Something more practical would be making the equivalent of a potato scotch egg - you’d have to use a boiled egg, but wrap it in mashed potato and seasonings then deep fry that sucker. Could crank out a lot of them fairly quickly and they’d be great.

No, normal butter has solids that will potentially burn by the time the potatoes are done. You can easily make your own clarified butter.

Just your casual 4-5 hour hash brown and eggs. Meanwhile you could just spend 15 minutes making hash browns and over easy fried eggs and put some seasoning on it and have basically the exact same taste and no hassle
