You can have more carry weight, more resistances with due Godrolls, Fusion Core "disadvantage" can be solved easily with recharger and you can also personalize your PA look with every piece. Yes the Bloody Commando can do huge ammounts of dmg but that's exactly that, a glasscannon. PA can be used full Health tank and still melt many enemies to Bosses

@@baltonus1120 Actually, I can carry more weight in unyielding armor and a chemists backpack than I can in even Excavator power armor. It's insane, but true. And power armor feels slower, and it can only be as fast as I normally am when you make certain tradeoffs with the power armor mods. And you can't wear or show any fun outfits. And your jetpacks use fusion cores, whereas with regular armor they just need AP. And you have to get in and out of it to do certain things. And there is no Unyielding option for power armor, and that makes a *huge* difference for your SPECIALS. For example, given the same buffs, you can never level up as fast with power armor as you can with a set of unyielding at low health. The main pros for power armor are better resistances, especially radiation, and 42 percent incoming damage reduction. I just find power armor too clunky to bother with.

I run 90 % of my builds heavy gun and always start at lvl 25 with a 50 cal . I dont usually have an issue getting cores or ammo but i do spend alot of time gathering cores and my first legendary perk is always electric absorption. I usually try to stay away from too many events and only concentrate on quests only as too many events too early will burn through resources. But thats a shower playthrough style and i run full health so i dont use emergency protocols. And i always get scrounger and pharma pharma , to build up on ammo and stims as i playthrough, plus i run a hunting rifle modded with a 50 cal receiver which you can get early . The ammo return is really great . But yes blocker , ricochet are a bonus. Ive started atleast 10 builds this way including brand new accounts. But like i have stated its a slower pace playthrough. I never run bloodied. Except once and didn't like it . I also only run 1 legendary perk to add to my special. Even on my level 800 character. But usually i get through all questlines by level 70 ish , and then start grinding events after that . Slower not shower lol

Love running PA heavy, gunner or melee. I have mine setup as a hybrid though. Sometimes it's nice to jump out of armor and do some stealth commando. So I tend to run at about half health with less endurance and charisma, put more points in both perception and agility. Then I can quickly swap out a few cards and have a totally different play style without visiting the punch card machine.

Well, Ideally, a godroll for me would be Overs, Powered and Thru Hiker on all pieces (Minus helmet ofc) so you can use Bear arms for weight reduction but this way you can remove Traveling pharmacist and Thru hiker perk cards for something better. Thru hiker legendary mod also works for meds so 2 for 1.

I Play full Health Heavy Gunner with Hellcat power armor + holy fire and everything dies. I have a Gat plasma and a Gat lazer for a bit more range No need for Bloodied unless I run west tek to level up. No need to min max as its enough to do everything for me personally. Its very rare I die

Im confused about the auto stimpak use - as we are under 20% constantly to get nerd rage, i found it just empties all my stimpaks due to it spamming them constantly. Literally the first time i find myself with no stimpaks 😅

If you have a heavy gun that fires a lot of "bullets" like a 50 cal or flame thrower, the "one guy army" perk card maxed out is great. Then the enemies will not be able to fire back once you start fire on them. And it is real fun as well. I would trade the "bloody mess card" for that, not really needed. Also, it works on the earl boss to keep him from moving around too much.

finally! someone acknowledges the ammo harvesting power of the gatling! for me it's really a jack of all trades weapon, from enemy clearing, sniping, & generaly anything a rifle/ assault rifle would do. i usually pair it with a tesla rifle for crowd control and/or a pepper shaker for damage sponges.

Gatling laser, with power perks, 999 shots per core, when it gets to 20 shots left, swap cores. Next time at base, put cores in the recharger. I have vampire Gatling laser , it's jokes, take no damage and just burst fire every 2 seconds gives you quick fire

I've been running with the Vertiguard PA skin for awhile now and over the past few days I have noticed more and more folks running around with it. My preferred EDC is a plasma caster with Quad, AP gen and reduced weight. Quad rules on that one. You can live in VATS. Reload is not long and Concentrated Fire is your friend. Max GunFu. I am a VATS mechanic on Radiation Rumble. Just cycling and cycling kills.

