They should've made it that robots with unique personalities minus companions when on death will drop their matrix and you can implement their matrix to your own robots.

Well Cars are fusion powered. If they were some sort of oil but then that might be even harder given fallouts Pre-war history, I’m fairly certain cars were not powered by fusion cores though.

I have, well had a robot named Arnold. He never died and was super op. I played on survival and went to the mechanist lair. Then Arnold vanished from this plane of existence. What did I think, what just happened, where is Arnold. I looked to a higher power, Todd Howard, and he said "The Automatron DLC is glitchy, and makes your robots that you used tons of resources you worked your ass off to get to build with, just vanish from this plane of existence." and I replied "F*******************ck"

Also, my personal build: All parts sentry except assaultron legs. All plates warmonger. Hammersaws for weapons and Ahab's head. Absolutely devestates everything. I know this is similar to your melee robot build. It was... heavily inspired, what with the hammersaws and Ahab's head.

My personal Big Daddy recreation uses assaultron legs so that it's actually useful. It's name is daddio, but that's mainly because it was refitted from another robot named Dio due to a lack of materials.

You should try my main robot build, SK-021 "Simiks". He's pretty powerful and tanky. When built you can Activate Personality Subroutine. It will confront you with this if it is a new bot. If it is an old bot and you modified the voice you must manually change it. Speak with it and it should be in the talk section. Hope this helps and if this was a troll...Well done.

I have a Sentry bot that is basically Ahab with dual explosive gatlings and shoulder Fatman launchers as well as the Assaultron Laser head. It literally looked in the general direction of a behemoth and it just fell over and died on Very Hard.
