Whoa! I didn't know I could run ReSaver on a save while in that game. Do you need to save just before running the tool? I'm often wondering if the scripts are backed up, and this will be a great way to find out! Thanks man.

@@KuriusOranj Yes, just make a new save files and load that file into ReSaver. With the console command save SomeFileName, I can even quickly make a save named scriptcheck or something so I know exactly which to grab with ReSaver.

@@kinggath Dont know if you read comments bro but in sim conqueror the mission mechanized makeover the processing unit isn’t spawning therefore I can’t progress through the story I’m on Xbox but it’s also happening to people on pc and ps but the people on pc have console commands to spawn it in Xbox and PS4 don’t please just read this and fix this bug it’s ruining the mod

@@witherriderr6876 Unfortunately the issue doesn't happen when I test the quest - so there has never been anything I can do to fix it. It could be a mod conflict, or doing something in the game in a certain order. If someone can show me how I can trigger this bug I will fix it immediately. (ie. which mods we might have a problem with, or if there's something in the base game that can be done in an order that triggers the issue)

@@facemob7523 I only play on PC but I can tell you that more mods = more instability. Some mods just aren't compatible but playable for a few minutes before crashing. I've had over 200 mods loaded at a time with no problem but I add 5 new ones that come out and it destroys the game. Good Luck!

@@reapthewhirlwind6915 answer to why you play it is because it's fucking amazing at its core. So many elements that you can manipulate and create makes it feel like a Sims game with ultra gore. Adventure awaits around every 100meters and you can plot and plan an attack. Mods make it infinitely replayable.

Goes to prove that old posts that are solid endure as during my last FO4 rebuild, I added Sim Settlements for the first time and was stymied by a much smaller load order owing to a massive accumulation of added scripts. Thank you so much, the suggestion regarding the mod data helped fix my game. I couldn’t open mods, creation club, start a new game, or continue playing without an infinite loading screen. But after clearing some reserved space, it disabled my mods, allowing me to play. I came back to Fallout 4 after a while and stupidly had several big updates and absentmindedly hit update for all of them; updating all these mods pushed my mod space over the limit. Again, Thanks!

Here is another tip if you are going to run city plans go vanilla if you are running AAF or OSA in Skyrim or Fallout 4. If you want to use the pool mod, doctor mods, or CWSS all you have to do is replace the furnishings in the bathrooms or in the shops with the mods To use the pool mod just plop down some shack foundations and build from there. Once you have a blueprint installed delete it everything is where it is once the transfer is complete.

Random tip on a bug i noticed with a very heavily modded game (with merged patches & compatibility stuff, so it wasn't entirely the mods at fault). Occasionally it start to always crash to desktop on save (auto or manual), basically making the game unplayable. I noticed that if i were going to load my game twice in a row, it would behave and saves would work again. Not sure what's the logic behind that, but hey, if it can help someone, nice.

Thank you for this. I've seen several disgruntled gamers commenting mostly due to the conundrum which arises with Sim Settlements on Xbox with memory limitation. Its not your fault. It does explain a lot though. Xbox Fallout 4 is temperamental regardless no matter what load order. It has to be developed on PC and then it takes some work to port over to Xbox. Fun fact for xbox if you get locked on loading screen or initializing screen on. Open the xbox menu go to the game select manage games and add-ons then go to saved data and delete the file thats 2gig or bigger.

Kinggath I loved conqueror that mod was a game changer but MAN it made my game crash more than a drunk driver. It also made it impossible to quit to desktop without task manager. Still recommend the mod because it's like a night and day gameplay overhaul but MAN it made things unstable af

I still love this game, the trouble is I also love the mods but don’t have a PhD in computer programming so my game is pretty much screwed. My latest issue is the game crashes every time I try to enter one of the DLCs so I can’t go to vault 88 which sucks because that’s my favourite. Only option is to delete the mods I love or ignore the dlcs I bought.

You can still get infinite load screens on PC if you hit the script data limit. For XBox users it can just feel like their game is broken. Disabling some number of mods should allow you to load in again.

