Fallout 76 - Plasma vs Enclave Plasma

Testing a plasma flamer vs an Enclave plasma flamer.
Both guns are modded with Prime Capacitor, Aligned Flamer Barrel, Stabilized Stock and Reflex Sight.
The legendary effects on both weapons for the first part of the test are Anti-armor, 25% faster fire rate with different 3rd stars.
The legendary effects on both weapons for the second part of the test are Vampire's, 25% faster fire rate with different 3rd stars.
Test was done on a custom world.

I see what ive been doing wrong now, I always assumed commando perks worked with a plasma flamer, but I should have had normal rifleman perks.

That's because commando actually makes sense.

@@michalkuna1994 Early game I was always a rifleman, but later i switched to Commando for dps, obviously, so switching back always just seemed like going backwards to me, which i assume is why i never tried it. this is another case where I wish they'd just combine perk cards for less switching.

@@dereksnelling3005 just rifle damage card no matter auto or single shot ,the same with pistols ,bows etc. In fallout 4 you didn't have so many cards for weapons

Slug Buster sort of splits the difference between the two, in my opinion, so that's what I use.

great video, my one point would be that the difference isnt noticeable on lesser enemies, but seems to be noticeable on bosses, and the higher base dmg helps increase the effect of bloodied or other dmg first star effects

Honestly with my play style i'm a Heavy gunner. And I always have a vampire Heavy gun with a two-shot grenade launcher for clearing rooms. But a vampire is always great for big battles. Helps me be the bullet sponge and keep bosses focused on me while everyone else attacks it. It's very hard to die with a vampire fast firing weapon. Now anti-Armor weapons just aren't a big deal to me. They can help in boss fights, but you'll be ok if you never have one.

Nice comparison. If you are looking for an auto plasma, run the raiders faction for the Slug buster, AA, 50% crit, 90% weight, reduced AP. Been using it on my new pistol build. It hits hards, less than the gamma gun. However has a higher capacity than 10mm and no nuking yourself in close range xD

If you compare FFR on a plasma flamer to one without it there is barely any difference so if you get one with FFR keep that in mind

Have 2 enclave Vampire so 1 is always maxed capasity. Great guns for Daily Ops. Bur ammo weighs a lot. Easier now. 1000 shots om me and surplus in the Ammostash.

The time it takes to get the flamer mod for enclave which I spent a week solid jumping servers, I was disappointed with the Enclave Flamer after knowing about it for so long and giving up time and time again to get the flame mod. Now I’m using vampire regular plasma flame I don’t notice the difference isn’t great enough to go for the Enclave Flamer. Massive advantage the regulator plasma has the breaking of the weapon. I can make as many regular vampire flamers as I want, where as vampire enclave flamer needs to send days if not months waiting for the mod to spawn. .

So the enclave will scale better with vats criticals especially when paired with the calibrated beta box mode for the capacitor. Comparing the slug buster with calibrated and enclave with the calibrated beta since it is the only one available nets about 30 percent difference (more) before criticals are concerned. For most the slug buster or other plasma rifle with vampire will be more than sufficient unless you are sneak only obviously. The enclave flamer really only shines when stacking canned coffee and agility/ap buffs up against boss targets like earle/sbq. The ap drain is severe which is likely why you didn't use vats in your video--albeit, I'm not sure how you play normally. A unyielding/ap armor set is the best to pair this with obviously but is not entirely necessary. Anyhow, sorry for the long comment. I would suggest looking for Femos here on KZbin to get some indepth information on the plasma rifles in general.

Yes the Enclave version does slightly more damage but they both perform very similarly. The enclave version is more so a collectors/status piece.

Enclave is just for looks and when you want to speed run the colossal problem. Unfortunately, I don't have AA/50crit enclave so had to speed run earl with slug buster. No matter what I'd have used he caught me up and kicked me out of the trial. Must use both sneak and escape artist next time. I had only escape and he detected me after health regeneration.

i think the difference you will notice when you have no perk cards active the enclave is little bit stronger if no cards is active

Bloodied comparison should give results similar to AA comparison. I've been looking for a good automatic enclave plasma for months with no luck. It's why I did the test. Enclave stuff is just stupid hard to get with the mods you want.

ammo is the issue for me farming it very low numbers for what you use.

I could definitely see that being an issue. One of the reasons for the prime capacitor. But then flux is an issue. Definitely want to craft using Ammo Factory legendary perk if possible.

Farm ammo with plasma caster during daily ops and use it up with flamer

If you are using regular plasma cartridges, go into daily ops with a broadsided, preferably the Grande Finale one that just got released. My teammate needed to stock up on flamer fuel since he always uses an explosive one. We went in with maybe 150 cannonballs a piece. Came out with 1,500 each and turned them into the ammo converter for ammo points(you get the most ammo points with cannonballs). After both of us did 2 runs through it, together we got 35,000-40,000 fuel. Best way to farm any type of ammo.👍

Yeah you should have tested without adrenaline. 1 kill alone was giving you a lot of extra dps and you had it maxed out.

All my toons rock at least one plasma flamer. Usually Slug Buster/Vamps, but i also have AA/TS/Quad etc. They all melt everything they are pointed at. Great for mobs. Take one to Distant Thunder, for instance, and takes no time to finish the event. I have a couple of Enclave plasma flamers too, but IMO regular ones are just as good, without the PITA grind to get the flamer barrel mods that the Enclave ones require.
