That skull at the end was a creature called a death claw and the city shown off in the distance is New Vegas, from the Fallout New Vegas game.

When they talked about what they might do with some of the vaults, those *are* some of the horrible experiments you find in the games! Hence why in episode #6 Cooper's friend said: _"Vault-Tec is the f---ing Devil!"_

The Brotherhood in general in actually NOT evil. In fact, they've helped save the world several times against horrific evils, and were founded to protect humanity after the nuclear bombs. The trouble is, sometimes, some members do turn bad, like this Elder Quintus. The fact that he's talking about overthrowing their leaders and taking control, is a big red flag. The current leader of the Brotherhood that we have not yet seen in the series, is named Arthur after the legendary King Arthur, and *tries* to lead the Brotherhood to be like the Knights of Camelot, but he's only one man among many voices.

This is literally how management behaved where I used to work, they thought they were such badass managers that they could fire veteran workers and they could improve the company with lower paid employees. All they did was lose customers.

Brotherhood will do more or less well with "infinite power". They already did the same in the East, when they took over Water-Purifier Plant in DC area, and provided clean water to entire (North)East America.

Ah, but the East Coast chapter had the humane leadership of Elder Lyons for a while, where as the West Coast chapters got dogmatic, brutal and in a stupid war with the NCR that they lost, and seem to want revenge on the NCR because of that. From hints said by the BoS leader in the TV series, something went badly wrong with this West coast chapter, some folks think they adotped/merged with survivors of Caesar's Legion, which would explain the names of some of the characters ;)

Meh, I don't think so. This is 15-20 yrs after all those events mentioned in the West (south california) that were not actual NCR victories. Also, West and East BoS seem to be coordinated now. @@silverbladeTE

@@elvisibra they were indeed NCR victories, because the Brotherhood got driven out of California :) Remember, the bunker in the Mojave was one of the last BoS groups left at that time in the region too much of the lore etc in Fallout 2, 3 and New Vegas explains why the Brotherhood got so wrecked and messed up It got too insular, far too dogmatic/zealot, too small etc so most of the Western BoS got wrecked The TV show indicates serious problems with this West coast chapter and a growing schism between them and the Commonwealth chapter

Brotherhood will do nothing but horde power as they always do. Elder Lyons in DC was an exception to the rule as a leader, Elder Maxson does not give a crap about anyone but the dogmatic rules of the brotherhood.

@@silverbladeTE Meh, BoS one main base (S. Calif) split into 4,5 smaller ones, including one in Mojave (group sent to take Hoover Dam 2272, instead took Helios 1). NCR outnumbered BoS overall by 20 to 1. Still war lasted for 18yrs, when BoS retreated into Save Locations (their bunkers), but not before BoS took NCR Gold Reserve and crashed NCR currency, that NCR replaced with Fiat currency that wasn't trusted, thus one of NCR States introduced Bottle Caps as bsck up for currency. Now if you see that a victory for NCR, well be welcome to see it that way, but I can tell you that it was not. Instead NCR took 18yrs to barely achieve partial victory at high cost for NCR, cost that we see now 15-20yrs later, when NCR is shattered and BoS is still kicking in the region.. 🤷

This brotherhood is one chapter of a much larger group. They're spreading all over the U.S. but remember that this group does not represent fully of what the brotherhood is. This chapter is going to try and break away and become essentially traitors. If Maximus gains the popularity and trust of this chapter he can try and take over. And will need Danes help. They could try and reach out to the other chapters but with cold fusion in the hands of this elder I expect a civil war is a possibility. But the way I see it as well, the eastern brotherhood of steel is a much larger group. Because they have been recruiting people for over forty years with much more trained soldiers. Back then, you could only way to join the brotherhood was by being born into it. So looks like the west has only just started training others for at least 18 years and doesn't seem to have much well trained disciplined soldiers. Because their body count here was pretty high given how back then a battle like this probably would've had a low casualty.

The cold fusion code was the release date of the original Fallout game. Fallout is now my favorite TV series adaptation from a video game. That honor used to The Last of Us. I am beyond excited for what Season 2 has waiting for us. The more I look at Ella Purnell in this role the more I’m convinced that she’s perfect as Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite

The Last of Us IMO, too closely resembled a game, complete with a 'go do this task to get some McGuffin.' The first and third episodes were the only really good episodes; the rest were decently written, but boring. The final episode, frankly, was a huge boring letdown.

@@Greenhawk4 That's no excuse to import game based mechanics. An entire episode based off going to find a battery? Task A, then Task B, then Task B? They could have replaced that with essentially any plot, and it would have been better. The did so with the gay episode, and it was by far the best in the series.

Barb's suggestion that they (Vault-Tec) drop the bomb themselves was a plan, however, it's possible that some other faction or their main enemy dropped the bombs first. Vault-Tec wasn't done completing their tests yet and why would Barb be complicit in dropping the bombs when her daughter was outside at a birthday party with her father. Also, Barb wouldn't be in vault 31, that was "Bud's Buds." When they were in the meeting and all of the arguing was going on between the corporate bigwigs, Barb got a message on her Pip-boy then looks up at the shadowy figure behind the window above the meeting. It is my belief that was the president/CEO of Vault-Tec and Barb was his personal executive assistant because after looking up, she took control of the meeting.