I needed this, I cannot confirm it worked for me on PC at the given time, because I have been sumo wrestling with my game for the passed few days attempting to figure out the direct issue. (CTD Upon loading up a save, outside of an interior cell. i.e DC, GN, etc.) Usually my crashes happen upon attempting to build/upgrade inside my Red Rocket Truck Stop, it will crash randomly, and due to this crash, the current save, and possibly other saves in an exterior cell have been completely shafted. (Presumably) THEN I have to reload an Interior save, in order to load into the game. A bit more advice would be nice, unless this video is the actual fix. Sorry if my long ass comment, is incomprehensible, I'm truly at my wits end here. Edit #1: Ah yes, forgot to mention I had (4) in the Active Scripts thing. Help would be nice, though this was over 3 months ago...

05:55 This was a thing for me and it took me while to encounter, because apparently SS2 all chapters pack has chapters 2 and 3 plugins disabled, SS2 Chapter 1 worked without issues. Also I tried to get rid of my more bigger mods like Fens Sheriff's department and cVc Dead wasteland, but it didn't help, it was only after disabling city plan megapack that I could start loading Chapters 2 and 3. I can't say if changing Load order would've helped, because I use Vorted that no longer allows manual load orders. Or if it does, I don't know how to create them.

The issue where the mods uncheck themselves when you open and reopen the game is not a PC only thing. I play fallout 4 on my Xbox series s and I have the same issue.

40 stacks of sim settlements workshop framework integration: faction control manager scripts are causing my infinite loading screen i think, and they are probably related to the settlement attacks. The thing is it doesn't go away even when idling and i have no idea why it burgeoned from 5 to 40 from a previous save, together with its related active scripts. Sad as i still wanted to complete the game after 85 hours but maybe its time to start afresh instead of wasting time debugging. At least now i know what's likely causing the issue lol. Thanks!

i have an issue i can consistently replicate with a very minimal load order (literally like 10 - 15 mods with most of them being fundamental things like the unofficial patch, darker nights, darker interiors, reverb & ambiance overhaul, armorsmith extended and its requirements) where i am able to play normally without issue for about four hours but everytime i get roughly to the point where i'm at lexington either doing brotherhood of steel quests or clearing out corvega i crash to desktop on loading a save. loading earlier saves yields the same result, starting a new playthrough allows me to play as normal until around the 4 or 5 hour mark again at which point i can no longer play at all because it starts happening again. i have found no help at all online for this problem and it is completely gamebreaking for me. i don't know if it's replicable with no mods because i don't care to play fallout 4 vanilla; i'd rather not play than play it out of the box. any help would be appreciated

Need help please, my mods will not download, xbox one, I try to download and it will reach a random percent then give the error this operation could not be completed. Small mods will download if it doesn't time out during download but SS2 takes too long to not time out at some point

If your console has been on for a long time, I'd recommend starting with that. I legit could not play fallout 4 because it wouldn't save, it would just crash anytime I saved... and then I realized my series x has been on for over a week 💀.

I think an alternate start mod was causing problems even after getting out of the vault, like causing problems with other quests (maybe could've been fixed with some load order shuffling, but I didn't try). However, spamming the A button on my XBox type controller seems to have gotten it going.

i am using some of your mods and love then but just 2 hours ago the unlimited build mod i been using stop working trying to fig it out and i use vortex if ur wondering hate copy and pasting. fixed it it was some how because some mods were out of date updated them and fix it still having issues with finishing you sim 2 mod were you build scrap found been done but npc hasn't said anything and quest hasn't updated.

Just your friendly neighborhood Bethesda nerd popping in to give a quick reminder: Don't use Quicksaves. Always do a hard save. Generally quicksaves in Bethesda games cause a progressive savegame corruption that you don't notice until your game is unplayable. On PC this is probably very easy as I'm sure there's a mod for PC that simply makes your quicksave hotkey do a hard save. X-Box, I dunno. Games that players have been running for a long time that just stop working or start developing severe issues often have this as the cause of the problems. Of course there's also the issue that, no matter what you do, after playing the game for a long time your saves will simply die. As Kinggath mentioned. I'm sure he can give you a more detailed explanation of why saves in these games can't hold over "X" amount of accumulated data. Don't really matter tho, all our saves are gonna die someday if we play long enough. And we're gonna play long enough. We, collectively, have a problem, hehe.

