Regarding "One" the special boss securitron with a binary name: it does indeed have the Stonewall perk and thus is immune to knockback; and its name is a binary string that when read as a series of bytes (reading each set of 8 bits) it would become 79, 110, 101 which is "One" when encoded as an ASCII or UTF-8 string: it's more of a programming joke than a maths joke.

For the DLC campaigns the ability to leave and return them progressively got more lax: In Dead Money you can't leave until you finish it and once you leave you can never return In Honest Hearts you can't leave until you beat it, but you can ruin the quest to leave early, and can return whenever you want but all of the side quests are gone Old World Blues you can't leave until the end, but once you leave you can return whenever and all the quests (besides the brain's quests) remain Lonesome Road you can come and go from the it as you please and you can return whenever you feel like it, and any side content (there aren't really any full quests in it) is also still available

Regarding Lonesome Road, while, to my mind, it's an interesting idea in concept, it's just not executed very well. The base game goes out of its way to establish that the Courier is a complete blank slate with no established backstory, then suddenly out of nowhere Lonesome Road conjures up this elaborate backstory about The Divide and tries to guilt-trip you for something you (as a player OR character) could not possibly have any knowledge of or responsibility for. It doesn't help that the plot of Lonesome Road itself is quite frankly rather ham-fisted and pretentious. Ulysses waffles on and on about flags and nations and symbols when he's basically just a man-child who wants to commit genocide for literally no other reason than that the NCR and Legion don't fit his exact pre-conceived notion of what society "should" be, and he spends the entire DLC hovering his hand over the literal big red button yelling "look at what you're making me do, Courier! You're about to make me nuke everyone! This is all YOUR fault!". And unlike, say, BioShock, where the entire story is carefully built around the central plot twist that recontextualises everything you've done so far, this just comes out of nowhere. If the idea is "the winning move is not to play", then there needs to be adequate foreshadowing that this is the case, and at least offer a satisfying alternate route instead of just shrugging and saying "welp, guess I won't play any of this DLC I paid money to play". You don't have any idea of what Ulysses is actually trying to do basically until the end, at which point you can make the argument that you need to stop him because he could just change his mind and launch the nukes anyway. (What makes it worse is that the game INSISTS that you take his BS seriously and you can never call him out on how utterly stupid his ideology actually is.) The whole thing feels like a cheap shot at the player where the DLC is basically blaming you for something you have absolutely no control over, and acts like Ulysses being a genocidal maniac is somehow YOUR fault. That and the DLC tries so hard to mythologise the idea of a "Courier" that it approaches badly written fan-fiction levels of cringe.

What Jon tries to say around 13:30 is: the robots's "name" is a binary sequence of 24 bits (every 0 or 1 being one bit). Using a technique called utf-8, ascii-Symbols (basically the English alphabet plus some stuff) can be encoded into 8 binary digits a piece - this sequence here decodest to the utf-8 characters 'o', 'n' and 'e', "one".

It doesn't need utf-8, just ASCII. UTF-8 functionally extends Ascii to allow more characters by reserving the most significant bit as an extension bit that allows multi-byte characters to be used, these are three 1 byte characters, so while it is compatible with UTF-8 characters, it's just ASCII.

@37:10 - I think the logic for the speed implant being in the Cazador lab is that Cazador Poison Glands are one of the ingredients of Turbo (ie, the chem that makes you so fast the world seems to slow down around you; a Broc Flower, Jet and Turpentine are the other three ingredients). edit: On the speed issue, it's such a shame that the Stealth Suit Mk II is, without mods, a Medium armor (so no Travel Light or Tunnel Runner speed bonuses) whose 20% crouching speed boost when fully-upgraded is broken and not actually applied, no matter what its description tells you. :(

Cyberdogs are counted as animals, they are affected by the hunter perk and increment all challenges that relate to animals. They aren't affected by pulse weaponry, they have 22 health and 2 armor. Pulse slugs do .7x damage even without their pulse effect so it's still plenty enough damage to kill them. Also, as I've stated previously night stalkers are abominations. It's just that for what ever reason animal friend has a few special exceptions as to what it considers an animal or not that makes it a bit inconsistent.

For the Securiton boss' name, you need to first break it into three. 01001111 01101110 01100101. The first four digits (0100 or 0110) determine whether it's a capital letter or not. The latter 4 digits (1111, 1110 and 0101) are, respectively, 15, 14, and 5 -- or the 15th letter, the 14th letter and the 5th letter. O-n-e. Binary numbers represent units of 2 (hence the name). We call that number system "base 2." The regular number system is written in base 10. We go from 0 to 9, then add a second digit and start over again -- 10. Binary goes from 0 to 1. So "10" in binary is actually read as 2. Then if you want to write 3, you add 1. 11 is 3. Four then adds a third digit -- just as the base 10 system does when going from 99 to 100. 100 in binary is 4. 0000 = 0; 0001 = 1; 0010 = 2; 0011 = 3; 0100 = 4; 0101 = 5; 0110 = 6; 0111 = 7; 1000 = 8; 1001 = 9; 1010 = 10; 1011 = 11; 1100 = 12; 1101 = 13; 1110 = 14; 1111 = 15 ... and so on and so forth. Five digits is 16, six digits is 32, seven digits is 64, and eight is 128.

