Random question: Why do I keep hearing geneALogy as in ALabama instead of genealogy as in congeal?

I think it’s a dialect. It’s ok, we can still understand what he’s saying.

The rest of the world pronounces it as it is spelt - geneALogy. I don't know why some Americans randomly change the A into an O and pronounce it geneOLogy.
