With the dogmeat synth theory i think you’re missing the fact that he’s a purebred German shepherd 200 years after society ends. I think it is very unlikely that anyone could have the will or means to keep a line of purebred German shepherds for 200 years. I think it’s more likely that the institute made one to remind the sole survivor of their time before the war, making them a bit more comfortable. Along with the other points you mentioned in your video, I think it’s very likely dogmeat is a synth.
@fernandotorrero7792 жыл бұрын
Dogmeat has been a german shepherd since Fo1, which took place in 2161. FEV research by the institute began in 2178. Furthermore they got their hands in the sole survivor until 2224 therefore it could not be a synth. While that does not prove that Fo4 was or was not a synth it does prove that german shepherds are a thing even a century after the apocalypse.

“The beast” can also be seen as a metaphor for the greed that drove most of the Courier’s Sierra Madre team to said location. For example, Christine’s mission to kill Elijah becomes less and less about how she sought to fulfil the hit the CoS put out on Elijah. Instead, a deep seated greed for revenge to kill Elijah for separating Christine from her lover takes over, nearly killing her in the Big M.T. and Sierra Madre. It isn’t the strongest or most concise of metaphors but it’s one interpretation.

19:28 I think grenade man is a reference to Police Academy, and the character that Michael Winslow plays. Michael Winslow is a master of making sounds with only his voice. In the original movie, he meets the main character, played by Steve Guttenberg, after being arrested. When Guttenberg's character asks what he was in for, Winslow says, "I'll show you" and grabs a microphone and vocally mimics (perfectly) the sound of automatic rifle fire, and everyone freaks out. He's probably the best part of the series in my opinion, because his sounds are honestly on point and quite funny. But yeah, he does things like mimic rifle fire and motorcycle sounds, so this is way too specific for it to be coincidental. It's also a movie series from the 80s and many of the guys writing for Bethesda grew up then, so I'm certain they'd know that series of movies, I mean there were like 5 or 6 sequels or something like that.

On top of it not really mattering in the end, it kind of misses what I see as the point of P.A.M. as a character, and is just a little mean-spirited towards her. P.A.M. is a defining example of the arrogance of the pre-war United States. They built a *Predictive* Analytics Machine, who made well-informed and highly accurate *predictions,* and then discarded what it said because they weren't concrete "yes or no" conclusions - even though they were proven correct, as evidenced by the Yangtze sitting along Boston's harbor.

To change that for aliens did kind of makes fallout's message moot.

Maybe with that idea of Zetans starting the great war off, is that maybe their potential reasoning in doing so was to weaken the world's population for if they decide to invade them since battling the people found in a post-nuclear world would be most likely, to them at least, be leagues easier to fight and concur then the large organized and well armed militaries of the pre-war world.

Considering the fact that pretty much every location is cut off from each other almost entirely it's possible people don't know that things existed elsewhere. It also makes logical sense in the case of the potato, for example. Fallout new Vegas takes place fairly close to parts of America that had large agricultural usage, so potatoes surviving makes sense, while in fallout 4, in the areas around Boston, potatoes were mostly obtained from the outside world and as such there wasn't enough to make a natural population and crossbreeds had to be made.

Ret-cons are bad the X-01 is prime example. Bethesda did that on purpose. They made the X-01 the end game power armor and didn't want to make a new power armor for Nuka world, so they instead put a painted suit of X-01 in a theme park for players to collect. It would have just been better if there was a new gun or a new gimmick like Bethesda had been testing with the other DLCs in FO4. And then there is the Brotherhood ret-con, it's quiet obvious Bethesda doesn't care about the lore that made the franchise what it is and it sucks that some fans are apathetic to it. I hope Microsoft doesn't allow them to continue to ruin Fallout's lore. But looking at Halo, they'll likely expedite it. 'They can't and shouldn't be expecting to remember' If we can, why are people who are paid to remember (apparently) unable to? That's a weak response. Just out of curiosity, could you imagine if say, a Tolkien expert, that works with the Tolkien estate got things wrong as often as Bethesda does, if that person or group would continue being employed? No, they wouldn't. It seems Bethesda is full of incompetency in every department, except music, as that is mainly handled externally, by much more talented people. /rAnT oVeR

I think the statue in Dunwitch Borers is another link to the ES world as in ESO there is a very similar statue/shine. The X0-1 retcon is better covered with 76 as team tagerty had found the X0-1 prototype plans, but no signs that they attempted to craft their own set, maybe due to lack of materials or time. So to me that would leave the only pre-war suit to be in nukaworld in 4 and perhaps because the suit had not been properly tested the BOS opted not to build the suit and or the information never got to the main channels of the BOS due to the loss of communications to them witch at this point has not been restored in 76. Great videos and content, Keep it up!

In regards to the mannequins, there's a boat you can swim out to that was carrying a shipment of mannequins and there are logs where a crew member talks about strange noises and that the mannequins seem to move when you're not looking. Now this is all pre-war info so they may not be just mannequins but it kind of removes the institut6e from the equation, imo.

