FALLOUT 4: New VAULT-TEC WORKSHOP DLC New Items Overview! (Vault Building, Decorations, and More!)

Hey guys, I’m super excited to bring you my first Vault-Tec Workshop DLC video! Today I’m going to do a basic overview of every new item in the DLC. This should give you a pretty good idea if you want to grab this DLC if you haven’t already. But if you already have, I hope this video provides a basic rundown of how each new item works. Before we begin, this video is much longer than what you normally see on this channel, so I’ve left time stamps in the description below. Problems: - All my Vault Dwellers/settlers spawn outside the Vault walls (So.. In the cave system) - There's no new vault-style vendors, so I have to use the ugly shanty vendor stalls if I want stores - There's a lack of vault-items for specific rooms, like nursery items, or cafeteria or clinic items. They even give us toilets and bathroom signs, but no toilet stalls, or showers. My barber doesn't even have a mirror - I believe the settler cap is still 22, just like in any other settlement, so building a large vault just feels empty with such a little amount of dwellers living in it - Settlers have no personality, just like in vanilla Fallout 4

The miniature vault door snaps to the wide hallways, for use underground if you don't want your vault open to the cave systems.

I think a good addition patch for this dlc would be... The vault hallways and rooms, on the ceiling you can see a similar light which is unlit. I think that either they should be lit though power or be able to auto snap the lights onto the ceiling piece.

You can also raise One of your SPECIAL stats by 1 point at 1 time (if you use the Weight bench and gain 1 strength point you will loose that point when you ride the Bike and gain a point of Endurance) Also the bonus will apply over level 10 in an ability THe furniture you need to use is Strength: Use the Weight bench Perception: Sit in the Eye scanner Endurance: Ride the Bike Charisma: Sit in the Barbers chair Inteligence: Use the Overseers computer Agility: Use the Pumel Horse Luck: Use the Slot Machine

After you start the mission in vault 88, you can clear out all the sections and unlock every workbench, giving you TONS of room and items to salvage. It's enormous.

One thing i Love about This DLC You get a Huge Vault door that you don't just open it can also close and open at will unlike Vaults like 111 81 they can not close :3

+JV2017gameplay Hopefully they fixed the issue where items you place on surfaces like desks, tables, dressers etc no longer fall through the whole settlement...collected so much loot to decorate with and shit keeps falling through floors or disappearing grr!!

Great video, this DLC is definetley more ideal in terms of $5 im in the UK so it would be about £3.99 but with the mini questline and pre war furniture and decorations ive built a small clean non dirty little overseers home in sanctuary and its so much better with a home with windows and no holes in the wall haha 😂

The 2nd corner (open) in the beginning is an inside corner. Want to make room always start with the door else it will be hell to snap the pieces, you can move the door later if needed.

I mean honestly I really like this DLC but I kinda feel that its incomplete you can build a awesome Vault but eventually you don't feel like it's real and the Dwellers don't have personality for example when you visit Vault 81 it kinda pops and have life but with this DLC you feel like you are just building another settlement but anyway it's good to have it since the Vault are a great part of the Fallout franchise.

I've ran out of room in the first area but still have loads I need to build (more quarters, clinic, power room, ect) I've opened up all the areas but none of them seem big enough to fit rooms in. The corridors take up what little room this is.

19:30 ~ "Dispenser goes here!" Also, fun note, the water fountain can be used as drinking source and it doesn't forces an animation. Which is cool. Drink some water without getting stuck in an animation.

did you miss the new stores? they may be from the contraptions workshop but they look a lot like the guard post style basically a small block to stand behind with a sign) but i think they look cool enough to mention...

I was disappointed with the lighting in this game as a whole. Not just the dlc lights but mostly all. They are just not bright enough. The only two lights that are bright are the street light lamp and the normal standard light bulb. Other than that, I had to build a clean square light on all snapable pieces of vault rooms. I went though over 30 lights in one room.

