The dialogue is good for most characters because all of them feel like they live in the same world. The Mojave is important, the Strip, the NCR and Legion Conflict, the Jacobstown Mutants.. all of the Companions have something to say about all of these as well. In other RPG games characters have their head up their ass.

Damn I love this guy. One of the few characters that tempts me into joining the NCR. I like letting him continue to falsify reports, then doing the Independent ending. There, it allows Chief Hanlon to become Senator Hanlon by denouncing the imperialist hawks like Kimball and Oliver. Gives me hope that Hanlon will help the NCR change its ways.
@Slender_Man_1863 жыл бұрын
I prefer the House Ending, that way trade relations with the NCR and Mojave are kept open, as well as to expose the Crimson Caravan and Van Graff’s in Cass’ quest.

House or Yes Man are better for the NCR too. Giving the Mojave to the NCR would only enable the warhawks like Kimble and Oliver into going further west and north.

That’s such a tough decision. I’m on my first play through (’m late to the party) I ask myself, would I sacrifice 50 of my men to save 1000. Maybe it hits too close to home for me but this decision has me really thinking it through. I love this game lol.
@rejvaik002 жыл бұрын
I like him too and I feel very sad but I gotta turn him in because he's messing with the lives of the people that he's supposed to be guiding and protecting Now it's admirable he doesn't agree politically with the Mojave campaign that's understandable and it's admirable that he's a hero for defending the dam in the very first battle and I would recommend that those two actions enough for him to be given clemency for his crimes he doesn't need to be tried for treason mind you but his crime definitely would need to be known When you're out in the middle of the war zone you're fighting not for your flag but for the men at your back and at your side Your job is to ensure they come home And Hanlon sadly through no fault of his own has grown desensitized to the deaths and failures of the NCR he's forgotten this

What a cool character, I love how his self confidence isn't there and you have to pry the information out of him and force him to recognize that he's done some good. In a lot of other games you'd ask a general type character like him for his life story and he'd just dump it out, but he's so mysterious and reserved that it really makes you prove your interest in him.

Hanlon is wise, and, the rest of the NCR had this air of superiority that expects you to see any one of them highly as a person, even after they shoot you for talking shit about someone they cut out of their life. Hanlon isn't vengeful, he's a man with harsh solutions for a grim reality. It really hurt to see him burdened by sleepy eyed hopefuls that can't stand on their own accord or look up to their own leaders. Hanlon is the only likeable NCR personality.

@@Killerscratch There are zero well done characters in 4. There are good *ideas* for characters (i.e. a Brotherhood Paladin who is actually a synth, a crackpot reporter who sees conspiracies everywhere, but it turns out she might be right, an old timey detective who is a proto-type synth whom people trust/tolerate only because he could never pass for a human, etc.) but they fall short of ever doing anything meaningful or truly evolving as a character. @Slender_Man_1863 жыл бұрын
@@someirishguy1662 ultimately though, Hanlon would agree with having a massive border state of securitrons between the NCR and the Legion, and House would still be willing to trade with the NCR. House would probably be willing to trade power from the dam and water from the lake to the NCR.

Hanlon would see House as the worst and best instincts of the NCR brahmins dialed up to 11, while House would be profoundly insulted at the idea a Ranger had anything worth learning. I think it says a lot that I have zero interest in any NPCs from 3 or 4. They're all from 1, 2, or New Vegas. In all of 3 and 4 combined, there are maybe two or three interesting moral dilemmas, and about as many interesting NPCs. I'm even counting Harold who wasn't a new character in 3. NV was filled to the brim with them. Idc if I sound like a fanboy, but for me, New Vegas is simply the best written piece of interactive fiction of all time.