The Dogmeat is a Synth theory has more to support it: - Dogmeat and few dogs in the wasteland keep their fur and noses like the gorillas made in The Institute or the birds which are theorized to be spy cameras for them. - The Institute released their created dogs to the wasteland for studying wastelanders, one breed in particular known in history by tales or just name, was made exclusively to keep an eye on The Sole Survivor. - The "preserved" dogs seem to have a deeper connection with their owners than the mutated ones, from Dogmeat becoming the player's best friend to that wastelander who tried to sell another good looking dog but slowly realized he didn't want to and loved it. Perhaps is the natural connection between humans and dogs or The Institute made them to connect with their owners deeper for research purposes. - Mama Murphy could have seen Dogmeat in one of her visions or she managed to read that frequency Synths use and found out the name given to it, that's why she called it Dogmeat when first met. - This one is not real evidence since it's based on The Creation Club but Dogmeat is the only dog who can change fur color and breed with a collar, no normal dog can do that.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls sharing the same universe is not that far-fetched. The word is universe, not planet. Perhaps the Dwemer traveled to Earth as a result of using the Tools of Kagrenac. Forming ancient civilizations. One of which would be explored by Lorenzo Cabot. Some are excavated by the various Dunwich companies. Perhaps the use of the tools also gave access to Earth to the Daedra. Thus, the Lovecraft references in both worlds.

I disagree that the retcons don't matter. Continuity is an important part of story making. Many shows hire a "continuity coordinator" who's entire job is to go through the script and remember important details. It is literally there job to know these things and catch them. Plus fallout used to have a book known as the "fallout Bible" that was supposed to help keep things straight. Sure some mistakes will get through, but that is the point, they are mistakes and should not be justified. "According to ABC News, the average chocolate bar contains eight insect parts. Anything less than 60 insect pieces per 100 grams of chocolate (two chocolate bars' worth) is deemed safe for consumption by the Food and Drug Administration." You can't stop insects from getting chopped up into chocolate anymore than you can stop continuity errors, but if I see the bug I am still allowed to complain.

Black Isle made retcons between Fallout 1 and 2, and the writer of the Fallout Bible said that the intelligent animals in Fallout 2 "all died the moment the game ended" because he hated them.
@rolay77302 жыл бұрын
@@senhowler The fallout bible isn't perfect, but they actually meant to change it when they made new versions. After all, the same guy who hated the talking animals wanted the psykers to all die off, so the game series didn't get too strange. It has gotten much stranger than he ever imagined since then, so it makes sense that it would be changed. I mean, do talking rats really compare to the eldritch abominations that broke into our world through radiation? Sometimes retcons are needed so that a story universe can grow and expand. Some retcons are required, like pruning a tree. You are still hurting the tree by pruning it, and doing it too much will kill the tree, but it is still needed sometimes. On the other hand, quite a few of the retcons Bethesda does seem to be from ignorance/disinterest in continuity rather than disliking a plot point and wanting to change it. They could have easily justified the power armor changes. I would even go as for as to say that it is closer to the power armor they showed in fallout 1-2. But the way power cores burn out just makes no sense. They are so common that they aren't a limiting factor past early game. So it doesn't even make sense balance-wise. My point is that I believe that having something like the Fallout Bible is important. It helps keep the world consistent until it needs to be changed. Plus, that way they decide to change something, there is a quick way to find what else needs to change in the world with it.

Are 76's creations really that farfetched considering we've had giant mutated Jackson's chameleons, hybrid coyote-rattlesnakes, and giant wasps?
@rolay77302 жыл бұрын
@@superspinosaurus1 I never said anything in 76 was far-fetched. I said that they needlessly changed things breaking continuity. That is my main problem, there are lots of "far-fetched" things in fallout, but they feel like they fit the story. Plus, none of those mutated animals have anything to do with the actual story problems. For example. Why make the base building canon? They actually gave each vault 76 resident a full-on fabricator that can take a few steel scrap and make guns. That type of tech was already canon with the Sierra Madre vending machines, so it makes sense that it would exist. But that still makes me question how there is so little civilization 200 years later if literally thousands of people had fabricators that could build shelters and even robot stations to do work for them. Remember the Mega bases from fallout 4? With robot armies, Laster turrets, and Lots of industrial water purifiers? They made the Tech to do that canon. Everyone has that ability now, and they made SURE that every player knew it because the introductory section of the game has cardboard cutouts that explain how they are important to the story. Speaking of the Sierra Madre vending machines, that entire DLC was about how they were amazing because surviving fabricators like that could build civilizations. He said they would be what he built his nation on. But literally, everyone in vault 76 got one before they left only 25 years after the apocalypse. As I said, it actually isn't "far-fetched" because the tech exists. It is still bad, though, because it makes no sense with how much this should change the world. As someone who is playing 76's story, my question the entire time is, " if we don't see any of these factions, they must all die off and leave almost nothing behind, right?" Everything you do in-game must not affect the future because all of the other games happen over 200 years later, and none of these factions exist. Maybe some of them will show up in the next game as small as the minutemen at the beginning of 4, but they can't be much stronger if the other games' stories haven't changed. I am currently in the middle of the gold quest, and when someone said, " with this gold, we could build a nation," I almost laughed. The capital wasteland and the pit are not that far away. If there was a government between them and Boston, we should have heard about it. So either everything the player did was for nothing, and the faction dies off quietly, or they are changing the world a LOT for no reason.

Also I don't believe the SS is a Synth. The only Synth that has pre-war memories was Nick Valentine and even then his memories are very limited. No other Synths are shown to know about it, so it'd be unlikely that only the SS would be given such a specific and detailed memory.
