The worse thing with Fallout 4 is getting weapons from DLCs like the handmade rifle from Nuka World or the Lever action rifle from Far Harbor. But the ammo only drops in those regions not in the Commonwealth. So you can find legendaries with good bonus stat but since you cannot make the ammo or find it as loot, they are useless until you go to Far Harbor or Nuka World. Which is kind of endgame content not to be done during the main story.

Ikr, even with ammo perks or the automation, the dlc ammo is INTENTIONALLY smaller in amount for the weapons you need like the Splattercannon or bowlingball fatman. I think his name is Paul Redinski as the combat designer, but he gives butt-ton of contradicting claims that this was his unfinished designs that non-Todd Howards told him to do. How many people were brain-fupped by Todd?

There are mods that put the DLC weapons and ammo in the Commonwealth. The hard part is if the Solar Cannon is added and then there’s a chance enemies will be armed with it. The Gunners and BoS are particularly good with that gun.

Their is a glitch where u can duplicate ammo or pritty much anything by using the manufacturing machine from the work shop dlc I think it's that one it should be on youtube I use it all the time to get my ammo up to about 50k.

I really hope "next gen" actually means game engine optimized for modern hardware. Creation is woefully inefficient with hardware and how scripts are handled, which is main reason for its poor framerate, and no small amount of glitches. There's only so much optimizations modders can do by combining objects, and adding roombounds and previses.

@@Arouth249 to right dude, i hope they have really went at stabilizing the game, cause this game is nutritiously bad for crashing. i can play 3 new vegas and 76 without any issues, but 4 is cursed. any time i go anywhere near hub 360 in that area, the game spazzes out and has a heart attack. one time i did the quest to move the ship from where it is to downtown on the roof, and bam down town was a no go zone.

Considering how much people like to share things these days, I'm curious to see how Bethesda will tackle settlement builds and HOW players can save their builds and SHARE it with their friends. For now, CDante's Transfer Settlement Blueprint mod is the ONLY mod that I need to keep a proper record of what I have built over the course of my 4500+ hours of playthrough for this game.

I have finally decided to replay 4 in survival(no mods or dlc). I wish that I had played survival years ago. It feels like survival was the intended way to play. Everything I do now has high risk and even higher rewards.

Its the only way I play and from the countless hours of experience doing it i can offer some tips. This maybe long lol 1: Carry at least 3-5 antibiotics at all times since you'll be getting sick a lot 2: pick up everything that's low weight (this will be helpful for tip 3) 3: food and water are important and must be managed. Best option is Diamond City's robot. Buy noodle cups. They replenish both thirst and hunger. Only issue is it becomes expensive. Hence why pick up everything. 4: early game have at least two weapons of different caliber. Enemies are much tougher and you'll find yourself without ammo for one weapon early in the game 5: avoid deep exploration early game. Enemies are much tougher and venturing too far South, West or East you'll find yourself dying a lot. 6: obviously saving can only be done in beds. So plan trips and whenever you do find a bed always save. 7: the aqua perk which allows you to take no radiation damage from water is really good. Enemies are much stronger and you'll find yourself having to retreat to water from fights a lot. Radiation is taxing on survival and you don't want to waste resources early game. 8: endulge in settlement building. It's a great ways to level up and you'll need to get to higher levels before you can travel further to fight stronger enemies. 9: avoid companions early game (except dogmeat), companions are great but they hinder your carrying capacity which you'll need. 10: do menial mission. It can be boring but many quest missions early game will be difficult. Stuff like cleaning the water filter for the kid in diamond city, Return the cat to vault 81. The settlement missions for Sterges at Sanctuary can net much needed experience early game and have no risk involved. 11: commit to a weapon class in the early game and dump perk points into said class. 12: explosives are your friend. Always have grenades with you. Some areas with close quarters and high amount of enemies they will come in handy in avoiding getting ambushed. Example is Hardware Town where you retrieve the paint. 13: don't go into fights guns blazing. Try taking out enemies from a distance and have them come to you. Example, the area before you meet Paladin Danse where all the ghouls are will almost certainly result in death if you run in there guns blazing. Picking them off one at a time will increase your odds of survival. 14: don't be afraid to run away from battles. 15: Once you meet Dogmeat go back to Vault 111 and have Dogmeat retrieve the Cryolator gun but don't use it for every battle. Save its ammo since it's limited early game and only use it when in a pinch. PERK TIPS 1: Idiot Savant is very helpful early game since it will boost experience gained from tasks. Note: the lower your intelligence the better the odds of it triggering. 2: Bloody Mess is also a great perk to get early game since it boosts the over all damage you inflict on enemies. 3: Hacker and Locksmith are also great perks to get early game as well. Not only will it grant access to areas and things you otherwise couldnt access but it will also boost your experience points for levelling up. 4: Aqua Boy/Girl as mentioned above, sometimes you'll need to retreat from battles and a great way is through water and immunity to radiation from water will help tremendously. 5: because early game is the hardest you'll likely be using a pistol for a good portion of the early game. The Gunslinger perk is very helpful since it will boost the damage done with pistols. 6: Action Boy/Girl is also a great perk to have. Action points will regenerate much faster allowing you to do more. I.e vats, running, etc. 7: because I recommend not having a companion early game the Lone Wanderer and Strong Back perks are both great to have. They both increase carrying capacity and Lone Wanderer will grant you less damage during battles. Both of which are helpful when you need to carry as much as possible. 8: Scrounger is great too. Finding more ammo in containers is extremely helpful not only for the weapons you carry but also for gaining more money. Hope this helps a bit. One thing I'll point out is once you reach a high enough level (30-40) you basically become more or less invincible and the difficulty curve drops off hard. You'll be over powered and will be able to drop just about anything in the game besides enemies in the glowing sea. You'll even be able to drop Mirelurk Queen's by this time. Hope you have fun replaying on survival.

i hope they are also going to work on making the game far more stable. and i don't mean next gen update, i mean fixing a lot of these crashing and freezing issues. out of ps4 xbox one and pc, the only version i can play that doesn't crash like a red headed step child, is my pc, because i am simply brute forcing the game to run with high end specs. but for ps4 xbox one ps5 and xbox series s and x, it just crashes and locks up like mad. and that's on a fresh install with no cc items or mods.