Very possible, likely even, that one of the shadowy figures was Stannislaus Braun. He would have to make his way back to DC to Vault 112 before the bombs fell tho, obviously.

The only thing worse in finding a Death Claw is finding two Death Claws at the same time! One of the games forces you to fight a single DC. A boss fight very early in the game for a typically unleveled up or low level player.

An epic twist at the ending episode and a sad one. Two main characters learning the person they love the most are nothing more than genocidal mass murderers. Cooper's family wouldn't be in Vault 31, that's for Buds Buds. Barb is a top executive and would be somewhere else, maybe New Vegas, which is the city where Lucy's father went to at the very end.

It makes Lucy's line after exiting vault 4 of "if my dad knew I destroyed a whole community to rescue him" mean a lot more now in context.

Mom turned into a ghoul from the nuke that went off from the dad. No drugs are needed to become a ghoul

Also, factions would immediately begin to develop in your 'only' faction. Destroying everybody 'else' never works, for exactly this reason.

I am looking forward to seeing how the dynamic between Lucy and Coop develops. Will they actually become friends? Will Lucy learn his name is Cooper Howard and that she grew up watching his movies? How long before she learns his trigger-finger used to be her trigger-finger?

The city at the end is new vegas, the only city that was able to fend off the nukes with rob-co anti missile technology. We're about to see Mr house in season 2. He's usually the mastermind in the Mojave desert

I am enjoying watching this series with the both of you two beautiful ladies , despite not being a fan of "fallout". The only reason i am watching it is because I'm watching it with you two and watching your reactions is the best , whether your reacting to this "fallout" or any other movies / tv shows. I LO❤E to see it Imo Its definetly worth watching it with you two , especially to see and hear your beautiful, sweet smiles and laughs while watching you both react. I will never get tired of you two and your (movie, tv shows , game) reactions. Can't wait until you react to the rest of The Rocky Saga though, if you do 🙏. You are both a real knockout. Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing

I felt so horrible for Lucy at the end of this episode. After Moldaver leaves, she just stands there alone with her silent, sociopathic father looking on as his daughter drowns in pain and horror. She could have really used a friend or a genuine loved one there to give her a hug. Dealing with trauma alone is always terrible. EDIT: Also, I would like to see Lucy and Cooper become friends. I'll bet a lot of the reason he hated Lucy at the beginning was that he thought she was Henry's relative, and he obviously loathes anything to do with Vault Tec. Lucy could learn a lot of everything from Cooper, and I hope we get to see it. I'll bet you 50 caps that Cooper has been to New Vegas before. :-D

Or rather New Vegas. However, the TV show takes place 15 years after the FNV game. And the end credits show a very much destroyed Vegas city which clearly happened after the events in the game. So season two should be quite interesting.

well the brotherhood is not a bad thing in the wasteland. they dont have slaves, they dont harvest organs, they try to keep the people safe from raiders... of course they are racists against mutants and ghouls, but considering the other options... they are a good option for a lot of the population. first you need to maintain laws and safety.... then you can start thinking about luxury like elections and rights

The show for the most part use old music, the only real time they use new music is when the activate the fusion core, something something symbolism what is it with people thinking Moldaver and the NCR are the good guys? did we just forget the first episode down it in vault 32 or the literally cult behavior in vault 4 with the blood and ashes?

Very good game adaptations! I love playing F4;F76 good stories! But i hate the Vault-Tech human research! New Vegas in the end right? I don't play F1-3;NV Win10 not working this game. In game 2077 but real world when? As the saying goes. War never changes! People do not matter only the raw material!

"The brotherhood is evil" . . . The brotherhood is. . . Complicated. Some of its chapters have been good, some have been terrible. Either way, they leave a trail of bodies in their wake. Also, most fans of the game recognized what was going on in the meeting under Vault Tech instantly. That was (not all) but most of the major players of the Enclave. You met them already in episode 2 i believe. They were a bunch of corporate big wigs, high ranking generals, and politicians from before the great war that felt America needed a reset (and i must state for the record that this lore predates Americas current political crisis) they felt it needed to be made great agian and return to traditional capitalist, right wing values. . . Long story short, they eventually just decided it would be easier to. . . Start over.

Norm didn't really have a choice, but to put himself in his dad's pod, otherwise he'll starve. Smashing up Bud's brain won't do any good either. He may be the only one who can wake Norm up in due time.

Norm will use his hacking skills I am sure in season 2 to get out, can't see him putting himself in the pod. I suspect he will lead a little revolt against vault-tec.

As an actor her eyes are an amazing asset. She's shown that she's able to use them to relay a very versatile range of emotions. That being said, her vocal delivery is also really impressive. Man, her performance in that final scene - you can literally see her faith in her father dying a slow stunning death and the trauma of the reveal paralyzing her.

I agree. I think Norm has things to do before deciding he has to get into the pod. Even though RoomBud said this is the rest of the vault, it doesn't mean that there is nothing else of interest to find in the vault. Sabotaging the pods is a possibility. His hacking skills may well come in handy, too. If there is one thing we know about Bud from the pre-war scenes, he LIKES to talk. Norm could probably learn a lot from engaging him in conversation. Bud hasn't had anyone to talk to for over 200 years, except brief periods of time when there was a freshly thawed out Bud's Bud in vault 31.
