A minor correction: the NES Tecmo Bowl's player stats and rosters are derived from an amalgamation of the 1987 and 1988 seasons for some reason (the rosters have multiple players who were retired by 1989), and the Famicom version's stats and rosters are derived from the 1989 season (minus Eric Dickerson, who apparently objected to being in the NES game so much that he was removed from later copies of the game).

I like how they didn't even bother to edit the controller graphics to look like Famicom controllers rather than NES controllers

One of my local arcades used to have Tecmo Bowl, so I played it all the time before the NES game came out. I kind of prefer the arcade for its graphics and the hilarious tackle-breaking ability you have in it.

here's hoping you don't get a copyright strike from Fox!

aww this doesn't even have the god-tier bo jackson?! I never really got around to this one (outside of a quick round on NSO without any of the actual players in it) but I'd heard he was like the star player of that one. oh! apparently quarterback scramble *almost* got a us release as mike ditka football?! but seems to have been cancelled.

The only NES game that allows you to play as the Washington Football Team 😉 Last time I checked, this and its sequel are among the relatively few Famicom games not to have a page on Japanese Wikipedia which just shows that games having pages on there has nothing to do with quality.
