When I first played Fallout, it was Fallout 1 and misreading the game made me think that Nuka Cola was both rare and never respawned, so I hoarded every bottle in a footlocker in the BoS bunker. Ever since it's been my Fallout tradition to play as a character that is a Nuka Cola superfan but never drinks it, just keeps it all in a footlocker somewhere in the world.

Not only is nuka cola a parody of hersheys/coca cola but i remember years ago reading something about nuka cola beating out coca cola from the market along with a couple other real world brands but it either didnt make it into canon due to copyright issues or it was in an early game and it was removed for copyright reasons.

The reason for this is that Quantum isn't really supposed to be drank, it's a modified version of a government funded weapon. Actual Nuka Cola has, IIRC, 120% the daily amount of sugar, so it isn't much better lol. Fallout lore is pretty weird

I find it comforting that so many still enjoy FO4 as much as I do. Then I discovered in game roleplay. This has made it 100X better. Simply having a mindset during the entire game is fun. Just for anyone needing an idea for how big Nuka got: Coca-Cola is currently the largest soda-beverage/soft drink corporation in the world, amassing a whopping $267.09 billion in value, yet the closest thing to an entire amusement park that Coca-Cola has is the "World of Coca-Cola", a decent size exhibit next to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia, USA (The entire exhibit is just a little museum explaining the history of Coca-Cola and not an actual amusement park. Also, Coca-Cola controls only 46.3% of just the US market for soft drinks. Oh and by the way, Coke was made in 1886(becoming a business in 1892). Impressive right? Well what if I told you Nuka-Cola controlled 99.9% of the entire world's market (except maybe communist countries) in soft drinks? Oh AND they had created a amusement park roughly equivalent to Disney World in 2049, being opened to the public in 2050. Oh yeah, not to mention, Nuka-Cola was founded in 2044. That means in only 6 years, Nuka-Cola had become more than TWICE THE SIZE OF COCA-COLA COMPANY AND BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL MONOPOLY!

Interestingly, since the Fallout world only diverges from our own after 1945, that means that Coca-Cola definitely existed and was a thing for more than 50 years at that point. Considering Nuka Cola wasn't created until 2044, it was probably still the most popular Soft Drink up to that point.
