@@TheVeryBestBaby Yes, the technical problems are really unfortunate. I also play on Xbox 1 and I kid you not, when I was in vault 3, fighting the fiends my game would crash EVERY TIME I went into a new area in the vault. Example: let’s say I’m in the bedroom area, if I go through the door that leads to the recreational area the game would crash. So, I’d exit the game, boot it back up, and I’d end up in said recreational area. Thank goodness that hasn’t happened to me again, yet. Although I do despise the bugs, technical issues, etc. I feel like if you attempt to look past it, you’ll find a game with a great story, and fun gameplay (some might think the gameplay is buggy and messy, I personally like it.)

Nephi is like a captain or petty warlord. To say you don't pity any Mongol because Genghis and Subutai don't value human life seems fallacious. I bet plenty of fiends were just NCR citizens who ended up on hard times and had no choice but to rally behind a strong independent power. Running drugs beats being indebted to and milked by the NCR simply for the privilege of existing. Then one thing leads to another and before they know it they're injecting 5000ml of medx into their eyes every day just to stay normal.

Even if they never added the fiends as a joinable faction, I still wish they had left this in the game. For one thing, there’s the part in the game where you can talk to the fiends and get into vault 3, so not all of the fiends are automatically hostile. Still, most players would be used to the fiends being instantly hostile and would have a good chance of attacking these guys as soon as they saw them. Also, killing them is part of the Three-Card Bounty quest, so they would have even more incentive to kill them. But, if they chose to hold off their attack they would be confused about why these fiends aren’t attacking them and if they approached Nephi or one of the other fiend leaders, they would be rewarded with this unique dialogue.

Small idea I thought of if this was not cut: If you have a low karma and a high melee skill, he could've given you a perk to increase the damage you do when you do a charge attack, like those unarmed perks you can learn from people which allow you to do special attacks.

I'm doing a New Vegas run after about ten years away... I rushed guns and sneak and tore straight through the cazadores north of Goodsprings. The Viper clan, and the Fiends shot the hell out of me, but I made it to Camp McCarren fairly easily I was taking random VATS headshots at guys and oh shit, I killed Driver Nephi on the way, and collected his head to give as a ransom my character didn't even know about yet... This game is so open-ended

It's so bad we can't join them in the official game. It really feels like a missing piece (it is!). Also, their presence makes it harder to have negative karma, because they attack you on sight and every time you kill them to defend yourself you get positive karma. In a past run I had committed all kinds of atrocities but in the end I had neutral karma for that reason.