The Ricochet card is only really tanky if you have a vampire weapon drawn. So if you are taking a lot of damage, have a vampire weapon ready on a fast button.

Well for those who is new, full health heavy dps is tough to adjust the maximum output damage comparing to low health heavy dps builds. I'm a Full health heavy PA build and my gosh its difficult to maximize the dps damage. The best you can do is using Aristocrat legendary effects for your any weapons your using, and with the help of food buffs, chems, and bobbleheads

Nah its still classified as a heavy gun, plasma splitter basically makes a plasma rifle a shotgun but it still uses rifleman perks.

I'm running a bloodied heavy gunner as my main right now (level 417). I have a full set of Unyielding armor (working on rolling a full set of Secret Service) and use the Holy Fire as my main weapon. The Vampire effect and high rate of fire make it an ideal build for managing mobs, and it still dumps out huge amounts of damage on bosses. For range and accuracy, I have an explosive .50 cal that I use, and I've been playing around with the gatling plasma. GP is pretty inaccurate at med- long range for me, though. Turtle has a video on a non-PA heavy gun build that I recommend, though I tweaked it to my own preferences and style. Hope that helps!

Is Speed Demon really worth it if you have emergency protocols? You're already at max speed and already have lock and load for reload speed. I feel it's a pain in the ass managing the food and thirst meters when having overeaters.

If you have the popcorn machine, just live on popcorn and purified water, pretty easy to manage.. both give zero radiation, popcorn not only restores hunger meter but also reduce food/drink consumption for 15 minutes

Speed demon is always very easy to manage if you need to care about your hunger/thirst drain. Food is everywhere. Bubblegum slows the drain. Camps produce drinks now as well as some food. Perfect bubblegum eliminates any issue for a while. In this build Turtle is using canned coffee to have temporary unlimited ap and continuous food buffs for various bonuses so he’s always eating and drinking.

I think a lot of people commenting are missing the points of the video. That being said, Turtle definitely has some bias in his builds. Master infiltrator is really nice but does take a valuable legendary slot, green thumb can be swapped on and off as needed, fire in the hole is a pretty funny choice, friendly fire at rank 1 isn’t really necessary (I would actually swap out tenderizer if I need friendly fire because I never need both of them), enforcer is not necessary but fine if you’re dedicated to using it and probably better than trying to cram one gun army in when luck has much more valuable cards, born survivor at low health is a preference. Now that I’m done criticizing there are upsides to these choices too and the way that this build comes together in the end is more than playable, he does demo it in the video and mentions swapping cards for different scenarios. What turtle is going for here is geared toward HIS end game gameplay and the defensive cards are less important when he can just pour out reliable dps. This build is skewed toward vats capability which is trying to make something work that doesn’t want to work initially but can produce a powerful result. I will also say that this is not how I have spec’d out my heavy build at all and I wouldn’t call this a general build guide. This is a guide for a niche endgame build. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s different. That’s the point. We can put on our internal database power armor helmets (thinking caps) and understand how some different choices could give different benefits that might not make you copy this build but maybe incorporate part of it. Mine is still better though.

@@kfs3525 Well not entirely, you get +3 in every stat except endurance. High luck benefits you with crit. Agility ap etc, charisma vendor prices. I think over 20 or 25 was the sweet spot where you don't need the bargain perk anymore. Strength for more carry weight or melee damage. Secret service armor is best for bloodied without power armor. Got high res for many things. Can be hard or easy to get unyielding, so be ready to send some legendary modules. It is cheaper to craft new ones than reroll, good to start with. Since it's random 1-3 star each craft. At least easier to hit unyielding, if you got the surplus mats to craft them. If you haven't, check some good railway bloodied build, to get a hang on what perk cards to use. I use a bit different stuff, but I got the baseline requirements for bloodied. I also use every legendary special stats cards, fully leveled up. I use all but the strength one. I think there is more benefits in normal perk cards compared to some legendary ones that doesn't give special stats. But yeah, I try to max my int stat, because I like to level. And it is much faster if you want to grind the scoreboard. You can't have unyielding on power armor. Else I would use power armor. Edit: You totally want to use fireproof, lifegiver 3-4 and skeletal limbs w/o power armor. I have max fireproof (3), lifegiver 3/4, radicool 1, skeletal limbs max. Also use a lot of mutations, so I use the perk that minimizes the negative effects. Kinda feel like that one is a must have. And the gene one, making mutation stay. Serendipity is s must have. I used to use dodgey, but I dropped it. I am bit Ultra glasscannon for my build, energy and poison hurt but manageable. I rarely die, unless I don't pay attention.

