you know false, you can just do what pearl or doc are doing and use diamond and diamond ore as building blocks instead of commodity. pretty hard to give diamonds away when you're using them for noneconomic purposes

Prediction: False starts a mercenary group completing quests for diamonds with no loyalty to the crown. Grian starts war. Doc hires the mercs with his vast fortune to fight the tyrannical dog king in the final battle (mostly to even out the teams)

the drawback is that the darkness effect still triggers, hitting everyone in the area (including False herself if she is in her base at the time)... so therefor hid it underground in the shopping district to troll the other hermits and get the same result!

It’s absolutely insane how she didn’t even die ONCE! Every time the skulk sensors shrieked and spawned the warden I was concerned. And without any wool, I’m dang surprised she even survived without it o.o’

What False might not have realized is that there were already some trails of wool on some of the high walkways, doubtless left by the original builders before they abandoned this place. She did well, but she'd be well advised to consult the videos of her fellow hermits, & learn from their stories.

@@rfresa: I partly agree... ...if it was up to me, I'd click on a stopwatch each time I opened a chest, & give the shriekers a chance to cool down... ... the problem is, what makes for good, safe strategy is also going to be a long, boring video. I believe that this is why I've never seen any of the Hermits do this, except in tutorial videos, where they can edit out the boring period of waiting. There's more entertainment in the times when they try to survive their bad choices.

These are my advices for you while exploring the deep dark: - You can break a shrieker to avoid spawning the warden - If you break a shrieker while it's screaming then the warden will spawn instantly - Wool blocks don't make any noise when placed - You can walk ok wool blocks without worrying about making noise - If the warden is mad at you he will see you no matter where you are, even if you try being silent - If the warden doesnt detect any activity then he will go back to the ground after 10 minutes I think - You have 3 chances to activate a shrieker before the warden spawns in the 4th one - After 10 minutes the counter of chances resets back to 0 - Night vision is very very useful while exploring the ancient city - All skulk blocks can be broken faster with a hoe, so you will need one - There is a lot of loot in the cities so you're going to need at least 2 or 3 shulker boxes (for useful loot only) - Now that you have swift sneak 3 I recommend you to put it in your pants so it becomes easier to explore the cities - You can use F5 to detect shriekers on the structures before you climb them - To be safer I suggest you to break all the shriekers - If you step on the skulk sensors or the shriekers you are going to activate them even if you are crouched - If a warden spawns I think the best way to run is using an elytra since he doesnt hear you while he is going out of the ground (slow falling could make it better so you have time to run out of the darkness effect and locate your minibase) I think those are all my advices for you, good luck!

Slight corrections: -Flying does make some sound, but you tend to be out of range of the sensors. -Warden burrows after 1 minute of silence. And firing too many projectiles in a short space of time will cause the warden to chase you rather than the projectile.

The safest way to go around the deep dark is to constantly set off a shrieker that can't summon anything. There's a global cooldown on all shriekers

If you wish to defeat the warden, you're gonna need to use the etho strat of "piller up and use fishing rod" A 30ish block pillar and 16-17 rod pulls should kill the warden. If you wish, you can also do 15 rod pulls then bow spam it to death so that it'll appear in your statistics. To keep the warden in the optimal spot, two observers facing away from each other and a piston should keep the warden occupied.

@@michaelsmart7445 projectile noises will, but it doesn’t seem like redstone noises do. Maybe anything the player interacts with to activate redstone would make a noise, but a redstone clock activates mechanisms without player input?

To explore the ancient cities more safely (not 100% but at least it's something), bring carpet to make a silent path to walk on and wool blocks to create sound barriers between any noise you might make and the sensors/shriekers. You can, for instance, surround a chest with wool before opening it or if you want to collect shulk sensors or catalysts for redstone and farming purposes...

Wow, you unleashed 3 wardens, nice lol. Wardens attack range is 15 blocks horizontal & 20 blocks vertical. When you go back, wool is your best friend. Use it to walk on & pillar up. Surround shriekers with wool before opening chests. Shriekers, sensors and skulk can be harvested with a silk touch hoe. Looking forward to round 2 of this battle lol :-)

False, if you want to keep snow off your base, I believe it was jevin that placed a glass platform at build height over his base. You can't really see it from the ground, but it keeps snow from falling beneath it.

Step 1 to building interiors for large buildings. Put in supports. Whether it's columns, beams, arches, domes or whatever- they are a natural way to split the space up and create a more 'realistic' feel for large interior spaces.

what if, for the interior, you add a ton of fireplaces and plush carpets? sort of like a ski resort or any given castle in an icy biome would naturally have to keep warm. you can add some secret tunnels and the like, and maybe an ice cave beneath the base. or maybe it's an oasis from the ice with hotsprings (water with a smoke source in it) and warm gardens inside!

It has been so entertaining to watch the Hermits encounter the deep dark! The screams and fear have been funny. I felt that scared to when I triggered a Warden. Your encounter has been my favorite so far. Just know you can spawn in more than one Warden as you did discover at the end. I think the radius is 32 blocks. False, just break the shriekers... then the skulk sensors (and you) can make all the noise you want, it won't summon the warden at that point! And if you put 2 observers facing each other with a piston attached (to infinitely make the piston go off) it is a noise machine that can permanently distract the warden, making you more or less invisible to it! As a heads up though, another warden can be spawned if you travel (50?) blocks from the area that a previous warden was spawned in (as you did by when you were running from warden #1) :P

False that was the best Warden encounter I've seen so far. But to be better prepared for the next encounter. Wool is your best friend. Put Swift sneak 3 on your pants. Use the hoe with silk touch to collect the tentacle things catalyst and the streakers faster. Wool makes better path way. Warden has a 15 block blast zone. 💖

As for me, I plan to bring no less than 4 stacks of wool, 2 stacks of dirt, an arrow and a bow with unbreaking, mending, flame and infinity. As long as I can make a pillar of 16 block height, I can aggro them, lead them to the base of my pillar, and arrow them to death for their drop, then rinse-&-repeat. It's not elegant, but it's got a good chance of working out for me in the early days of my game.
