If you have Fate dice, just paint in one of the "-" signs in on each die, so that you have a 1 the (-) minus sign, "2" with a different color (-) minus sign, 2 "+" for the special symbols and 2 blanks, so they will match the challenge dice exactly. And you can still use them as Fate dice.

I didn't find Scavanging confusing at all, I love the system in fact, the only problem I had was the lack of info on what different locations would contain. I'd have loved a "Sample Grocery Store" or "Example Factory" list that I could have drawn from in a pinch. Otherwise, the system is really cool.

Simplest way to do a setting is to either do the research on it (both irl and for game lore if any) or make it up. For gear and things like that, the best way to go about it, at least in the beginning until you learn the mechanics and how to integrate things in a balanced manner, is to use pre-existing items and just rename them. If it's a unique item (like one of a kind) then go all out.

From my understanding, they don't have licensing for the settings used in DC (Fallout 3) and New Vegas, nor any of the older Fallout games from Black Isle. So, sure, they could have DC as a setting, but all of the factions and the like that were included specifically in that game (like Megaton) couldn't be included (so why bother?) It's the same reason that the initial Firefly game wasn't Firefly at all, but only "Serenity" (because it was based on the movie and not the series thanks to licensing)
@knightsaberZ422 жыл бұрын
I kinda figured. That's a real bummer though.
@jimbobjones93302 жыл бұрын
@@knightsaberZ42 Odds are, they could _probably_ get the settings for Fallout 76 and Fallout 3 (because, IIRC, those were strictly Bethesda projects). It's Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout New Vegas that will be the challenge, and those obviously depend on how well this product does. That said, I'm still a bit torn because parts of this feel REALLY granular (such as the ammo types and the tracking different armor types) -- so I'm not entirely sure if I'll buy it or not.
@knightsaberZ422 жыл бұрын
@@jimbobjones9330 I think you have to be a very big fan to pick this up and play it with no problems. Some of the systems in place need to be fleshed out a little bit more. I'm still on the fence on whether the 2d20 system was the best system to use.

@@knightsaberZ42 I'm a big fan of the first 4 Fallouts (1, 2, 3, and NV), but didn't exactly _love_ Fallout 4. It felt like a huge amount of wasted potential, and more an action game than an RPG. After finishing 4 (just a few months ago, actually -- I bought it years ago, played for a couple of hours, and got bored -- just picked it up recently to try it again), I went back and PLOWED through New Vegas again, and had so much more fun than I did with Fallout 4. I'll probably wait until more supplements come out for this before I decide it if's worthwhile.

I'd say 35, minimum of 1, maximum of 10, wherever you want. Fallout 4 started nicely with the fewer points. If you couldn't raise them so easily, it would have been better. Between perks and gifts to raise each skill by one each in this TTRPG, you can take an 8 to a 10 very early on if you focus it. That said, I wished perks that up SPECIAL could only be taken once.
