is drop to 15 for the entire time except in The Think tank but the worst thing is it give me the worst fetch quest in gaming history! ALL MY FRIEND HAVE OFF SWITCH! they just sent me to collect 12 tapes and the reward is talking with stuff!? and I can't avoid that quest! and then after finish it the game gave me another quest which is collect another 12 tapes!? I hate it so much and Dead money is scared me too much I hate it

@ so when f3 was being made people from the originals were there helping. 4 is not the case and is totally Bohemia. Which i suspect why f3 is so grueling and gritty and seems faithful to the emotional intent of the original. Versus 4’s arcade garbage. I’d like to imagine how 3 would have been without that oversight and the guilt factor of destroying the product with the people in the room
@EanFox7Ай бұрын

The ending is ass without the DLC.

@dudemankewl6291Ай бұрын
@EanFox7 Yeah. I pre odered Fallout 4 and bought the season pass. The game play and power armor were a huge upgrade. Outside of the voice acting and history being pre set, it's really not all that bad. Just, hopefully they listen to consumers and make the next one better. Frankly, it seems like every new sequel they make the game dumber. Oblivion to Skyrim and Fallout 3 to 4 prime examples. Fallout 4 I had to force myself to like it just based on the expectations set by 3. I can't say it was forced. I spent at least 600 hours give or take.

I was attracted to the console Fallouts bc i wanted “survival” mechanics. I started with NV, then 3, before finding the holy grail, Fallout 4. But that is my subjective opinion. I’m not going to yuck your yum if 3 is your thing. I’m no NV fanboy.

For me, the clunkiness of fallout 3+NV added to the survival horror pressure of the game similar to the clunky tank controls of resident evil. I think that’s what kept me coming back for years, the difficulty level caused by the lack of refined, smooth controls. Many people will disagree with this but I believe this is one of the biggest downfalls of fallout 4, it’s just way too easy and smooth feeling.

Finally, someone says it. NV fan boys totally downplay 3, there is a reason bethesda got rid of Obsidian fallout 3 is the best one. Most nv fans never playes or watched 1 or 2 either. Both are better than 4, i even think 76 is better than 4. 4 feels like a mainstream fps, not an rpg. Fallout 2 was dark and had the best antagonist, Frank Horrigan. Fallout 3 is king! I forgot to mention, the super mutants in 3 have hilarious conversations too, "all you ever do is talk, like a stupid human" , or stumbling into Andale the town full of cannibals, or little lamplight, there is so much wacky funny stuff in it, or the vault full of Garys , but its horror and comedy and science all at once, dont even get me started on the DLC, best console game ever made IMO! They put so much love into this game and its characters, its truly something special. Thanks for the great representation of Fallout 3
@EanFox7Ай бұрын
I’m glad you love it as much as I do! I’ve never believed that because something else is great that anything else that isn’t as good is immediately garbage. You hit the nail here.
@rjayyyy9623Ай бұрын
They didn't "get rid of" Obsidian. If they did, it was purely out of spite because overall New Vegas is a better game. You're just being a Fo3 fanboy 😂 - you're blinded by your own distaste for the FNV fandom. I love Fo3, and it's actually my favourite game in the series - for it's atmosphere, worldspace and adventures alone though. In all reality, it has some awful writing with regards to its main quest. The writing in general can be quite campy, and doesn't hold much weight against NV's script in any sense. You're trying to make out that FNV fans haven't played Fo1/2, but I'm questioning whether you have because comparatively, Fo1 is far darker than Fo2, and Frank Horrigan is barely an antagonist - he's just a boss fight. The Enclave itself is the antagonist - Fank Horrigan is in the game for about 2 minutes lol.

None of the other games in the series really come that close to the top 4 (maybe Fallout 4 for new fans and Tactics for weirdos). 76 is mediocre and BoS is ass that 98% of the fans haven’t played anyway.

To me, of the 3d Fallout games, Fallout 3 is the best by far imo. Personally I prefer Fallout 1 and 2, but that just comes down to preference since they are a completely different type of RPG. I enjoyed NV and Fallout 4 but NV lacks the world of Fallout 3, and Fallout 4 lacks most of the decision making which affects the story in meaningful ways. I wish we could get a game that has Fallout 3’s depth and gameplay mechanics with a world the size of Fallout 4. I prefer Fallout 3’s battle mechanics a lot more than Fallout 4’s shooter mechanics. Fallout 3 is a little bit more like Elder Scrolls 3’s battle mechanics with guns. It’s not supposed to feel like an fps like Halo or COD. It’s an rpg.