Having said all that, I’ve always suspected that the creation club content adds to the freezing problems found in fallout 4, I don’t think it’s the actual cause mind you I just think it makes it worse. I hope they’re able to implement creation club content more seamlessly into the gameplay where it doesn’t affect vanilla play through’s so harshly. Just a theory of mine, mind you, I’ve been mistaken before.

I just picked this up for my steam deck as i had only owned it on console before so I am glad their will be plenty of new stuff coming and also those sweet graphics upgrades that I can take advantage of on my High end PC ryzen 9 5900x and Rx 6800. Well as a Fallout 4 lover and some one who has been disappointed by Bethesda a few times, with the Creation Club and not bring a few other Fallout games that they said they were making, but never did. So if Bethesda says they are fixing up Fallout 4 to make it run better so we can build up our settlements more, bringing new weapons and armor from Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Than they had better do it, because I am not seeing them in a good light these days. For Creation Club they said new content would be coming out every few months, but there hasn't been anything new since late 2020, it better have a whole lot of good content and what ever the update will be had better be amazing. I have enjoyed Fallout 4 for many years and I want it to get the love it needs. P.S. I think we need a remaking of both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I loved those games when I was younger and feel Bethesda should redo them for the modern gamer with a lot of things from Fallout 4 in to them, like not fixing your gear every 30 seconds. That is all Fallout lovers.

Bug fixes... don't make me laugh. Bethesda will simply fix a few longstanding bugs and in the process replace them with newer bugs in their place. This happened with Skyrim, and it will happen again with Hobo Simulator...er, I mean Fallout 4. Bethesda don't know how to not make any games with a ton of bugs and jank. This is just fact. I agree with you, Bethesda needs to take their time without rushing because with 'Starfield' being released and probably an unfinished mess, Bethesda must recognise time is a factor & they must communicate, be honest with us players. 'Starfield' release will push other plans back for Fallout, no doubt in my mind, but as long as Bethesda are working on it & not being lazy. This does push my '*********' series 1 back which my studios are working on but no one knows of this project, so I can relax for a few months. I am a Noob to the Fallout franchise by 2 months now, being I got pushed into purchasing & playing Fallout 4: GOTY Edition, which I Live Stream on the big purple T under a different ID. I have fallen in love with F4. Unfortunately, however, I have started production on a video calling out Bethesda's lack of interest in fixing bugs & glitches that have been around for 7 years at least. KZbin is full of complaints about the bugs & glitches. Here I am in mid-2023, playing F4 for the first time & the same bugs & glitches are still there. My stance is: No Mods & absolutely No Cheating, but I do use the Creation club because I love building & the creation club has some great looking housing interiors. I am mentioning this because I killed a bright green Deathclaw & won myself a Recon Marksman 98 hit point silenced Sniper Rifle. This Sniper Rifle has lvl 4 upgrades & it is the same weapon I am currently creating myself in game but I am only a lvl 2 gun nut. This gun, I won fair n square shuts down my Xbox Series X, as I discovered Live on my Stream earlier this week. The Gun is named in a long line of gibberish. My prized Sniper weapon of choice is seriously glitches. Lucky for me, I can prove I did not cheat acquiring this weapon. Watch out for my video on F4 coming before 'Starfield'.

I was hoping they test some technologies with the FO4 update they are using in Starfield. Like I could imagine they use "Direct Storage" (Files are loaded directly from the SSD to the Graphics Card, without CPU) for Starfield and could test it as a free update for FO4. This would be a dream for modders that use high resolution textures with complex parallax like the one from luxor8071. But the Fallout 4 TV series might change the focus on this update.

Oh, this makes me want to play even more I purchase fallout for many times are many different accounts on many different machine never got time to play it. Now that I do have it again on a series. X and S. I can’t wait for the update.

Hunting legies on survival no vats vanilla on my low-end old PC, I would like to find FOR SURE a legendary item on them. Plenty of time (level 60+) nothing to be found anywhere. (searched all bodies and NPCs nearby, because they loot but nothing) Not getting stuck on a car (or blasted by a lurking one) would be good. Also might avoid having to put an end to the misery of an old glowing deathclaw struck in a tree. And why is cooking evaporating rads ? And a 3 rank in Night Person. And why gunslinger bonus only for non-automatic ?

Honestly, i can't help but think that Fallout 4 will die when Starfield comes out and no-one's going to go back to play it even with the update and the TV show. Hope i'm wrong though. Also there's loads of mods coming like London and Miami and the Kellogg/Nick mod. it would suck if thoes mods gets finished and nobody actually plays them

I’ve been holding off on a new playthrough for this update…when they said it was coming in 2023, I was assuming they meant the first half of the year. It’s been almost 10 months since the announcement. Never did I think it’d be that long of a wait 🫠
