I found a brutal hunting rifle in a nice guy's vending machine, nearby the steakhouse, on the middle of the highway. He sold that item, named "Longshot" for 1000caps, i just changed the caliber, for a fine .50, the first shot is 200% damage. And now this makes me really happy. I can operate against average blood eagles with one hit kills headshots. By the way he had also the this 3star Fixers a bunch, and a plan also. I hope I see that guy again!

A nice player gave me a fixer for when i hit level 20. Now im 30 so i got to find another. Mine is single shot though. I did find a neat weapon that uses the same ammo but i can't mod it yet. This guide is very useful. Ill be trying to get through this now.

2 ways to get fixer mods, first look to buy combat rifle mods since the Fixer uses the same mods, second scrap combat rifles because if the gun you scraped had a mod on it you may learn that mod and now be able to craft that mod on your Fixer. First thing I do is collect every gun and armor from enemies and sell until the vendor is out of caps then I scrap all guns to try to learn mods for every gun and armor that way you are getting all the caps you can then learning all the mods you can every play day, since vendors caps restock after 24 real world hours

100% THIS!!! To be honest , that's how I started out. I had to work my way up and then eventually over time whenever I picked up something really good that wasn't for my build, I would either do a weapon swap with somebody else or just randomly search peoples vendors. You can get lucky sometimes but it's how you forge your own path to get there is the fun part 😊 Hope you're enjoying Fallout and your experience so far!

@@bigdaddykyle451 handmade for non sneak, fixer for sneak. Legendary rolls are also a factor, your handmade could output the same damage without sneak as that fixer would with it, but the fixer would excel against heavily armored enemies (world bosses and the like) due to the AA roll.

You can get very lucky and find the plan really cheap, however that really comes down to luck. I'd say try and server hop around peoples vendors and see if you do get lucky, but one of the fastest ways to get it is by doing the encrypted event which is usually triggered most of the time on servers. Now I do say that's the fastest way but remember there's a percentage chance for the plan to drop from that event so you might need to do it a few times!

darn I wish I had known about the fixer plans availability in the mutation invasion events but wasn't playing 76 during that time. guess I have to go back to the ecryptid event though good to know people can trade the plans, I thought it wasn't tradable for some reason, so will check for it in camp vendors now. Hmm, I had forgotten. Main character has the plans and uses it. My second character does not. Although the quest you follow got glitched for character 2 so probably will have to buy one some day. Also forgot that that robo-sheepsquach fight is started by a character with a card. Which explains why I never see that pop up anymore.

Yeah Encrypted is only started by you or someone else. I used to love seeing it constantly appear on servers after 3 nukes had been dropped on the server. It used to be the routine to drop 3 nukes , do Encrypted, move to another server and repeat the process 😅

you mentioning the player base and being friendly is true, so i reinstalled on my ps5 (god she's sexy) this morning after graveyard shift and was only playing a few hours and stopped by the donation box to drop off ammo and things that i didnt need and ran into this dude who gave me a power armor chasis thingy and a bunch of meds and stuff, then another guy passed by and offered up a grip of ammo for my pistol, and teamed up and ran around looking for bobble heads and things before i had to crash that afternoon for work tonight, i'm also noticing that the community on playstation is a little more friendly then you fined on xbox

That can happen because when it comes to the encrypted event there’s a chance for you to be rewarded the plan and it all comes down to luck. It took me a while to get the plan but after completing multiple events I eventually got it so don’t give up hope 🤘🏻

I hate that I managed a Bloodied, Fire Rate, Reload Speed roll on a standard combat rifle before I got the plans. Once I get a g-roll on my fixer I could probably fetch a decent amount from my combat rifle.

I have the Fixer, its a solid rifle. I have only ever seen the automatic mods for .38 cal, do all the train stations have the exact same Plans, or do they update and change?? What are the best mods for the most "Min/Max" for the weapon? Thanks!

To be honest and if you can, try and prime the weapon for increased damage against scorched and scorched beasts. Depending on you run a commando or rifleman build either go with automatic or semi auto but automatic is definitely the way to go with this gun. Because the fixer is designed for sneak builds , definitely try to keep the suppressor on and optimise your build for sneak. They're usually located at Vault 76, vendor train stations and other locations. You never know what you might find!

I have a 2 shot explosive fixer and LOVE it, but would a bloodied explosive be better? I haven’t seen any definite info. I run bloodied vats not stealth

Bloodied explosive will perform much better. Twoshot costs more in vats. Has lower vats accuracy. Worse hip fire. Higher cost to durability. All for one extra small explosion. Don't take the weapon card damage as gospel, its deceiving.

I am currently level 68 in the game, I already have the fixer blueprint, but when making it at level 50 the damage is very low, barely 50, with some improvements it reaches 60. Any suggestions to achieve more damage? Thanks!

It mainly comes down to your build! The fixer can be modded to either be single shot which is default or fully automatic. Depending on each, you can spec your build into a cammando build or rifleman build and from there you can mix and match perk cards to suit your style. Vendors don't naturally sell the plan for the fixer so I'd say you might have gotten lucky and come across a vendor that had it in it's inventory because another player had sold the plan to that vendor. You can get very lucky that way!

Vendor hop is the best way, and if you're low on caps just be honest with whoever has the plan, if they have multiple they might just give it to you, or sell it to you for cheaper. I had only 2,000 caps when I came across a guy with 3 plans for the fixer selling for 4,000.. I told him I didn't have a lot of caps and he just dropped one for me for free. I very much appreciated him for it and even told him I'd give him the 2k caps if he wanted, he said just have fun. You meet great people on fallout 76. Definitely unlike any other game I've played. But yea, vendor hopping was how I got mine and just be honest about your caps if you don't have a lot

The fixer didn’t drop from the Lying Lowe quest unfortunately, I wonder if it’s a chance to drop or a bug?

The actual weapon should drop as a stock variant upon completion, however the plan to craft the weapon only drops from the encrypted event and upon opening mutated gift boxes. If you didn'rt get the stock variant upon completion then I think that's definitely a bug as it's a guaranteed drop

The poster should be available at any train station vendor across the region so I'd advise to check each of them! Plus that poster was made available as a camp item that you can craft and place in your camp, so I'd say if you hop around players camps you might see that poster hanging up on their walls and you can interact with it and it will do the same thing and trigger the questline!

if you did the mission and you didn't get the plans then either wait 3hrs and try the mission again as its on a cooldown timer, or hope servers and try again, just like the videos shows and explains.

Exactly was @RossMalagrie said! If you don't get it first time around, just server hop to another server and craft another recall card and see if you can trigger the event. Some servers may already have it completed but it's just about finding the right server. Plus I think you can now get the plan from other events across the world and from other missions.

In my first couple hours playing I was given a fixer by a higher level character. I was also given a full set of BoS heavy combat armor by the leader of my team. Overall, I've found FO76 players to be very generous and helpful.

All you need to do is level up to purchase the card , the more you level up the more points you can use to purchase cards😊 each character level = 1 point you can use to purcahse cards also scrap the cards you'll never use and duplicates of ones you've already gotten and you'll build up perk points that way too for the legendary perk cards

Ik its been a while since you posted this comment but if you never figured it out the. The answer is mostly just you needing to have a build that works with it really well and some good legendary rolls on it. Chems dont hurt either.
