Honestly it’s in the quality of the dialogue, there’s way more depth and articulation to it (giving the voice actor much more to work with). This moment actually is one of the best written bits in New Vegas. Why? Well, jerkasses in the real world often have traumatic pasts which turn them bitter, but most never commit crimes. Imagine what would happen if there were no laws to stop them from acting even worse. You'd have a lot more Philippes in the world, hence you have the Fiends, cannibals, raiders, slavers, gangs... plenty of chaotic and neutral evil villains.

@@robertsmalls2293 you'll note a lack of "population overgrowth" in Fallout. Also, generally speaking "bandit groups" like the Fiends and Fallout's various raiders are as fictional as the Deathclaw. In order to actually formed sustained raiding, you'd need some form of outside stability that raiding effectively becomes an "industry" in (vikings, pirates, etc), or you need to make it an effective military force (in which case it's still sustained by a civilian population, like the Mongols). They exist in Fallout because Fallout is based on a tabletop role playing game that needed a standard set of enemies to tell the story with. There won't be "bands of druggies unchecked by a lack of cops" because we don't live in a video game and drug addiction and crime rates don't work like that. Also, fun historical note: Martin Luther King Jr's contemporaries despised him for inciting riots under the guise of "peaceful protests" and constantly portrayed him as a threatening figure to the majority of Americans. He was only considered a good man retroactively, as what he was protesting was done away with and life got better for people, and the majority again decided that to go any further would be actually going too far. It's very very important that people are aware of the similarities there and don't consume modern media as if it is unbiased and without personal motivations, especially in these polarized times.

He sounds like he's about to cry with his last sentence. The only thing that could make it better is if instead of walking off at the end, he runs off and starts crying like a little girl lol

"It won't fill the hole, though. Remember that. You will always feel empty." I was doing this quest before confronting Benny, and for some reason, this piece of dialogue struck me more than anything ever when I finally attempted to get the chip back from him.

I just noticed that apparently theres a missed detail about the courier's expression in this dialogue. Their face is dirty and they wear a vacant expression

It's interesting how the game SAYS he's yelling at you, but his volume doesn't really get all that high...now that I think about it, that's a thing in a LOT of video games...the only time you'll hear something truly SCREAM at you is in, like, horror games and stuff. They never have voice-actors actually shout their lines...

Man, seeing all these fallout clips really are opening my eyes to just how bad fallout 4 was. The graphics updates were great, but they really just scrapped the role playing & writing all together...

This interaction summarizes pretty well why I love new Vegas more than fallout 3 and/or 4. The way you can interact is so fascinating and the fact that your other skills have an actual effect on outcomes that aren’t just charisma that you can random chance into still getting.

You know. I actually began to feel sad for him. Dad walks out when the boy's five. Mom turns to drugs and brings strange/iffy men into her home and said men say “Call me Uncle”. Which is weird asf. Sister's lock him into a shipping crate and I'm guessing that's how he got separated from his family. And his brother is just entirely unknown. Sad
