I can confirm this still works on ps4. The caps go to the workshop inventory, so if you're getting the glitch to work (both confirmation boxes showing up) then you are getting your money back, it just doesn't go straight to your pipboy.

Hopefully, everyone here already knows about making lots of large water purifiers along Sanctuary's creek, plus large generators. Make sure to take all of the purified water and any other food "aid" stuff out each time, so it keeps replenishing. About every 30-60 minutes of "real" time, I get around a 620 bottles in the workshop, then trade them at stores for ammo, weapons, armor, and junk stuff. I store the water in a trash can next to the workshop, with around 30,000 purified waters at 150 hours of play time. You run out stuff to buy with so much water. Spectacle Island in the Southwest works great for large purifiers, too :)

At first I couldn’t get it to work, I am a NOOB player, but then by chance it worked after an hour of practicing it on a shack wall, and I realized it was because I had to press the scrap button AND LET GO before pressing and holding the store button and doing it quickly. I thought I wasn’t going fast enough, but in reality I was going too fast and not letting the scrap button come back up completely before holding store. And do not let go of the store button before pressing the select button to store and scrap or it will get rid of the double menu. (I am on ps4)

Just tried it, so for me it shows I have 27k caps when I’m in the building mode or whatever but when I go to trade it shows I only have the original amount of caps

Glitch works but the caps looks like they stay in the workbench I didn’t actually get the caps to use on a different vendor

You have to transfer them from your workbench to your inventory.

Skill issue. Glitch works fine. Press scrap a millisecond before pressing store

The glitch works and the caps can be used to build things requiring caps but it still says i have less then a thousand in inventory but at sanctuary it say i have 45k anyone know why

Came back to fallout because of the show on prime this is the easiest cap glitches to do and it still works (I found out you have to let go of the square/X button IMMEDIATELY then press circle/B as fast as possible) if anyone has the same problem as me😭

The caps store in the workshop you have to tranfer the caps from the workshop into your character. Had the same problem literally 3mins ago and see your comment then I realized 30 sec ago so I come back here lol

The button for store is the same button for cancel, you have to hold down scrap, then hold down store really quickly, if you let go of store it cancels scrap, for example on Xbox you hold down X, then almost immediately after you let go hold down b, you should get both screens up do NOT let go of b, it will get rid of scrap. Instead accept scrap and store then let go of b

Ok- so they patched it- there's no more 1500 dollar glitch sadly- on ps4 anyway- go ahead and try- best I can get is 600 for trader store- it sucks- after 100 times I get 30,000 back. Something is going on with fallout

Works on pc. The timing is hard thoe as soon as you let go of the scrap button you need to press store and hold store
