Another news agency showed a close up view from behind Babyface, and someone from AP was already directing Chappell Roan to go to AP next, which Chappell acknowledged. There was no need for that reporter to callout to Chappell anyway. The girl is so green, she didn’t know what was going on..

I saw another video where someone else was standing behind the girl who called out to Chappell, and kept touching her shoulders forcing her to cut the interview with Babyface. What no one is discussing is that those two interviewers 100% had their producers in their ear screaming at them that Chappel was walking by and to get her on the microphone immediately. Kathy Griffin tells a story years ago when she was working the Grammy red carpet and Debbie Gibson was coming by and one of her producers literally yelled at her "WE DON"T WANT HER!" like, in her FACE, as Kathy was signaling her to come over to be interviewed. The on air talent are easy scapegoats but I assure you with complete confidence that they were doing exactly what they were told to do and sure, they handled it rudely, but without a doubt the producers didn't care how they got Babyface out of the picture as long as they got the person who they thought was more relevant onto the mic. It's that simple.
