Fallout 76 has come a long way since 2018, transforming into something that’s much closer to the original “Fallout with Friends” pitch that was so enticing about it. The combat, exploration, and RPG systems all feel so good that it’s easy to lose dozens of hours running around the massive map getting lost in over-the-top action. That said, this wasteland still has plenty of room to grow, as its added Expeditions are less interesting than I’d hoped for, the endgame is still a bit thin, and the inventory system seems designed to infuriate - or worse, twist your arm into paying for a real-money subscription to ease the pain. Even still, I never thought I’d return to Appalachia after my initially harrowing experience with it, but Bethesda has really put in the wrench time on this one, and I’m so glad I gave it another shot.

All jokes aside it really is a fun to play with buddies game! From building, the currency system for vendors that players put down and the community involvement when events drop, feels a little like Destiny public events. It's all the fallouts we love but with friends. Match quest progress together and struggle a bit , wasteland is massive to explore

In my opinion after all the fixes, the storage capacity is the biggest problem. By far. If you weren’t over-cumbered all the time it would be so much better. The stash weight should be unlimited or if not atleast doubled or tripled then you can play this game at its full potential

You should be able to read the original comment and know that he means practically infinite, just like EVERY OTHER GAME. Most games with "infinite" storage are practically infinite, with a cap like 49,909,997,861

Not gonna lie, if you need to get the 1st membership for the inventory/ammo, you may need to do actual inventory management. (also, please for the love that is all Fallout, don't get the 1st membership, it is very playable without it and there is nothing that you get to "win")

Different but honestly its only better with the mods , 76 is very fresh and the rpg aspects/skillchecks your special giving you options is so SO much better . Did the new storyline coming and literally felt godawful for my choices near the end

4 is the more cinematic choice and has a bigger focus on storytelling and player choice while 76 has more replayable content with updates better customization and multiplayer but way less impactful story. Depends on what you like or if you have a group of friends ready to hop on with you.

While it definitely has problems, most of which lay at Bethesdas feet on not modernising their games, and keeping up with the times, theres SIGNIFICANTLY more vision and design in this game. Things like world map, the C.A.M.P, mod and crafting system are really standout design choices that do a much better job keeping you interested to keep pushing to new areas and explore. Even the food and drink system, which might put people off at first, gives a much needed change in Bethesda messy "health systems". Going from eating 40 cheese wheels, to maintaining your food/drink for a noticable stat and defense boost is much more engaging.

Fun game to come back to every now and then for the content drops. They give out the premium currency like its no ones business so cash shop upgrades are easily obtainable without using your wallet. Less cinematic than the other games in the series though it probably has my favourite map design from all the games. . Can't wait for the map expansion that was just announced.

It has gotten better, but its last on my list of fallout games (3,4,vegas). The server lag is still there, server drop still there and the limited stock pile space still there. Its playable, but how they chose to do multiplayer and ofcourse the cash shop make it by far the weakest..... still better than Starfield however.

The way IGN does reviews is so annoying to me. Yall do these because its your job and the algorithm is blessing you for making fallout content. Yall dont know the first thing about Fallout 76 in the 10 hours you played the game and its obvious in this review. Ask the people who are still playing 6 years later what their end game is. Trust me we have fun, hell there is even a huge community of builders in which that alone is their end game. Not to mention, JUST LAST YEAR, iGN made a brilliant piece on the wacky world of fallout 76 and how roleplayers acted out plays and did other funny things. Like come on. Move on, we see joe schmoe knows next to nothing with this half assessed review.
