PK oil is closer to coconut oil for soapmaking purposes. It is different from Palm oil.

Palm kernel oil is derived from the nut of the pakm fruit abd the palm oil is derived from the actual fruit itself that is the flesh of the fruit. The oils are not the same. Oil derived from the flesh is typically a bright orange/yellow in colour almost the same colour of the natured palm fruit, the oil from the kernel is perhaps the same colour as other vegetable oil or can be dark dependent on how it is extracted.