I believe you need to assign the settler to the Barber chair either through workshop mode (or maybe the Vault management terminal)

Btw. The Charisma boost object is the Haircut Station. You'll get that Charisma boost every time you use said station even if you didn't get a new haircut.

On the overser´s walls there is a model that has some holes to put light bulbs, but they don't seem to be functional. there is a round spotlight that should fit there, and you can see it on other shelters placed in that position, but it looks like they didn't get that feature right.

rebuilding Vault 88 was a pain in the rear, after 8 hours i got sick of it , killed the Overseer stole her Vault plans and built my own house at Spectacle Island

30:35 when i was in vault88 i remember having 2 control posts at build menu one had windows to right & other1 to left & new i have just the ones with windows to right, is it a bug? or was the 2 control posts bug? i would like to make each different like the one i put right outside of my base to have window to right & left side post windows to left

Help: Im having a problem when she tells me to build the overseers desk and i do, it still tells me to build it. Im really frustrated with this. Also why do i keep having to go to the physical vault work bench to activate the workshop instead of holding the back button?

Hey JV, noticed you couldn't assign anyone to jobs. This is a widespread bug that happened after the last patch update was released. You will not be able to assign any jobs, supply lines, or move settlers at any settlement. :[

Actually most of this furniture and decorations were made available by the Settlement Supplies Expanded mod. Bethesda is thinking, why didn't we do that earlier?

do you need to play dlc quest to open some of the items on workshop or is it available since the very beginning? i have fallout 1.10 version. i am in the beginning of the game where you could build your settlement in sanctuary. vault tab is missing from the menu.

Yes you have to make all the experiment's and all in order to build the vault stuff besides the decorations which you always can place I think.

A lot of things to build and a really big area (really big, I'm thinking of having different vaults in the different zones you clear) but a lot of the items are just vanilla items but cleaner, the experiments machines are only 3 and it's a pain in the ass to build and snap different tipe of rooms. I'll give a 7.5, because I basically got this DLC for free back when the season pass was 30$.

Sean Newboy Yeh its looking like one or more mods is causing the problem. There are a couple of 'menu fixing' mods for the Xbox 1 but neither of them worked for me. Its cool though I'm well aware mods are my problem not Bethesda's, its been totally worth it and not having the vault items is just going to mean I will have to get creative while building inside that huge place :)

Just a heads up with the new barber chair,when i use it and select a new hair style, my character gets stuck on the chair and will just sitthere. i accidentally quicksaved and will lose a lot of progress if I load an older save. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue. just becareful using the barber chair. im oN ps4 no mods

29:37 robot DLC should have changed this terminal a bit & add options for robots separately like 4 unemployed robots, cause when i want a use terminal to assign jobs to them its huge pain like example for guard posts i add 4 to guard & i have 8 including settlers & this sys takes them randomly so i can have 2 or 3 humans & 2 or 1 robot in guard post & that's huge pain in the ass, well some build ares are so large that u can make base smaller a bit to fit them outside

Same for me, are you using any mods? I tried disabling mine, it didn't help but it did cause me all sorts of other problems trying to get the mods working correctly again XD I've tried Bethesda, Facebook and Reddit and can't find a solid answer.

S-PRO Gaming Use a few armor and weapon mods but nothing big and no settlement mods. I tried going to a save without mods but that didn't help. And just like you I've searched everywhere but I've got nothing. Someone please help!!

Soul Of Cinder See I am using a LOT of settlement mods that add a tonne of items in all sorts of categories and some have their own category. This has been known to conflict with previous DLC's but patches by the mod authors were released very quickly to fix the problems. this time its like no one knows!

paint464 I've been looking for a fix all night and I've tried everything I can. The only thing I can think of with my game is that its somehow conflicting with the S.O.E Pack which I updated today, there are a few comments on that mods page on the Bethesda site from people saying since updating it they lost the vault tec tab in structures. Hopefully there will be a fix for this problem soon because if a mod is causing the problem then Bethesda will not do anything, it will be down to someone to create a patch/fix mod for the issue and replace the vault menu.
