I knew them when they were in high school. Patrick, anyway. They were nice.

Holy crap, this is amazing. I dont blame you one bit for wanting to keep a little something personal for yourself. You weren't a random fan & this isnt a random band. These are friends & the tape is like home movies. You're not obligated to share a goddamned thing no matter how much people whine. I'm seriously grateful you posted what you have. It's a tiny glimpse in history at a moment in time when FOB was on the cusp of something magical.--coffeeismygod--

@ski11lzdatki11z9 жыл бұрын
I'm in a punk band and we set up in a parking lot to a skate park once and got the cops called on us because we did not have authorization to do that, so the people in the concession stand called the pork patrol on us.

Nobody really payed much attention to the small, changed details in Reinventing the Wheel... ("new" at the time of this video) as it is on the album compared to how it sounds live 8 months before the release of their first full album. I love videos like these, Chris.

I remember being in high school and everyone saying that I should go check out this new band Fallout Boy... I never did... 😂. Rule #1 listen to the cool people in high school that like the same music as you. Rule #2 Don't judge a band based off of the crowd reaction they get in high school
@ryanhodge27218 жыл бұрын
It's actually amazing how they can go from playing on a half-pipe in a skate park to selling out Wembley Stadium.

Like many huge bands ^^ Look at Oasis, they went from bars to Maine Road Stadium / Knebworth in 2 years, Earls Court in something like a year ..

such a good set and so much props for being one of the only bands who wouldn't bail on playing a hardcore show, hell they were about to be the first band to play in Antarctica if it wasn't for the weather. such good guys. thankfully I've gotten to see them well over 10 times in my life.
@mikekristin72015 жыл бұрын
I grew up in the scene in Chicago a couple years behind these guys I come back to this video a couple times a year just to be in awe of how many incredible bands came out of this area in five years time. Without the aid of record labels without the aid of KZbinr the internet. Message boards and back alley shows. Though I was not at this show, I was around many like it. This was a great reminder of one of the coolest times in my life. Crazy to think that now I have a daughter on the way this seems like it was world's ago. Chris thanks a ton for posting this

i come back to this set so often and cant believe how far theyve come! i appreciate you sharing these with us. as someone who was 10 at the time of this set and 13 when i first heard them, im weirdly nostalgic for a time i just barely missed.

This was one of my favorite shows i ever went to. Misery Signals (before they even released a demo) opened the show 20 minutes before doors actually opened. If this show was to happen today with all the bands on it, it would have to be at an amphitheater. ETID and This Day Forward were the 2 bands that stole the show. Terror and Unearth were really good too.
@recordinmotion11 жыл бұрын

Just anecdotal, but many of the hardcore guys I know also love pop punk. I even recognize people from being at both type of shows. Shit seems to be a lot more accepting now, but I can’t really say since I’ve only really been in the scene since about 2015

I really love the fact that Chris only decided to share a couple of clips from this show and cherishing the rest as memories. It really shows how important experiences and memories are to him, a similarity I noticed between him and myself. Whenever I'm having fun I already know that that moment would soon become a memory, so I try to live in it as much as possible. Kind of like where I read somewhere that he collected urinal cakes from one arena somewhere...love this band and Arma

Anything that peaks levels would, naturally, sound better in Mono than gouging your ears out in stereo. It's like you're saying you're mad at the past for not being as technologically advanced as we are presently?
