@redwings13400
@redwings13400 7 ай бұрын
Power creep in pokemon is really interesting because base stats haven't really been power creeped much since gen 1, but movesets and abilities have been ridiculously power crept. This means that older pokemon with good stats still have a chance if they get updated with new moves and new abilities. Gen 1 dragonite didn't survive power creep, but it's been buffed a ton over the years, with physical dragon STAB, dragon dance, extremespeed, a ton of other moveset upgrades, and multiscale. It's also been pretty good at naturally taking advantage of generational gimmicks, with things like supersonic skystrike being the best dynamax move, terra-normal extreme-speed dragonite being ridiculous, and z-moves allowing it to use an insanely powerful dragon type move without having outrage's downsides. So dragonite's gotten a lot of buffs over the years to keep up, even if they weren't flashy buffs like megas. It's for the best, I do enjoy that pokemon does this to help older pokemon stay relevant.

That would have actually been really cool! I wonder what it would look like? It would make sense to make it a Godzilla-esque monster, but that's more suited to Tyranitar than Dragonite, so I'm not so sure. (Hydreigon would, of course, be King Ghidorah.) Maybe all the pseudolegendaries would be different tokusatsu kaiju? Metagross would be a super robot, and the others... are all just dragons, huh? I can't even imagine what you could do that would give each of them something unique.

I'll always remember when Gio pulled off that comeback win with Dragonite at NAIC 2017. It's only gotten better in Gen 9 thanks to Chien-Pao. Wonder how it's gonna do in Reg G

>In SM, Dragonite dropped to UU for the first time Huh? Dragonite is UU in Gen 1. Not even UUBL, just UU. Gen 1 UU also has a recent complex ban on partial trapping that was inspired almost entirely because of Dragonite, which I figured would come up?

You know something I think is weird? Dnite has belly scutes, like a snake, but dratini and dragonair don’t. This is extra weird because dnite has legs, so the scutes are almost completely vestigial.

I’d love to see a video from you guys discussing who the best Pokémon of all time is. Pokémon who have multi-generational usefulness who also evolve with time to remain prominent. Dragonite is a perfect example

I'm hoping to see a remake on Venusaur's competitive history, just like how there was one with Charizards's. Venusaurs deserves some more attention, and there'll be a lot to talk about given Venusaur is seen as the best Gen 1 competitive pokemon

Eh not that prestige of a title. Saur is just a poor man eggy. And eggy also fell off hard and is considered unviable in modern day RBY All three starters are terrible

Can we see another update video on Gliscor? Mon has been incredibly controversial in Gen 9 especially due to Gholdengo and it was nothing to sneeze at in the previous few gens since the original video too.

Dragonite, my favorite psuedo and my favorite singles pokemon to use (i started in gen 6 and its always been a blast to use). Its not mindless, its got a 4 times weakness and the stealth rocks to play around, its high risk high reward. Especially considering i still run weakness policy sets. Also i love using terra Ground to catch people off guard.