People complaining about dying just need to use a few stims once in a while and on the rare occasion i die its not like theres much of a penalty usually other than looking like a bitch. Hi Turtle! What the point of boosting your luck with Nuka Dark if you use VATS only occasionally and crits basically doesn't exist outside VATS/Stealth? I thought I can boost my damage this way for my full health PA heavy build but tests on volunteers from West-Tek facility showed no difference in the damage output. Or I'm missed something and crits actually work for hip-fire?

Overeaters, ap regen, and sentinel for perks. If you can find a left arm modded with a jetpack. There might be a few still floating around the market somewhere as they were old items still left in the game before they removed the ability to put jetpacs on left arms. Saves you a torso mod. Legs are just shocks for carry weight. Head mod would be either the internal database for the 2 int bonus or the targeting hud to see enemies easier

I go a completely different build, I'm lazy as fuck so i made a very powerful mix build, which is not quite max damage but extremely close and tons of hoarding perks, way better that way imo, and my build revolves around being a heavy gunner build but without having to use stupid power armor like ever, EXCEPT for scorchbeast queen ONLY to withstand radiation better, i use things like barbarian, evasive and nerd rage and that lvl 5 endurance perk to maximize my defense outside of power armor, and i have on like bandolier, battery included, thru hiker, chemist backpack, both armor armor reduction perks, weapon weight reduction/ unyielding/ap regen on all 5 SS armor pieces, stuff like that, yes i don't use the make reduction perk so i am vulnerable to melee but not honestly not that big a deal honestly just be careful around dogs and ghouls etc. I sacrifice like 1 point into my one of my heavy gunner damage perks and 1 from my adrenaline rush and keep demolition expert at 3, but i am so fuckin strong its good enough, this way i can be ultra lazy, pick up practically everything, do tons of damage, and don't have to use stupid power armor almost ever, freakin love it, and if i do need to fight SBQ just get in power armor and switch perk card barbarian for traveling pharmacy real quick and I'm good to go, legendary perk cards i use maxed out are strength, luck, endurance, intelligence and ability and the final perk card o is is survival shortcut, so i can instantly cure disease and max hunger and thirst at all times which boosts my ap regen and health, and if i do die, which doesn't happen to often i just i pop 2 toxic goo and bam! Back to full on nerd rage/ max unyielding again, super easy.

sorry, but you lost me on no jetpack. ever since i was able to build one i can't see myself playing without it. combined with marsupial i can get to places that anyone without it can't. not only that, but it's great for long falls, even with bird bones. instead of going through the hard landing animation fire a few quick bursts of the jetpack as you are falling and land ready to fight. also, i have been able to cross deep water without sinking down in it by jumping up and firing quick bursts while moving forward. honestly it's an overall game changer and essential imo.

If you have herbivore then I think that helps with your crit chance or damage. And theres always drugs. Alo try to roll a gun that's tailored to the type of enemy the boss is

I'm struggling very hard to do a build that allows me to face tank enemies, i'm using a vampiric build right now but i take forever to kill anything, can i be a tank and still dps? Secondly does anyone have a link to this build of his, sadly i need to inspect things slowly to understand them

Yes, until you have full set of wwr on your armour. Then you can drop bear arms.

It’s recommended because the amount of ammo you chew through you need a good amount of ammo . Pair that with running multiple guns . PA really helps