Sim settlements is unplayable for me. Can get very far into either version before it crashes and breaks all the saves. Also happens when it is not present and workshop framework is so that is the culprit. I avoid it like bill collectors since it can break saves you aren't even playing.

Hello people, I'm stuck having my mods reset every time I load a saved game after a particular save that I did before deleting a few mods from Vortex (Home maker, sim settlements and others). It's like I start playing normally, but, then I do a save game, after that I load that save game (which was loaded from my "particular save", which i did at sanctuary) all of my mods seems to reset, and armors/hair/ textures reset to the point that my character doesn't even have eyes. Can some one give me detailed help? It would be much appreciated!!!

Same issue here, just got back to FO4, downloaded a few mods and now many of my mods won't load, as in they'll be shown as enabled under "Mods" in both Vortex and in the games own list, but will fail to work, or act like I just installed them, i.e old mods giving me the first time intro quests / popups etc.

Are you playing a save that has mods removed from it? That always causes issues that just wont be solved. Don't remove mods during a particular run unless the mod creator specifically said it could be removed at any point.

@@HorrorshowEU So you've downloaded more mods and added them into an existing playthrough? Many of mods wont load at all and some of the old ones aren't working properly? There's a lot going on here... On top of making sure everything is up-to date and compatible you can try re-installing the mods and double checking the deployment of said mods within Vortex. As a general rule, do not change mods during a play though. Do not remove and even add to saves you aren't willing to lose. I'd also recommend not using Bethesda's mod menu either, just in case you also have mods there aswell as Vortex

@@Notallowed101 That is correct, I think it might have gotten messed up partly due to me switching from using NMM to Vortex. Few or none of the Vortex installed mods work, and the old ones act like they were just installed when I boot up a save. Other than installing a few new mods through Vortex, I didn't do anything, so no removing of mods etc. Also all the mods including the Vortex mods show up in the ingame mod list where they are checked and in the correct order, the plugins.txt also confirms this. I would just use the generic sim settlements 3 in 1 I haven't ever been able to Conqueror to work on xbox. Just the unfortunate effect of playing on console.

I have all of them built on my Xbox One S without any crashing - but that doesn't seem to be the same for everyone. Best I can suggest is to leave the default options during prebuild so that it doesn't exceed level 1 in any of the settlements.

I'm finding that not all my mods are loading every time. In particular the Place Everywhere Mod (which isn't an esm esl I don't think). Same with MCM; sometimes they don't open! So annoying, and now I know my pristine loadorder is tainted. But where!

There is some really cool Warhammer 40k mod that I have downloaded but the custom textures for the weapons and power armor would not load and I can't find out how to fix it. (I'm an Xbox player btw)

What about when enemies are significantly leveled higher than you, is that a conflict or a glitch and they always have a skull icon next to their health bar

When I add a weapon replacer mod to weapon that is already loaded in the game after leaving the vault it just won’t work at all. Do weapon replacer mods only work on new saves or am I missing something?

Is there a mod that prevents the game from CTD? like instead of CTD load "?" Texture or if script is bad => ignore script. I have spent over a week trying to replay Fallout 4 and I had installed mods with crashing within ~1 min after I start walking around. So I reinstalled mods carefully, 3 times. no success. So I deleted all mods in Vortex, still crashed. So I manually deleted mods and verified game files with steam, crashed. I guess the next step is to manually delete all game files and reinstall from steam but that will take 3-4 days on my internet connection. I enabled script logging but that does not tell me why the game is crashing. Skyrim was not even this bad... wish there was a way to either tell me what is crashing the game or just prevent the crash and ignore the errors..
