About Our Guest:
Neeraj Madhav also known by his stage name NJ is an Indian actor, rapper and dancer who predominantly works in Malayalam films. Neeraj is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. He is also trained in chenda. Neeraj made his entry to the Malayalam cinema industry through Buddy into which he was selected through an audition. He was later noticed by director Jeethu Joseph and was invited to be a part of his movies Memories and Drishyam, both turned out to be box office successes, with the latter becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. He later on went on to do lead characters and the turning point happened with him bagging the pivotal role in The Family Man with Manoj Vajpayee made by the team Raj and DK. His latest release is RDX with Shane Nigam, Anthony Varghese Pepe. He plays the character of Xavy in the movie.
Neeraj also turned rapper with his Rap songs and EPs. The song Panipali became a huge hit. He went on to collaborate and create several songs.
Neeraj is married to Deepthi and has a daughter Nilanka.
In this three-part conversation Neeraj talks about his struggles as an upcoming actor devoid of any filmy connections. He talks about Nepotism and the ease with which Star Kids can operate in this industry. He talks about his passion his music and why he chose to be a rapper. I agree with Neeraj on how people have to pretend to b something else so they are not been attacked for what they are.. Men might be facing it only in social or professional life. But each girl has to go through this after marriage..might be not all.. but I don't know anyone who doesn't face this confusion. Actually, Prithviraj has said almost the same thing after facing lots of public backlash through social media. It's pretty frustrating for actors. The audience indirectly tries to control the actors. I wonder how these audiences would feel if anyone forced them to be in a way they are not interested in. This set of audience should understand that actors or celebrities are just humans who live on the same planet as they live.

I think this is one of my most favourite interviews of all. My intent was to watch the first few minutes of Part One but ended up watching the whole thing. What he said about false humility was right. And he received a lot of backlash and trolled for not seeming 'humble and nice' to the audience. Before RDX, he was trolled for being cast in a action movie, belittling him and here he answered those trolls and negativity with his kickass performance. I think he is an ambitious guy just like many others but is belittled and trolled because of his outspoken nature. It was hard for him as he wasn't a people pleaser but I believe he is in a space better than before. May all your dreams come true. NJ P.S.: I also liked the fact that he addressed the toxic side of Bollywood he luckily wasn't in, and didn't simply romanticise or overpraise the industry he worked in. Humility isn't overrated but the way the terms are used for celebrities and all is a bit overrated. Especially with their interaction with fans or public appearances, there would be comments like' Oh what a humble guy with no arrogance about who they are. Judging a personality through that one clip or that's what you only want. If it's the opposite, some might justify if it's their favourite person and if it is someone else, abuse and bully for the "arrogance." Now coming to the interview(s) , some people watch if it's the person they like, and loyal fans would watch everything. I believe some of them have got interesting stories and that makes me curious to know more and I watch those interviews, some guests aware of the space and content would sometimes make up things and try hard to make it seem like a 'Struggle.' That's the good thing of the interviews: interesting stories, a positive energy after almost every interviews seen (something which you never feel if you watched the other interviews where the hosts make the guests uncomfortable and ask the most ridiculous questions on the pretext of fun.) Amidst of all that, Dhanya Varma is a TRUE SAVIOUR! I want to point out some not-so- good things in those interviews lately.: the questions. Most of them are generic and too repetitive. Especially asking female celebrities about women being safe in the industry, and outsider struggle and too much of personal questions. Sure, she has asked permission to ask personal questions such as loss of loved ones, breakups and so on. But sometimes I feel it is a bit too much. What others interviewers forcefully intrude in privacy, you slowly step into it (with their knowledge, of course) Sometimes, you pester a lot to tell more. Especially in Gautami's interview where you were pestering her a LOT. Sure, she wouldn't have minded but then we should know where to stop and stop if they don't want to tell anymore. Even in Nikhila's interview, the entire part 2 was about her late father and so I didn't watch that part. Let all the episodes of one's life be explored organically and shouldn't be forcefully delved for the sake of it. And you asked Nikhila the question that every one asked whenever she goes on air for 'making a statement' which only flowed in her conversation and not for any intent: 'Why don't you join politics?' That's the most ridiculous question ever asked in the whole interview. I was stunned when you ask that. The audience fall for the tone and the approach which overlooks what is being conveyed. Both are important but don't get lose in the calm and soothing tone that you overlook what is being said. These are the thoughts for now. This is no intent for discouragement but just to let you know. Now, off to watch your interview with Asif Ali.

Before watching this interview, I watched a recent troll on him. Regarding his stage performance. In that video, I commented that, there is no reason troll him. He is brilliant. I said that he will become internationally popular . I like his music and albums. And now in this video he is saying that he wants to be a dancer internationally. why do we have to be a good person or bad person , if we are listening to what the director say what to do from Start to Cut? Why do we have to spit our troubles or glories , if we are supposed to do what the director says from Star to Cut ?
