This is the first Plus/4 demo I’ve seen, and I have to say I’m really impressed with its capabilities - although the SID-card is a slight cheat. Very beautiful execution and many nice effects. The end especially was a nice surprise.

First of all, I want to thank Lavina and the other creators for this demo! It's more than a 13 minutes demo. It's a treasure+creation. I think the demo itself is a brilliant result. You can see the result and enjoy it. We, creators, feel more than success... we collaborate, combine, code, draw, chat, drink, adapt to each other, work and care the family and other things too, learn and search possibilities... and follow the other plus4 stuffs :) It was a long process and we enjoyed this. The plus4 has beautiful color palette (it's true), but very it has very tight limitations, and without sprites, without SID and without big and very popular support (like cross-tools, converters, 1000x more active members, popularity, etc). With these limitations it's a big challenge to make things. That's why we love it, among other things ... ok I prefer cursor buttons than anything :) Luckily, several old pals reactivated, who sowed the seeds a long time ago :) ... So ... please follow plus4 scene!

I also loved the included game icicle works, but felt cheated with the severe lack of plus4 only games, I did have Ace which was incredibly hard but it talked which blew me away

Very impressive. I don't think any software for the plus 4 ever pushed the machine like this. With a few extra chips it would have been a beast of an 8bit.

Very impressive piece of code and art. True dedication that is. Plussy plays its full color capacities which unfortunately make almighty C64 feel bad and ugly, and no fancy interlacy flickery FLI could ever change that.

Love the Plus4 palette. It's a bit different than the VIC colours. And those gradients are much improved. From Black to white. Or dark Blue to white. Etc.

The TED series really had terrible sound but I liked what they did in the Promised Land demo with it. Somebody commented they used a SID chip for the audio here. I can't clame them really I don't know now whether the Promised Land demo used the original TED systems sound now. But if they didn't it would have been nice if they did the same here in this demo. Sound is the one thing that realy let the TED platform down. But graphically and with colour the TED's can produce some amazing graphics where the C64 just isnt in the same league. And the extra CPU power doesn't hurt the platform either. I had a C16 and Plus4 when I was a kid like 10-12 before getting an amiga and learnt to programme on them. They were superior to the c64 in a number of ways and there is some software out there which really demonstrates that. I guess the c128 was the best of both with a few more extras thrown in. I did like the C128 I wished I had one. But I got an Amiga next and just leap-frogged the c128 entirely. I still did get to mess around with C128's and really liked them, programming them was like programming the TED series (In Basic at least) I would have really liked one. And most people just used their 128's as a C64 anyway. I really liked the C128D's such a nice looking computer. My mate had an A1000 it was what I always wanted but I had an a500 . Eventually I got a computer that wasn't built into the keyboard and had a separate CPU case, but it was a P60 in a mini tower - by then commodore was well dead and gone. Such a shame they were the better machines and better OS. And so time marched on for me and everybody else. It's hard to think of what could have been - these days I run Win11 (even on my Mac's) and use Debian/Ubuntu in server environments. Pity it's not a world with Amiga based OS's. Ive got a raspberry Pi400 I use as my Amiga running PiMiga (which is a really nice OS considerings its roots is based on an 80's OS) and have Amiga Forever for PC as well as WinUAE etc. PiMiga particularly is still really cool to use imagine where the Amiga OS and hardware could be today. It's a funny thing - like a new Amiga OS would be awesome. A complete reimagining of what it would be today - but the old hardware and much of it's code would have to be left behind. I guess you could emulate the old OS and Hardware. I'm rambling I wish commodore hadn't been such a fook erp back in the day I'd p[robably be still running a decendant of Amiga OS. Why am I rambling about Amiga on a Plus/4 demo? Well I watched a few c64 demos to compare and they look like 8 bit C64 style demos - but I watch these Plus 4 demos they could easily be mistaken for Amiga demos. I'm comparing c64 demos to Pong and I can't help put these in the class I'd expect from an Amiga - they're inn that league. So nice work whom ever coded them you could trick me and tell me this or promised land were Amiga demos and I'd believe you - but take c64 demo and try and tell me its an Amiga demo I'd just laugh and laugh and laugh.

Yes, it's extended with a SID card, otherwise stock C+4 machine.

Yes, we do. Check "TEDVibes" or "TEDVibes 2" which was released yesterday at Funcion2023... However, for this magnitude of trackmos, we prefer to use SID music for various artistic reasons. Thanks.

Yes, it's with SID card. We did not want to go with the native square waves for this demo.

Yes, we either use the native square waves or use sidcard. For a trackmo we prefer the latter for a better experience :)

Any easy write up about BORDER FHLD or any other way to open the borders on C16 ? A way which works in real and emulator? I’d like to see a mix with this Bauknecht vector graphics. A scripted flight sequence where we move around the ships smoothly using TED, and updated angle and zoom at a lower fps. Have you seen the jerky background of wing commander 3? I think we can do as well.
