First principle techniques have been used for millennia to discover our world and improve it. Nicholas Usher defines False First Principles and how they power innovation. Nicholas Usher is a sophomore at Classical Academy High School and is passionate about robotics, science, and inventing. He is the co-founder of a competitive robotics team and has been building robots with his teammates for the past six years. He is the lead mechanical engineer and designer for his robotics team and works extensively in C.A.D. (Computer Aided Design) to create and iterate upon designs throughout the season. He is also very passionate about a broad range of science topics and won the Grand Award in the physical sciences at the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair with his project on the application of superconductors in transportation. During his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, solving Rubik's cubes, and reading. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

The first principle regarding purchases is: A person will buy only if they trust the source. So that principle isn't proven false even today. Amazon made online shopping trustworthy. Hence, won the market.

I'd term the false first principles as "Second or Subsequent Principles"

What you mentioned is a method used by some people in a period of time,It‘s not first principle at all.

first priniples isnt static to begin with. what was true then may not be true with time. thus always revisit the first principle. it isnt false, it is dated or wrong.

Your line of thinking is flawed by the rules itself. Elon saw past what you’re saying to see the real first principles, which is why he was successful. You’re just expressing how difficult it truly is to actually use real first principles. It’s not easy. 👍🏻