Regarding Securitron "010011110110111001100101", or "One", that is correct. There's 24 characters here, and binary tends to be grouped into 8 "bits", where 8 "bits" equals 1 "byte", and 1 byte will create an English letter. So if you divide those 24 characters into 3 sets of 8 bits, you get "01001111 01101110 01100101", and the first set is "O", second set is "n", and third set is "e". You can try it out for yourself in a Binary-to-English translator!

Gotta love Jon's limited gun knowledge. He switches to pulse SLUGS and then wonders why "And Stay Back" isn't working as well. A slug is a single projectile instead of the 7 of standard shells. And "And Stay Back" works independently on each projectile.

Huh, I never would have realised. I thought slugs were just bigger shotgun shots. That's useful to know.
@JB-xl2jc
@JB-xl2jc Жыл бұрын
@@ITNODoveYep, best to think of a slug somewhat similarly to a gigantic rifle round. Although that's complicated by the fact that not every shotgun is rifled and may instead be smooth bore given the typical load is buckshot.

Spineless, heartless, cyborg, adamantium skeleton with all the NV Clinic perks is one of my favorite mixes. Throw some toughness on top of the aforementioned - yeah, tank! Everything after max strong back and fast travel while encumbered is extra. Good times -> Lord Death looter shooter farm. Legendary Bloat-fly Paciencia crit on a sneak crit on top of good modded damage with the appropriate rounds equals insane damage. If you have perks like commando and anti-abomination and insect damage buffs in addition to the aforementioned - well, I think you know where this is going. Weapons like Paciencia become hand of god tier; at this time everything at the business end of your boom stick is on the naughty list. Lol Good vid.

My math might be a bit fuzzy, but medium armor baseline reduces movement speed to 92.5% (-7.5% movement speed). If the adjustments are additive, as your breakdown implies, that would mean the total movement speed adjustment while wearing the fully upgraded X-13 Stealth Suit with the implant would be + 32.5%. That's only +2.5% more above baseline than Perk+Implant using the Assassin Suit from Dead Money (which would calculate out to + 30% total) with at best 7 more bonus sneak (the 25 listed on the description - 10 for the medium armor penalty + 2 for the additional 1 agility if not at cap for a total of +17 sneak from the X-13 armor) than the Assassin Armor's +10. Toss in X-13's love for getting its wearers addicted to med-x, 5 less mass available for other supplies (X-13 masses 25, Assassin Armor masses 20) and the incessant chatter I'm not seeing the net benefit of X-13 over the just as easily available Assassin Armor. Toss in Tunnel Runner along side Travel Light and the implant and you're looking at a total movement speed while sneaking for the Assassin Armor of +55% which makes X-13 look like even worse of a choice.

I love the Heartless perk for two reasons, first is that your heart is visible in the Sink (the best player home) and second is the Immunity to Poison, which renders Cazadors into significantly weaker enemies, since they rely pretty heavily on Poison for their damage.

So we know that depending on your standing position the time it takes to fast travel differs. However that brings up a new question what if you actively sprinting when you pull up the pit boy? does it count as standing speed or is that a 3rd option? OR swimming can you technically fast travel swim across the map for a 4th option?

I modded fallout 4 so i could craft 2 legendary powers onto each piece of gear, and once you get past a certain speed (like 30-40% increased) the game becomes basically unplayable because every teeny tiny pebble on the ground causes your movement to hitch and stall. I was extremely sad i couldnt be Sneaky B. Fastman.

The giant robo-scorpion in the Forbidden Zone in OWB has more health and DT than the Legendary Bloatfly at level 30-something and above, up to 3.5k or 4k HP and 30DT I think? I don't remember. Though, to be fair, you're not really supposed to kill it through brute force one-on-one. And for the sake of thoroughness, the albino scorpions in FO3 with Broken Steel have 1500 HP, and they're a regular enemy that often come in groups of 2 or 3. I don't remember how much DT they have with TTW though.

Day 1073 of requesting Zoo Tycoon. Honestly, a lot of the tech in the Big MT doesn't seem too wildly advanced in comparison to the stuff you can find in other parts of postwar USA. Some of that's power creep, but I also feel like it's a symptom of compartmentalized development. Everyone thought their secret project was the only secret project, and as a result you end up with teleportation, instant cloning, artificial human production, gene splicing, and hologram soldiers scattered across the landscape instead of combined into a single location.

Killing the legendary bloatfly with single shot rifles is always a headache. An assault carbine or light machine gun with hollow point rounds does the trick for me. Of course the 25mm Grenade APW button mash strategy still does the job here.
