Jack wanted to do a spot, people advised him not to. He cusses at them and ignores the advice. One of them goes to Punk and asks him to help reason with Jack. (A very telling moment, that they go to Punk instead of to Tony Khan, lack of leadership?) Punk says its not his show, asks why should he be doing this. Lets assume that Punk knows Tony Khan cant or doesn't manage talents well. Despite this, Punk reluctantly agrees to talk some sense into Jack. Later, the advice goes unheard, and Jack decides to do the spot and also make shade remarks during broadcast. Jack finishes the match. Punk meets him backstage and asks about the remark. Jack says "do something about it" Punk did something about it. If Jack didn't make that remark on broadcast, things might have just blown over. But when you make a remark, directed towards the same person who was trying to help you. And mind you, not many knew about the glass remark prior to this scuffle... You are intentionally stirring shit. So what happens when you take all of this, and then say "do something about it" What the fuck do you think was gonna happen? I would've put em in a chokehold too!
@ryankeefe21026 ай бұрын

This is dead on. People are complaining that Jack's suspension was too long when he instigated the entire situation which lead to the company's biggest draw leaving. The problem in AEW is 100% Tony Khan. He is not a leader. A good leader would have squashed all of these incidents before they got out of hand. He needs to hire a management team and creative team for this company and focus on business deals, advertising and booking arenas.

As somebody old enough to remember, its hillarious to me, how much this modern era of wrestling is mirroring the whole Monday night Wars era... AEW is making every mistake WCW made. The parallels are kind of stunning to think about. In the early 90s, WWE was in an era that was very childish, cartoonish, and "PG"... Then WCW showed up and kicked off some competition, eventually giving way to the NWO/ATTITUDE era... In this modern sense, WWE once again, had became very stale and "PG". Then, AEW shows up, and they're a company on the rise. They start taking talent from WWE, just like WCW... They start rising and becoming real competition for WWE, just like WCW... Then they let their failure to conduct business properly, and the fact that the wrestlers are basically running the company, JUST like WCW... and JUST like back then, they've pushed WWE into one of their biggest era's ever.. This IS the new Attitude era I believe. Now here we are, AEW shitting all over all the great work some of their roster's doing... by making the focus of their whole show be about one of the Top guys from the other company... Much like when Bischoff was giving away finishes to WWE matches and people just turned the channel to watch it lol. There's a lot of parallels. As for this crap last night... Thats one of the most retarded moves I've ever seen a company make. If that was supposed to prove Punk lied in the Ariel interview, they failed horribly. Because what you saw on the screen, was pretty much exactly what Punk said in the interview. I had high hopes for AEW in the beginning... for the first couple years... but if Tony don't take control of his company, the Petite Elite are going to run it right into the ground.

Everything attached to the AEW brand in the last two years has been hacky. The presentation of the storylines, the clumsy promos, the video game, the owner's public relations and media appearances, the leadership structure unable to communicate (too much ghosting or passive-aggressiveness), the over-promising and under-delivering on debuts and other announcements, etc. Then on top of it, constantly patting themselves on the back on how great they're doing with everything. It all feels disingenuous and thrown together. I watched almost every week for the first year or so, then started watching only clips of things that looked interesting. Now, I scroll past the clips entirely. There's really no excuse for a wrestling promotion and television show that is this well-funded, with that much talent and name notoriety to be this consistently awful in just about every area and by almost any measurement. Basically, for every step forward, they end up fumbling it a few steps back. Until the leadership can admit to their failures and quality issues, it will only deteriorate further. It's a fan-driven business, and the fans that have left the product are insulted by the remaining die hards for leaving. Basically being gaslit like nobody knows what good wrestling TV looks like.

Punk told them if they have a problem come to him and they did. I'm sure if that footage comes out punk will probably be the one throwing the first punch like he always is. Disagree with Dave about Copeland's promo. A lot of people criticized it. AEW has opportunities but TK is simply not a business strategist. He's a wrestling fan with a lot of money to play with. @@QAZ-OMEN I refuse to believe that even two douchebags who are as delusional as the Bucks, are stupid enough to think that hamfistedly trying to somehow tie the footage to their match with FTR was an idea that could work. The only thing that people care even less about right now than the Young Bucks in general, is seeing the old-ass, ice-cold, stale-as-hell feud with FTR regurgitated for what feels like the 127th time. It doesn't matter what they're trying to use to hype that match up, nobody cares! None of the extra viewers who only tuned in to see the Wembley security cam footage, are going to watch that match. I'm waiting for the quarter-hour ratings, to see if a significant portion of those additional viewers even stayed around during Jericho's six-man crapfest right after. Normally, Jericho appearing on the screen these days is the signal for several tens of thousands of viewers to change the channel or turn the TV off and go to bed. The "demo god" costs AEW up to 100k viewers whenever he has a match. Not even the remaining reasonable "moderate" AEW fans, who don't behave like brainwashed tribalistic drones in a cult, want to see Jericho and the Bucks anymore. They're tired of seeing the Bucks have the exact same match with the exact same moves over and over for half a decade. And Jericho isn't even on the level he was performing at in 2022/early 2023 anymore. And 2022 Jericho already wasn't remotely anywhere near his last run in WWE, in quality. He's slow, sloppy as hell, has no energy or stamina left, and he looks like absolute shit. If there was ever somebody in the business who needed to switch to being a "T-shirt wrestler" or retire from the ring altogether more than Chris Jericho in 2024, I don't ever want to see any footage of him.

Wat's even worse for EW is that WWE isn't going back to the Attitude Era, they're basically modernizing the 80s with the realistic feeling and not overstepping the boundaries. That's the sweet spot that'll guarantee much longer success, whereas the Attitude Era only worked in the 90s.

There were multiple Free Agents that chose other places to go. What other answer would you exp ct from a guy like H, who got it the way he got it. The man worked hurt, and injured. Worked that crazy WWE Schedule for years, so of course he wouldn't want anyone who wasn't willing to do the same. No matter what your reasoning is, you're not cut out for WWE, so they don't even want to bother with you. Go and make as money as possible, while doing little to nothing.

Turning lemons lemonade with Ospreay and of course now Jack Perry (which was obviously coming). Jack Perry will really need a mouth on him to milk all this out, but both incidents are mixing in a lot of reality which is a bold play. (It will all be a work of course.) Already Ospreay has delivered with a GOAT match at Dynasty. Both organizations are now having notable international success. One day there will be an international promotion that needs wrestlers to NOT be based in the United States. Ospreay has shown himself to be the most dynamic in ring talent in the business right now. Busted Open sez we'll look back at this AEW show and it was the beginning of the end, but it may yet prove to be a turning point. Ospreay is going to be must see in UK. And how many wrestlers must die for HHH's vision of the business?
